The liquid creature released by the Klein Sealing Sphere was unmistakably the Wei Chong Yi Shou, Lu Fei Fan thought with certainty.
In his past life, he had encountered a similar monster aboard the Ancient Airship. Although there were slight differences in form, it was clearly a creature of the same species.
Considering the civilization wars he had witnessed on the Yiye Feisuo ship, could this Wei Chong Yi Shou be the very biological civilization that had driven the Giant Civilization to the brink of extinction?
His thoughts were racing, but there was no time to ponder further. As Lu Fei Fan dragged along the Loli beside him, he noticed her hands were icy cold. He glanced at her; she was clutching a dirty rabbit doll, missing one of its ears, yet she held it tightly as if it were a treasure. Her expression was surprisingly calm, devoid of the earlier panic and fear.
But why was she being kept close by Treyzer and Rod?
One thing Lu Fei Fan was certain of: this Loli was not as simple as she appeared; she was clearly an enigma.
The base began to sound alarms. The Number Five Control Device floated behind Lu Fei Fan, likely having triggered the base's defensive alert.
The Wei Chong Yi Shou continued to expand in its liquid form, enveloping everyone like a massive curtain of water. Suddenly, it began to split apart, giving rise to grotesque monsters that lacked fixed shapes. They spun in midair like swirling mists, dozens of dark figures rushing toward them.
The fastest among them darted through the air, twisting and contorting as sharp liquid spikes formed continuously, launching like javelins toward Lu Fei Fan and Sebella!
Clang! Clang! Clang!
As Lu Fei Fan moved and swung his sword to fend them off, the swarming Wei Insects came at him like clouds of black mist, eagerly pouncing on him. He fought desperately against those trying to block his path!
The Whale Devouring Sword unleashed high-frequency Pulse Energy that instantly obliterated a group of Wei Insects blocking his way, sending black water splattering everywhere amidst crackling sparks of electricity.
As Lu Fei Fan found himself about to be engulfed by the massive extending water curtain, more and more Wei Insects surged forward to try and hold him back.
"Number Five, do we have any emergency measures?" Lu Fei Fan shouted wearily at the Control Device while battling these monsters.
The Number Five Control Device immediately issued an order: "Host is in danger! Protect the host!"
Several Wei Insects spun around with clattering sounds. Upon seeing the Number Five Control Device, they lunged at it, their sharp stingers piercing through. Sparks flew as electricity erupted from it. In its final moments before fulfilling its mission, the screen displayed its last command!
“Activate all!”
The Wei Insects engulfed it without a hint of concern for the command given, and more Wei Insects surged toward Lu Fei Fan.
Lu Fei Fan dragged Sebella as they sprinted down the metallic corridor they had come from, with a dark mass of twisting liquid Wei Chong Yi Shou swirling behind them, along with dozens of beastly transformed Wei Chong Yi Shou hunting them down viciously.
At that moment, all the robots surrounding the base were instantly activated, their minds filled with a single command!
“Protect the host!”
“The host is in danger!”
Immediately, all the Puppet Robots detached the Metal Pipes hanging from their bodies. They fell away and, in the next second, launched themselves like cannonballs, directly colliding with the running Wei Insects.
One after another, more running Wei Insects were knocked down by the Puppet Robots charging from all directions. They brandished the energy blades from their mechanical arms, which swiftly penetrated them; however, their liquid forms absorbed the damage, causing the Puppet Robots to be solidified by the liquid.
Many robots were sent flying as several water-like Wei Chong Yi Shou swooped down from above to attack Lu Fei Fan. But with loud thuds, seven or eight Puppet Robots quickly fell to the ground, unarmed or raising their Energy Cannons and energy whips to counterattack against these Wei Insects.
Lu Fei Fan was somewhat astonished; these Puppet Robots seemed to have gone mad, charging out from all sides without a hint of fear. They fearlessly hurled themselves at the Wei Insects, blocking their path.
Lu Fei Fan noticed that not all Puppet Robots were equipped with weapons; some could only fight barehanded against the Wei Insects. The liquid forms of the Wei Insects were dispersed by their blows but quickly reformed into cohesive masses. Those with weapons fared better, vaporizing the liquid forms directly, while those without could only pummel the other Wei Insects with punches.
Most Puppet Robots fell victim to being torn apart or pierced by the Wei Insects’ solid forms. Yet for every robot that went down, another would take its place.
The Wei Insects found their splits blocked by the attacking robots. A chaotic battle ensued in the hall as all robots fought desperately toward Lu Fei Fan’s direction. They stood between Lu Fei Fan and the Wei Insects, fiercely battling without regard for their lives!
The Wei Insects had no choice but to recover their fallen liquid splits and gather together. They rose slowly like a massive black blob, writhing as countless sharp spikes shot outwards.
But an unending stream of robots rushed forward like a pile of sticky rice dumplings, tearing apart that gathering mass of Wei Insects through stabbing and bombardment. Even when using bare hands to tear and punch, they showed no signs of retreat or fear.
Furious and humiliated, the Wei Insects realized there were too many Puppet Robots stacked together. A massive wave crashed down like a curtain of water, directly covering those robots as their liquid forms seeped into the machines' bodies, controlling them completely.
The robots invaded by the Black Liquid transformed into Black Metal armor, and they began to clash with the machines that were blocking the Wei Insect. However, more and more robots continued to awaken and join the fray on this Metal Avenue, aiming to obstruct the Wei Insect and those controlled machines.
Lu Fei Fan couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret. These Puppet Robots were clearly still reserve machines waiting to be equipped. If they were fully armed, their fearless and brutal fighting style would undoubtedly make them an unstoppable and fierce legion!
Unfortunately, they encountered Wei Chong Yi Shou, who had now been fully activated. To protect Lu Fei Fan, they charged fearlessly toward Wei Chong Yi Shou, likely sealing the fate of these Puppet Robots.
Lu Fei Fan dragged Sebella along and turned to leave. As they departed, more than a dozen Puppet Robots came rushing in through the front gate. Lu Fei Fan didn’t look back; he could only hear the continuous sounds of explosions behind them, along with mechanical debris flying through the air.
Lu Fei Fan burst out of the base's main entrance, and behind him, the Wei Insect suddenly expanded. Its body engulfed these Puppet Robots, yet more machines continued to leap out from around the base. They dove at the Liquid Beast like moths to a flame, crashing against it as the strange creature merged its split form with its main body.
The massive body transformed into a swirling beast, its sharp spikes shredding through the robots. The mechanical energy from their bodies was absorbed by Wei Chong Yi Shou, as streams of light-like energy continuously converged on its liquid surface, drawn into its central head.
This energy was devoured from the Puppet Robots. Subsequently, it swept away dozens of machines and lunged toward the core area where the base's energy source was located. The thick metal plates that even heavy artillery could not penetrate were easily torn apart by it!
Underground, a gigantic Energy Engine was continuously supplying power to this experimental base. Its undulating body opened wide as it extended its sharp spikes to probe. Energy burst forth in sparks that instantly clung to its body. It emitted a strange, piercing roar as if a floating liquid wall collapsed in an instant, engulfing the massive engine that radiated incredible energy.
However, the remaining robots rushed in. Before they could pounce, that mass of black liquid surged up suddenly, overwhelming these annoying machines like a tidal wave. Finally, it coalesced back into a surging liquid tide toward the engine once again.
Lu Fei Fan led Sebella into a complex maze of tunnels, running at full speed without daring to stop until they had sprinted for quite some time. Only then did Sebella break free from his grip, clutching her worn-out rabbit doll while gasping for breath.
“You’re going to run me to death,” she scolded irritably.
Lu Fei Fan activated Whale's Breath; he wished he had just carried her along while running. Fortunately, when he glanced back, he didn’t see Wei Chong Yi Shou pursuing them—those robots must have been causing enough trouble for it.
“Let’s go,” Lu Fei Fan urged; he didn’t want to linger here too long since Wei Chong Yi Shou would definitely catch up soon.
Sebella was still catching her breath when she raised her hand to shout a few words.
“Hey, why are you in such a hurry?”
“Hey, are you deaf?”
“Hey... wait for me.” Sebella glanced back with a hint of fear, and could only run to catch up.
Once she caught up, she began to murmur incessantly, “How can you be so heartless?”
Lu Fei Fan, however, was too preoccupied to pay her any mind. He could distinctly feel a special Pulse Energy ahead, drawing him in continuously. Sebella seemed to sense it too, falling silent as she followed him quietly.
Guided by their perception of the Pulse Energy, they navigated through twists and turns until they reached an exit. Standing at the entrance, they felt as small as ants before the towering opening. Before them lay a hollow underground circular space, with seven or eight passages extending outward toward a central stone tower that soared several dozen meters high. They ascended the stairs slowly, where a grand Main Seat awaited at the top.
On the Main Seat sat a skeletal figure clad in tattered battle armor!
Lu Fei Fan and Sebella instinctively turned their gazes toward the chair before the skeleton!
There, hovering in mid-air, was a mysterious Ancient Artifact, slowly rotating and emanating an ancient glow of energy!
It was this artifact that had drawn Lu Fei Fan and Sebella closer, seemingly waiting for its new master!
What kind of legacy had this belonged to?
