Book Synopsis
The weather was clear today, and the scenery was beautiful everywhere I looked. I felt cheerful, humming a little tune while swaying my head and gently moving my body to the rhythm, my steps light and lively.
My assistant wore a serious expression, meticulously checking my gear, examining every buckle and rope. Once satisfied, he signaled the director that we were ready to start filming.
I stood at the door of the airplane, looking down below. A wave of nervousness washed over me as I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. Following the director's instructions, I slowly extended my arms like a bird about to take flight and bravely jumped from the plane suspended in mid-air.
I was a second-rate actor filming a skydiving scene.
The wind roared past my ears like a fierce beast howling. Just as I opened my parachute and waited to land, the wind suddenly intensified, as if invisible hands had pushed me forcefully. In an instant, I felt myself being swept away uncontrollably by the strong gusts.
My eyes widened in terror as panic filled my mind. My hands flailed in the air, desperately trying to grasp something.
Oh no! I thought. What if something goes wrong?
As these thoughts raced through my mind, my body plummeted straight down like a falling meteor.
I squeezed my eyes shut, curling into a ball, bracing for the impending impact.
I felt a heavy crash as if a mountain had fallen on me, followed by an intense pain that surged through my body. Then everything went dark; I collapsed to the ground, motionless.
