Book Synopsis
At the entrance of the shopping mall, a colorful balloon arch swayed gently in the breeze, while large promotional posters were plastered everywhere, drawing people's attention. Cheerful music played on repeat over the loudspeakers, mixed with the enthusiastic calls of salespeople. The crowd surged like a tide, bustling and jostling.
Lin Yue tightly held onto Yangyang's small hand as they navigated through the throngs of people. Yangyang's eyes were wide as saucers, darting around with curiosity at everything surrounding him. The oversized plush toys outside the toy store, the exquisitely tempting cakes in the dessert shop's window, and the amusement rides flashing with colorful lights all thrilled him to no end.
"Mommy, I want a daddy. Can you find me one?" Yangyang suddenly stopped, looking up with his big, watery eyes filled with hope. His voice carried a soft, pleading tone, and his innocent little face was etched with longing.
Lin Yue's heart tightened painfully, as if gripped by an invisible hand. She crouched down and gently stroked Yangyang's head, her eyes filled with helplessness and sorrow. "Yangyang, dear, Mommy will always be here for you." But Yangyang was not willing to listen; taking advantage of Lin Yue standing up, he broke free from her grasp like a small beast escaping a cage and dashed toward Su Ming and his daughter, who were nearby selecting toys.
"Mommy! I found you a daddy! And he has a super cute little sister! Now I can have a daddy and a sister too!" Yangyang shouted excitedly, his little face flushed with joy as his voice cut through the noise of the crowd, catching the attention of many around them. He ran up to Su Ming and wrapped his arms around his leg, rubbing his cheek against it as if he had found a long-lost relative.
Su Ming was intently helping his daughter Su Yao choose a puzzle block when this sudden commotion startled him. He looked down to see a little boy clinging tightly to his leg, beaming with a bright smile. Just then, a young woman rushed over—it was Lin Yue, an employee from his company.
Lin Yue felt her head spin as she hurried after Yangyang. When she caught sight of Su Ming's tall figure and familiar stern aura, she was momentarily taken aback, her mouth agape in surprise.
