Book Synopsis
Empress Dowager Longyu, of the Yehe Nara clan, born Jingfen and nicknamed Xizi, was the niece of Empress Dowager Cixi. She was born in 1868, the daughter of Guixiang, Vice Commander and Duke Assisting the Nation.
In October of Guangxu's reign, she was appointed as Empress at the age of twenty-two, making her two years older than Guangxu. She was also the last empress to enter the palace through the Great Qing Gate.
In October of the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu's reign, she ascended to the position of Empress Dowager.
Two years later, she passed away in the Forbidden City at the age of forty-six.
