Book Synopsis
In the classroom, desks and chairs lay scattered across the floor, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of paint.
I knelt on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of my mouth like a twisted worm.
"Tell me! Who are you? Why are you here for my son's parent-teacher meeting?" The woman screamed hoarsely, raising the Mop Stick high in her hand, her eyes filled with a hatred that seemed ready to consume me.
I laughed, a sound tinged with despair and self-mockery. "Of course I'm here for the meeting; I'm his aunt."
The other parents watched indifferently, as if they were spectators at a show.
The car key my brother had given me was now lodged in my chest, blood staining its once gleaming surface.
"Aunt? Let me tell you, my husband doesn't have a sister! Stop pretending here! Today, I will show you the consequences of stealing someone else's man!" She swung the Mop Stick down violently, and darkness enveloped me as I lost consciousness.
I never imagined that attending my nephew's parent-teacher meeting would turn into a nightmare of my life...
My mother—she actually said to others that I was no longer worthy of being her daughter...
