Book Synopsis
The story unfolds in a remote village that becomes ensnared in a series of eerie events due to an ancient sacrificial custom. Every year on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, the villagers offer human blood to the Old Huai Tree at the village's entrance, seeking protection and peace. However, as the narrative progresses, the protagonist, Er Gouzi, uncovers a more terrifying secret behind this practice—the village is actually trapped by the Yin-Yang Dual Evil Formation, with the Old Huai Tree serving as the source of malevolent power.
As the sacrificial day approaches, bizarre occurrences escalate, ranging from mysterious deaths among the villagers to corpses undergoing strange transformations, culminating in a phenomenon triggered by a Black Cat that causes the dead to rise. All these events seem to be linked to the enigmatic past of the Li Family, who had made a pact with dark forces in a desperate attempt to cure their sick family member, ultimately leading to disaster for the entire village.
With the help of a Mage, the villagers decide to abandon this cursed land and uncover the long-buried truth.
