Book Synopsis
Before I ran away from home, I had tried several ways to end my life: electrocution, sleeping pills, cutting my wrists...
Later, I boarded a train heading south all by myself, only to be sold to a place that wasn't even marked on the Chinese Map!
During my first escape, while they were taking a break at noon, I slipped out and ran wildly along the Mountain Path. But my legs couldn't outrun the men who had spent their lives farming and hunting; it wasn't long before they caught up with me and dragged me back.
For my second attempt, I chose midnight. He was sound asleep, and I quietly slipped out the door, only to encounter a Pack of Wolves with glowing green eyes halfway through. I wanted to scream, but my throat felt glued shut and no sound came out. I wanted to run back, but my legs felt as if they were cemented in place!
On my third escape, I put sleeping pills in their family's food. The moment I stepped out in the morning, I didn't dare to pause for even a second. As the sun set behind the mountains, I looked around and saw nothing but dense forests and high peaks. I was dying of thirst and hunger, yet I had no money and nothing to eat. Then I heard the howling of wolves again!
