The Thorned Flying Wheel crashed violently into the approaching monsters, scattering the Wei Chong Yi Shou in all directions.
As Lu Fei Fan controlled the Thorned Flying Wheel, it whirled around, smashing into the Wei Chong Yi Shou with a thunderous roar, obliterating them one by one.
Sebella watched in disbelief as the Wei Chong Yi Shou struggled to adapt to the onslaught of the Thorned Flying Wheel.
“Run!” Lu Fei Fan shouted, grabbing Sebella and leaping off the high tower platform, racing down the countless stairs.
Seeing the two humans begin to flee, the encircling Wei Chong Yi Shou surged forward, maintaining their liquid form as they burrowed out of the rocks, transforming into ferocious beasts that lunged at Lu Fei Fan and Sebella.
However, under Lu Fei Fan's mental control of Pulse Energy, the Thorned Flying Wheel danced around them like two agile flying discs, forming a protective barrier.
The Wei Chong Yi Shou shot out spears made of Black Liquid in a probing attack. They struck against the two flying wheels surrounding Lu Fei Fan, but the circular shields formed by the white and red wheels were impenetrable.
As they sprinted forward, countless black spears formed from liquid shot out from the Wei Chong Yi Shou. Each spear became a sharp projectile with a whistling sound that echoed through the air, crashing into the ground where Lu Fei Fan and Sebella had just passed, causing explosions and sending debris flying.
Despite the storm created by the rapidly spinning Thorned Flying Wheel, Lu Fei Fan held his Whale Devouring Sword firmly in hand. The Wei Chong Yi Shou seemed oblivious to death; they just kept coming relentlessly.
With a sweeping motion of his Whale Devouring Sword, Lu Fei Fan shattered two beasts blocking their exit. He noticed that these creatures could shift between liquid and solid forms; once they were completely defeated, they disintegrated into irregular chunks of black stone.
“Behind us!” Sebella warned.
Lu Fei Fan turned to see hundreds of Wei Chong Yi Shou gathering behind them, quickly coalescing into a massive entity!
“This thing seems to have become stronger than when it first appeared!” Sebella exclaimed, feeling the change in intensity.
“Do you even need to ask?” Lu Fei Fan could sense that the entity of the Wei Insect was significantly stronger than when it had just emerged from the Klein confinement sphere.
He swiftly sheathed the Whale Devouring Sword behind him, feeling the monstrous creature expanding like a dark shadow. The Pulse Energy surging within its body continued to swell, seemingly forming a peculiar space.
“A domain?”
Lu Fei Fan sensed the distortion in the space and dashed toward the exit. Several descending Wei Insect monsters crashed down at the entrance, attempting to block his path.
“It wants to swallow us!” Sebella exclaimed, her face flushed and breathless from running.
“Break through!” Lu Fei Fan commanded, raising his hand to control the Thorned Flying Wheel. The air sliced through with a sharp sound, creating a whoosh as it moved.
The flying wheel transformed into two beams of black, white, and red light, sweeping through with unstoppable force. The Wei Chong Yi Shou blocking the entrance were obliterated in an instant. After clearing the path, the Thorned Flying Wheel whirred back around Lu Fei Fan and Sebella.
Sebella wanted to look back but lacked the energy to do so. However, she could hear the sounds of explosions behind her as the Thorned Flying Wheel returned like a roaring engine, providing her with a sense of security amidst the chaos.
The two of them burst out of the passageway, and Lu Fei Fan pushed Sebella forward while drawing the Whale Devouring Sword again. He unleashed a torrent of Pulse Energy toward the wall of the passageway with a single strike!
Boom!
The corridor trembled violently as rocks rumbled down in a cascade, creating a deafening sound.
The Thorned Flying Wheel darted out from the billowing smoke of the collapsing passageway, rumbling fiercely!
The corridor collapsed with a thunderous roar, and the pursuing Wei Chong Yi Shou were instantly engulfed in debris.
“Let’s go!”
"Lu Fei Fan!" he shouted loudly to Sebella as a warning.
Sebella took off running, for behind Lu Fei Fan, a thunderous rumble echoed as massive rocks collapsed, sending waves of dust that engulfed the two of them. Fortunately, Lu Fei Fan had conjured energy shields for both himself and Sebella; otherwise, they would have been choked by the dust in this narrow passage.
The thunderous collapse continued to roar behind them, and they dared not look back, fearing that even a moment's pause could cost them their lives.
It was only after they had run nearly a thousand meters that the collapse finally ceased.
Lu Fei Fan and Sebella paused to catch their breath. Lu Fei Fan retracted the Thorned Flying Wheel back into his open palm. The two flying wheels returned to him, surprisingly small enough to resemble bracelets. He temporarily stored them in his nano gear for easy access in case of battle.
"This is a good find!" Sebella exclaimed, still clutching the tattered rabbit she had somehow managed to keep hold of during their frantic escape.
Lu Fei Fan nodded in agreement. "It's quite effective for taking down enemies."
The Thorned Flying Wheel was entirely under Lu Fei Fan's control through his perception, and it consumed not his Pulse Energy but rather his mental strength.
"You’re not just an ordinary Fuser, are you?" Sebella asked curiously, looking at Lu Fei Fan with intrigue.
Lu Fei Fan walked on with a charming smile, playfully replying, "What do you think?"
Sebella hugged the rabbit and turned away, choosing not to delve deeper into the topic. The ability to manipulate objects and defeat enemies using mental strength was something only a rare Mindstormer could achieve; no other Fuser could do so unless they were a national-level powerhouse with similar extraordinary skills. Otherwise, it was simply impossible.
Lu Fei Fan chose not to elaborate further; there was no need to reveal too much. This was one of his trump cards, after all. He couldn't just lay it all out for her, especially since this girl was far from ordinary and had intricate ties with the Holy See of the Alliance Empire. Thus, he kept some secrets to himself.
Sebella was equally curious about Lu Fei Fan. This man, who looked quite decent and possessed both fighting and running skills, had never been mentioned in any records she had seen regarding exceptional young talents from the Free Federation.
After all, she had browsed through the Church's database and seen profiles of many emerging talents from the Free Federation, yet this young man left no impression on her whatsoever.
“Hey, I have a question for you.” Sebella walked ahead, clutching the last remaining old rabbit with one ear.
“You can ask, but I might not answer,” Lu Fei Fan replied, sensing the surroundings as they moved forward. Three paths appeared before them in the swirling dust.
“Why did you save me?” Sebella stopped in her tracks, looking at him while holding the rabbit. She then mimicked the adults by playfully tossing her hair back, “Is it because I’m cute and beautiful, like Chu Chu?”
“Oh wow, you guessed right! Come here, I’ve been wanting to pinch your cheeks for a while now!”
Lu Fei Fan mischievously reached out and pinched Sebella’s face. Her delicate cheeks turned white in some spots and red in others. Sebella was taken aback that this rascal actually dared to tease her. She lifted her foot to kick him, but Lu Fei Fan jumped back and turned to make a silly face at her, “Hehe…”
“You!” Sebella was so furious that she stomped her foot and slammed the old rabbit onto the ground. “Federation Academy, you’re such a rogue! A jerk!”
“Hey, let’s hurry up!”
Lu Fei Fan turned his back to her, one hand in his pocket, completely ignoring the fuming little girl.
Sebella was both angry and frustrated. Just as she contemplated whether to sulk and refuse to walk alongside him, a rumble echoed from behind as the collapsing passage shook.
“If we don’t move now, those monsters will catch up! I won’t be responsible!” Lu Fei Fan called out from ahead, stretching his arm back to wave goodbye to Sebella.
“What a jerk! Hmph!”
Sebella muttered under her breath but reluctantly picked up the tattered rabbit doll and followed him. She puffed out her cheeks and refused to speak to Lu Fei Fan any longer.
Lu Fei Fan glanced back; finally, this annoying little girl was quiet. Trying to compete with him? She was still too inexperienced; he had plenty of ways to deal with her.
Meanwhile, behind the collapsing passage, the massive form of Wei Insect roared. It descended like liquid onto the platform of the tower. The collapsed passage was blocked by layers of rocks. From its colossal liquid-like body, strange beasts continuously split off and surged forth, all rushing toward the collapsed passage. They transformed into crawling monsters that drilled through the rubble. Notably, these Wei Chong Yi Shou had evolved into new forms.
Its originally completely black body now flickered with strands of flame-like energy in the brain and central areas.
These evolved beasts excavated tunnels at an astonishing speed, large chunks of stone being drilled through as if they were tofu. The main body of the Wei Insect continuously released its spawn. Its massive, liquid-like form, nearly a hundred meters long, suddenly twisted as if sensing a weak point in the great hall. It issued a new command, and all the Wei Chong Yi Shou abandoned their current tasks, transforming into a swarm that climbed to the ceiling of the hall. They resembled a dark Beast Horde, their efficiency astonishing as they relentlessly dug away. An incredible tunnel gradually took shape, with soil and stones continuously falling from within, while the densely packed Wei Chong Yi Shou squeezed together and crawled into the newly carved passage.
If Lu Fei Fan had witnessed this scene, he would undoubtedly have been struck by the astonishing intelligence of the Wei Chong Yi Shou.
What was even more terrifying was that if it managed to break free, it would become an extremely fearsome monster army!
Yet the Wei Chong Yi Shou continued to dig deeper into the passage. This underground world that had imprisoned it for so many years lost its ability to restrain it the moment the Cage was shattered.
It was transforming into a gigantic monster, growing at an incredible speed, beginning its journey into a broader world outside.
For it, this meant more food and energy.
Neither Lu Fei Fan nor Sebella, nor even Rod—the instigator who broke Klein's confinement ball—could have anticipated that they had unleashed such a terrifying and extraordinary monster.
The demons in the shadows were beginning to descend.
