Book Synopsis
In the sweltering heat of Bangkok, the sound of taxi horns blared incessantly as I anxiously maneuvered through the crowded streets with my briefcase in hand.
“Dad, I want ice cream!” My son's innocent voice struck like thunder, shattering my last shred of composure. I turned around and hoisted him onto my shoulder.
“Today, no one can stop me from slacking off! Not even The Almighty!” I declared fiercely into the air, completely disregarding the curious glances from those around me; after all, they couldn't understand Chinese anyway.
“Dad, who is The Almighty? Is he more powerful than the principal?” My son's naive question left me momentarily speechless.
Indeed, why should I fear the principal? I had spent my entire fortune and gone bankrupt just to get him into this international school.
