Book Synopsis
He looked at me, still wearing that gentle expression, but the softness sent chills down my spine.
How could someone say they want to kill you while looking at you so tenderly?
He hugged me lightly, just as I had embraced him when he was cold. "Master of the Palace, I actually like you just a little bit."
As he said this, he suddenly pulled out a dagger and thrust it violently toward my neck.
I felt a sharp pain, and then everything went black. In my fading consciousness, I wondered how he planned to finish me off—strangle me? Drown me? Starve me? Or stab me to death?
I don't know how long it was before I realized I hadn't died. It turned out that the Time Machine at Time Hotel had sensed my intense crisis and brought me back.
This service was simply too, too, too considerate...
"I'm really sorry. We couldn't send you to the Tang Dynasty as you requested. The machine had a little malfunction, so we're giving you another chance to ride the Time Machine, free of charge, dear."
I quickly waved my hands and said, "No, thank you. Really, it's fine."
"Oh come on, don't be shy! It's the least we can do."
And so, I was pushed back onto the Time Machine.
Every time I fell out of the Time Tunnel, it was always a grand scene.
This time, I also landed on two people, but thankfully, I didn't crush them to death.
