I looked around. The floor was covered with white tiger skin, and the walls were embedded with Night Pearls. Even the nest for laying eggs was made of precious Ice Silkworm Silk. Where am I?
"Where is this?" I asked.
She didn't answer me but helped lower the bed curtains and led an elderly man into the room.
"Your Highness, rest assured, this is my family's home. However, our clan leader is currently in seclusion and cannot come in person. Given the urgency of the situation, I will take charge for now and welcome you and the Little Prince back."
I cautiously inquired, "Which clan is this?"
The old man smiled. "By the command of our clan leader, once you awaken, we will settle accounts with the human race."
They extended an olive branch to me, and it would be unreasonable not to accept it. I climbed into a carriage made of Eight Treasure Ebony, pulled by two koi fish, and headed towards the human realm.
As I sat in the carriage, I still felt that everything had happened too suddenly. The words I heard before losing consciousness echoed in my mind—"The clan leader has ordered to come and marry the Human Princess as a consort."
Before long, we arrived at the human realm. A group of Carp Guards surrounded Yu Lan's palace.
"Please have the Second Princess come out and give us an explanation for why she harmed our princess."
We couldn't directly confront the Empress; we had to start with Yu Lan first.
Yu Lan was in a frenzy inside the palace. "What are you Li Clan planning to do?"
"Your princess is in great danger; why should we be blamed for it?"
Bai Hong stood nearby, drooling as he gazed at me, longing for an egg.
Holding him gently, Yu Lan cooed, "Darling, that's a bad egg. Once you Transform into a Dragon, you can eat any egg you want."
She then turned to me, sneering, "Sister, if the child's father is useless, it's no wonder you ended up with an egg."
"Is it not hatched yet? Surely you can find a man?"
The elder behind me exuded an aura of coldness.
"Second Princess, mind your words. You are speaking to the princess of the Li Clan."
Yu Lan proudly declared, "My Bai Hong has the best talent; he will definitely Transform into a Dragon in the future. What does it matter if you're a princess!"
Bai Hong, sporting a pair of horns, glared at me defiantly.
"Dragon Horn?"
I was speechless; could that even be called a horn?
Without hesitation, the elder moved to capture Yu Lan.
She tried to escape but couldn't break free.
"Boldly! When my Mother Empress arrives, you'll all be in for it!"
She continued to shout defiantly.
The Empress arrived swiftly.
I raised my hand to slap her, but she dodged.
"How dare you! You would strike your sister?"
The Empress's face was filled with displeasure.
"Yu Rou, apologize to Yu Lan."
"Otherwise, I will remove you from the family tree and extract your inner core."
This was my Mother Empress.
All remnants of my feelings for her vanished.
I turned to leave.
The Empress called out to me.
"Stop! If you do not apologize today, you will no longer be a member of our clan."
I smiled.
I had been ignored by her since childhood, but I never expected her to be so heartless.
An elder stepped forward to speak on my behalf. "I urge the Empress to handle this matter fairly."
Yu Lan grew anxious, tugging at the Empress's sleeve and pouting, "Mother Empress, do you believe Yu Lan?"
"How could Yu Lan do such a thing?"
The Empress's expression softened slightly.
"Of course, you have always been well-behaved; how could you harm your sister?"
She turned to me. "Yu Rou, apologize."
Her tone was firm, leaving me no chance to explain.
I was utterly disappointed.
I turned and walked away.
The Empress's voice called after me, "From this day forth, Yu Rou is disqualified from the human race."
"Her inner core must also be taken."
I was no longer her child.
So be it.
A Mother Empress like this is not worth keeping.
The elder's voice was cold and firm. "Are you really going to disqualify the Grand Princess?"
Yu Lan immediately agreed, "Of course."
"But you humans should not regret losing the Grand Princess."
