Book Synopsis
In a palace wall in Spring Garden during the Later Tang Dynasty, Princess Yan Qing of Ba Shu and Prince Li Zhao were playing and frolicking. Little did they know that many years later, when they met again, they would be like strangers.
The root of all this can be traced back to the chaos within Later Yan, when the Later Tang not only failed to provide assistance but also took advantage of the situation to attack. Queen Yan Lan of Later Tang pleaded with the emperor in court to withdraw the order to send troops, but the imperial decree could not be violated.
Several months later, the capital city of Ba-Shu, Zhongshan City, faced the encroachment of the Later Tang army, causing panic among the defending soldiers and the people inside the city. In order to protect Yan Qing, Queen Yin decided to disguise her daughter as a commoner and had her taken out of the city by a loyal old nanny, thus, under the influence of drugs, Yan Qing was taken away from the capital and away from the war...
