The shattered Klein seal ball burst open like a dam releasing floodwaters, countless streams of light surging forth, engulfing Treyzer and Rod.
However, what emerged was a kind of transparent energy resembling flowing light. In an instant, it enveloped everyone and transported them into a strange circular space.
Lu Fei Fan noticed that within this circular space floated numerous pale golden cubes, each about the size of a fist. Remarkably, they were all aligned in a straight line, regardless of how one looked at them.
Was this space entirely filled with such objects?
What caught Lu Fei Fan's attention even more was the book suspended in the center. It appeared to be the core of these energy cubes—the Golden Holy Book.
"What is that?" Lu Fei Fan asked, pointing at the object hovering above everyone's heads.
Beneath the book, more cubic energy bodies circled around it, forming a spherical shape that encased a mass of black liquid condensed within.
Lu Fei Fan observed that this black liquid seemed to be alive.
It bubbled like boiling liquid, occasionally splashing black droplets. Whenever the surging black liquid touched a golden cube, it would immediately retreat back into its solid form as if repelled by an invisible energy bullet.
"Radiant Scripture!" Rod recognized the book providing energy to these cubes; it was indeed part of the scripture lost by The Church.
Treyzer frowned, raising his hands as golden energy flowed through his fingers like quicksand. As a holy knight of The Church, he was naturally sensitive to energy.
"Rod, the flow of time here seems quite slow," Treyzer remarked.
"Yes, my incomplete scripture feels it too," Rod nodded in agreement.
"What is that mass of black liquid?" Sebella asked curiously, squinting at the entity with an unsettling feeling.
"This is a massive energy array," Luo Jing concluded after surveying the surroundings. "It seems designed to imprison that black liquid."
Lu Fei Fan was deep in thought; it was evident that time flowed more slowly here than outside. If Treyzer hadn’t broken the energy array from the Klein Sphere, could it be that this strange energy array they had constructed would...
An astonishing thought flashed through Lu Fei Fan's mind.
"Number Five, do you have technology to solidify time?" Lu Fei Fan asked the Number Five Control Device.
As soon as he spoke, everyone froze in shock. Could it be that this Klein Sealing Sphere contained an energy array that imprisoned time?
The Number Five Control Device began scanning with its electronic instruments and replied, "The Creator's Civilization indeed developed technology based on virtual time, but the current energy array cannot determine its purpose because it is accelerating the flow of time."
Everyone immediately understood; clearly, this energy array had already been damaged.
Just then, the previously sluggish sensation among them began to lighten, making it feel as though this special energy array was starting to lose its original state.
The first to notice the disintegration of the energy array was the mass of black liquid. Its roiling substance began to splash against the golden energy body. Initially, the intangible golden energy would spark with electric currents upon contact with the liquid, but gradually, they began to weaken.
The black liquid grew bolder, surging forth to touch the energy net. From being initially cautious, it started to lose its fear and hesitation. Eventually, it boldly extended its roiling liquid outward; the retaliatory barriers of energy seemed to have no effect on it.
"It wants the Radiant Scripture," Rod observed as he noticed the black liquid rising and swirling. The water curtain it created continuously rolled up, and those blocks forming the energy array began to be consumed by it.
"Vow of Chains!"
Treyzer raised Gungnir, which instantly transformed into a whip made of pure energy lightning. With a flick of his wrist, it shot out like a bolt of lightning and ensnared the glowing Radiant Scripture above them!
The surging black liquid lunged toward the glowing Radiant Scripture, but the electric whip in Treyzer's hand erupted with dazzling sparks. The surging energy sparks transmitted outward from the mass of black liquid!
"Not good!"
Lu Fei Fan and Sebella exclaimed almost in unison.
Energy surged from the Radiant Scripture, spreading along each floating Cube. The Cubes trembled as if struck by lightning, their stability wavering as the energy blocks began to falter.
Treyzer was aware of this, but he had no time to dwell on it. With a sudden tug on the lightning lasso in his hand, the Radiant Scripture plummeted from above.
In an instant, the floating energy blocks above began to wither, transforming into black quicksand. They crumbled and fell, disappearing into nothingness.
This moment passed in the blink of an eye, and all the energy Cubes within the vast circular arena began to dissipate!
As the Radiant Scripture landed in Treyzer's hands, he handed it over to Rod. Rod received it and opened the Black Cover, sliding the glowing Radiant Scripture inside. It fit perfectly into the ancient black book cover, and the scripture emitted a harmonious Energy Flow, transforming into an Ancient Dark Red Scripture.
However, the ordeal was not over; a shadowy mass was spreading above their heads. Lu Fei Fan was the first to draw his Energy Gun, firing rapidly—
The powerful Energy Bullets struck the expanding Black Liquid, creating holes, but it continued to heal itself!
“Get out of here!” Lu Fei Fan shouted as he realized that his Energy Bullets were ineffective against the black liquid. He felt a strange familiarity with this substance!
The mass of black liquid surged and spread like a liquid falling down, forming a cage that threatened to trap them all inside.
Lu Fei Fan immediately turned to run, followed closely by Sebella. Luo Jing hesitated for a moment before also fleeing, only to find a falling column of liquid blocking his path.
His Yan Luo Spear surged forward, piercing through it, but as it hit the ground, it quickly writhed and split into bouncing Liquid Insects. They began to sprout limbs; some took on beast-like forms while others resembled Luo Jing wielding long spears.
Luo Jing's marksmanship swept through them, shattering their liquid forms with precision. However, more fragmented liquid reassembled on the ground or morphed into larger insects and monstrous shapes!
“This thing can split!” Sebella exclaimed as she glanced back at a bouncing mass of water that rapidly transformed into a giant mouth lunging toward her.
She stumbled and fell, desperately kicking her legs to retreat. But that Black Liquid mouth lunged at her with ferocity!
“Don’t!” Sebella cried out in fear as she raised her hands in a futile attempt to block it!
The darkness pressed in like the night itself.
But a figure moved faster, blocking her path, wielding the radiant Whale Devouring Sword that swept through the air.
"Come on, beast!" Lu Fei Fan's Whale Devouring Sword sliced through the darkness like a sharp blade, tearing apart the mass of liquid monstrosity in an instant.
Sebella dropped her hands, quickly dusted herself off, and stood up. She watched as Lu Fei Fan, filled with rage, swung his sword wildly at the surging Liquid Monsters. The brilliant Whale Devouring Sword acted like a deadly Sharp Weapon, causing the liquid it struck to evaporate and disintegrate rapidly.
After dispatching the last beast-like Liquid Monster behind him, he swiftly retracted his Greatsword and without hesitation turned to drag the still-dazed Sebella away, leaving everyone else behind.
Meanwhile, Treyzer and Rod were completely engulfed by the liquid.
Only Rod's Radiant Scripture, which they had managed to find, emitted an astonishing energy that pushed back the ever-growing Liquid Monsters.
However, countless sharp blades suddenly rose within the liquid creature, all aimed at Treyzer and Rod!
Rod quickly opened the scripture, conjuring a golden Pulse Shield to protect them both. Yet, dense Black Liquid solidified into sharp spikes that rained down—bang bang bang—
The relentless assault pounded against the light barrier, causing it to surge and sway precariously.
The liquid's countless spikes continued to regenerate in a ceaseless cycle. Those that shattered against the Light Shield quickly flowed back to their source, transforming into a barrage of spikes that shot towards the shield once more.
Gritting his teeth through considerable pain, Rod found it increasingly difficult to hold on. He hadn’t anticipated that this creature’s attacks would be so terrifying and unrelenting.
“Treyzer… it seems we’ve unleashed a monstrous threat,” Rod said helplessly. First it was the Dustworld Python, now this liquid-type monster.
“Enhance!” Treyzer stood proudly in front of Rod, his lightning lasso transformed back into Gungnir, crackling with brilliant electricity around his arm. He ignited all his Pulse Energy.
Rod gritted his teeth and focused on casting various blessing spells on Treyzer. His armor and Feathered Wings shone brilliantly once more, resembling a divine knight descending from above!
"I swear, I will not be weak, nor will I fear strong enemies. I will raise my banner against all that is evil, protect the weak, serve my lord with sincerity, uphold my honor, and choose death over surrender!"
In the darkness, the solemn oath of Treyzer echoed!
Rod's expression changed dramatically. Before he could react, he felt the ground spin beneath him as Treyzer wrapped around him.
Bang!
The Light Shield was pierced, yet Treyzer's radiant form surged forward with a thunderous roar, crashing through the space enveloped by the dark liquid.
Countless spikes surged from the darkness, striking against that towering figure, shattering light in a torrential downpour!
"Rod!" Treyzer shouted fiercely amidst his wild flight.
Rod clutched the Radiant Scripture tightly and had not yet responded when he saw Treyzer offering something to him.
"Grab it!" Treyzer urged.
Amidst the chaos, Rod noticed a glimmer and reached out to seize the glowing orb.
"Eternal Declaration!"
This was the last sound that resonated from Treyzer.
Gungnir transformed into a streak of meteoric light, taking Rod with it as they burst through the encasing of the dark Liquid Monster and soared outward.
In the brightness, Rod floated like a kite in the wind and saw through the gaping hole in the darkness that his tall companion was engulfed in radiant brilliance, blood splattering everywhere as countless spikes pierced through him. He fell back into the darkness once more!
"Treyzer!!!"
In the wind, Rod seemed to sense something drifting like threads in the air.
In that hazy breeze, it felt as if they were being pulled back to that summer when they first met.
“Hey, you’re my knight now.”
“Yeah.”
“You’ll protect me even if it means dying, right?”
“Of course.”
“Haha, then we’re companions. Let’s get to know each other; I’m Rod.”
“Treyzer.”
Their hands clasped together.
“Companions, huh? Farewell.”
