Chapter 304: Embracing in the Darkness
In a daze, Lu Fei Fan felt as if he were trapped in a long dream.
In this dream, a knight clad in Black Armor slowly approached him, piece by piece of the armor falling to the ground like living creatures. By the time the knight stood before Lu Fei Fan, only a Greatsword remained in her hand.
Clang.
The heavy Greatsword fell to the ground, but that did not hinder their gaze from locking onto each other, devoid of any words.
Yet Lu Fei Fan could see her face clearly; it was a visage of unparalleled beauty, flawless and captivating. Perhaps due to the dreamlike nature of the moment, he could not recall her exact features, only that she was so stunning that he could not tear his eyes away.
Without any warning or passionate words, only deep and affectionate glances, the next moment, they kissed as if erupting like a volcano.
In the darkness, heavy breaths echoed intermittently as their souls intertwined and collided.
Lu Fei Fan felt this was a sweet and blissful dream; her soft, cool lips sent tremors through his chest like thunder. He embraced her delicate form, her unique fragrance lingering at his nostrils. He wished this beautiful dream would last a little longer.
Women are always the gentle refuge for heroes. In her presence, Lu Fei Fan tasted sweetness and tenderness. He was tireless, sometimes gentle and sometimes wild. She transitioned from initial resistance to gradual acceptance, and again and again they came together, seemingly never satisfied or weary.
However, time is always merciless; no matter how long a dream lasts, it will eventually pull Lu Fei Fan from the tender world of endless affection.
When he opened his eyes, he saw a pair of delicate feet as beautiful as lotus petals, white and lustrous against the ground. He instinctively looked up to find slender legs enveloped in a flowing white dress that shimmered like jade.
"Fairy?"
Lu Fei Fan rubbed his eyes; it felt cool to the touch.
Looking down, he realized he was completely naked. Where were his clothes? He tried to get up, but as soon as he propped himself up, the sharp blade of a Greatsword pressed coldly against his neck. If the wielder applied even a little force, it could easily sever Lu Fei Fan's head.
"Give me a reason not to kill you," a voice as cold as frost rang out.
Countless excuses flashed through Lu Fei Fan's mind, but he was conscious of the things he had done in his dreams. Clearly, no matter how pale his words might be, they would fail to explain his actions.
"There isn't one." Lu Fei Fan slowly closed his eyes. A man should not lie or make excuses; he was not the kind of person who would evade responsibility just to survive. Regardless of the reasons behind his mistakes or responsibilities, he had no intention of shirking them, even in the face of death.
"Are you not afraid of dying?" the other person suddenly asked again.
"I am," Lu Fei Fan replied honestly. "But if I've made mistakes, I must bear the consequences."
"Good." The cold tone offered no hint of praise as the question continued, "Is there anything left unsaid?"
Lu Fei Fan thought of his father, bedridden at home, along with his mother and younger brother.
He took out two Divine Court Sacred Fruits and placed them on the ground. "Please buy a Jinwu Holy Blood Pill for one of my family members."
With that, Lu Fei Fan closed his eyes and said nothing more.
A breeze swept through, lifting the flowing White Dress. The woman holding the Twilight Greatsword against Lu Fei Fan's neck had stunning features, but her expression was frosty. Even with her long black hair billowing in the darkness, partially obscuring her face, she radiated an aura of lethal intent.
Lu Fei Fan kept his eyes closed for a long time. He had prepared himself for death; living a few more decades was already a gain. In his past life, he had fought against Wei Chong Yi Shou in darkness and lost his life. Although this life held some regrets, perfection was unattainable in this world. Death was not truly frightening.
But after a long moment, he still felt no movement from the cold blade at his neck. A gentle breeze brushed past him. Lu Fei Fan opened his eyes to find that the Greatsword was gone, and the woman in the beautiful white dress who resembled a fairy had vanished as well.
On the ground lay a Divine Court Sacred Fruit, and the other party had taken one.
Lu Fei Fan struggled to recall the other person's face, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not remember it clearly. The only thing that lingered in his mind was the beautiful, lotus-like feet, delicate and charming.
Was it really a farewell without a word?
For some reason, an overwhelming sense of loss surged within Lu Fei Fan. Perhaps they would never cross paths again in this lifetime. The fact that the other person could let him go was already a significant act of forgiveness; what more could he dare to wish for?
With a sigh, Lu Fei Fan got up, dressed, and carefully stored the Divine Court Sacred Fruit away. He slung the Whale Devouring Sword back over his shoulder.
The Bulky and Obese Dungeon Lord remained on one side. As for the Golden Explosive Sphere, Lu Fei Fan didn't need to think hard to understand what it was. He wasn't sure whether to hate or thank this Colossal Creature.
Kicking it a few times, he found its scales to be incredibly tough. He decided to take out the Whale Devouring Sword again and sliced off several pieces from its body, placing them into his Nano Ring. Once he finished this task, Lu Fei Fan began searching for an exit.
In a daze, a breeze swept by, and Lu Fei Fan moved forward with the wind.
After advancing for several hundred meters, he finally looked up to see a faint light shining down. Channeling Pulse Energy through the Whale Devouring Sword in his hand, he infused it with White Energy, sending forth a sword shadow that shot upward toward the weak light.
Boom!
The ground shook violently as rocks collapsed with a thunderous roar, revealing a gap blasted open by the White Sword Rainbow. Countless beams of light cascaded down from the opening.
Lu Fei Fan harnessed his Pulse Energy and leaped toward the gap with a powerful thrust.
As Bai Wu enveloped him, a cold wind swept down from the steep hillside, causing countless plants to rustle and howl in response.
Boom.
A rock exploded, and Lu Fei Fan's figure landed in the wilderness. She looked around, surrounded by desolate mountains and ridges. She had no idea where she was. Not far away stood a tall forest, ancient trees towering everywhere.
Could she have gone that way?
A strange thought crossed Lu Fei Fan's mind, for behind her lay the cold Abyss of the Cliff. Bai Wu had blocked everything, and she vaguely sensed an unpredictable danger lurking over there.
Sigh.
Lu Fei Fan sighed and ultimately decided to head toward the tall forest, hoping for a stroke of luck.
Little did she know, on a protruding rock of the mountain peak next to the Abyss of the Cliff, a white figure stood in the biting cold wind, her white dress and black hair fluttering. Leaning on a Greatsword, she gazed into the misty distance, as if watching something or perhaps nothing at all. After a moment, she lifted her sword and turned back toward the White Mist Sea, leaping into the abyss. That figure bounced back and forth in the chasm, disappearing without a trace in an instant.
As Lu Fei Fan made her way toward the tall forest, she soon heard gunfire. Her figure vanished into the trees like a hunting leopard. In the center of the forest, Lu Fei Fan discovered a Metal Tower, entwined with countless Vine Plants, blending seamlessly with the woods.
If it weren't for the blasted Tower Gate and the bodies strewn around, Lu Fei Fan might not have noticed this hidden tower within the forest.
After observing for a while, two Mercenaries emerged from the Tower Gate. Lu Fei Fan stealthily approached; it seemed these two were sent out to keep watch.
"What bad luck! We ended up on guard out here," one complained.
"Come on, who knows what dangers lie below?" the other tried to reassure his comrade.
Lu Fei Fan ghosted behind them; both Mercenaries were seasoned veterans of battle. Just as they instinctively reached for their sidearms, a sword was suddenly pressed against both of them.
“Move and you’ll lose your life immediately,” Lu Fei Fan said coldly.
The two men felt Lu Fei Fan approaching them silently, clearly not an ordinary person but a Pulse Energy Practitioner. Even though both of them were close to the General level, the weapon in his hand could easily take their lives.
“What’s down there?” Lu Fei Fan asked.
“I don’t know,” one of them replied.
“Is that so?” Lu Fei Fan didn’t believe him and pressed down slightly harder with the Whale Devouring Sword.
“Don’t make a move, we—” one of the mercenaries started to say.
“Hurry up,” Lu Fei Fan said impatiently.
“We don’t know what’s down there either. We just followed our boss and stumbled upon this Iron Tower. We came down to investigate, but several of our men have already died. We really don’t know what’s inside,” the man confessed truthfully.
Lu Fei Fan could tell from his tone that he wasn’t lying and asked, “How many of you are there?”
“There are about ten of us.” Before he could finish, Lu Fei Fan knocked him out with a swift strike.
The other man tried to draw his gun, but Lu Fei Fan was faster, striking his neck and knocking him unconscious as well.
Lu Fei Fan approached the entrance of the Iron Tower. The distorted and deformed Tower Gate had been pulled aside, clearly blown open by someone using brute force. He stepped through the Tower Gate and found himself in a large hall filled with dust. Aside from some dilapidated mechanical structures, there was nothing remarkable inside the tower.
“Hm?” Lu Fei Fan noticed a staircase extending downward in the center of the tower.
Was it really a passage to the underground?
Lu Fei Fan carefully descended the stairs, holding the Whale Devouring Sword. Upon reaching the underground, he found the space to be extremely vast, with two entrances on either side ahead of him.
After hesitating for a moment, Lu Fei Fan chose the left entrance. However, what lay before him was a long and deep corridor, suggesting that this was a complex underground structure resembling a maze.
As Lu Fei Fan ventured deeper into the maze, three others arrived at the entrance of the Iron Tower.
"These two seem to have been knocked out," Treyzer said, retracting his fingers from checking their pulse and straightening up.
"It looks like there must be some treasure inside," the cute Sebella speculated, her finger pressed against her lips.
"Let's go take a look," Rod said as he stepped inside first. Sebella followed closely behind, while Treyzer remained vigilant, scanning the surroundings. After confirming that there was no immediate danger, he cautiously turned to follow them into the tower.
But what secrets lay hidden within the mysterious Metal Tower's maze?
