Chapter 303: Merging One Sword
Roar!
The furious roar of the Dungeon Lord reverberated through the vast underground space, accompanied by a faint pulse of energy that caused rocks to collapse in the dark silence.
It lunged forward again, like a mountain, crashing through several stone structures.
Its target was the human clad in black armor, after all, it was this human who had plunged that damned greatsword into its body.
The Dungeon Lord's form barreled forward like a massive armored beast, but the shadowy figure nimbly dodged aside. The Dungeon Lord's claw-like appendages swept past, yet the tall black figure leaped gracefully as if made of paper, flipping to the side of the Dungeon Lord and grasping the Twilight Greatsword embedded in its body.
The blade emitted a brilliant dark purple glow. With a swift tug, whoosh!
The sharp edge carved a wound over a meter wide in the Dungeon Lord's body, dark viscous liquid splattering out, shimmering faintly. It was evident that the flesh and blood contained an abundance of pulse energy cells.
The Dungeon Lord was infuriated; its massive mouth opened wide in the darkness and spewed forth a dazzling emerald liquid that surged like a torrent. The Dark Knight quickly distanced himself from the colossal creature.
The liquid splashed onto the ground and rocks with a hissing sound, instantly corroding them into deep pits.
The corrosive power of this venom was astonishing; a single drop could erode several meters wide pits. The pits continued to emit smoke and reeked of a foul odor. If this venom came into contact with anyone, no matter how strong their armor was, they would likely be thoroughly corroded.
The Dark Knight realized that this Dungeon Lord was formidable; he quickly retreated in a circular motion, his greatsword occasionally glowing as he sought an opportunity to strike.
Seeing how agile this human was, the Dungeon Lord grew increasingly frustrated. Each time it lunged for an attack, the human easily evaded it. The speed was so fast that even Lu Fei Fan found it astonishing. Despite the darkness, Lu Fei Fan could see that the movements were exquisite and fluid, without any unnecessary actions.
The Black Knight left numerous sword marks on its body, but the Dungeon Lord would not sit idly by. Its surroundings erupted with swarms of locusts ignited in emerald green light, surging towards the Black Knight and Lu Fei Fan.
The Twilight Greatsword in the hands of the Black Knight formed an impenetrable web of blades, striking down numerous Swarm creatures that charged at him with thunderous force. However, the explosions from these Swarm released a continuous spray of Venom, which splattered onto his armor.
The Black Knight had no choice but to retreat, yet the Swarm surged forth relentlessly from within.
Lu Fei Fan had no intention of engaging in a direct confrontation; instead, he cleverly chose to turn around and flee in the direction they had come from.
The Black Knight noticed that Lu Fei Fan had already escaped, but the massive body of the Dungeon Lord trembled, causing the ground to rumble and collapse beneath them. The Black Knight leaped and landed deftly on a stone spike that jutted out from the cave ceiling, pushing off it like an arrow shooting into the air.
With a splat, the rushing Venom instantly corroded the stone spike into molten rock.
Yet, the Black Knight spun like a whirlwind, unleashing a strike with his sword that thundered toward the Dungeon Lord!
Clang!
To his astonishment, the Dungeon Lord's body collided with the sword, creating brilliant sparks. Immediately after, it swung its massive appendage, forcing the Black Knight to retreat in shock.
Just moments ago, its body could be easily sliced through by his Twilight Greatsword, but in such a short time, the Dungeon Lord's exterior had evolved to a point where even the Twilight Greatsword could not cut through it easily?
The rate of evolution was astonishing and alarmingly rapid!
The Black Knight quickly retreated, watching as this creature continued to evolve mid-battle. It seemed that the Dungeon Lord was constantly adjusting its weaknesses to counter its enemies—no, more accurately, its prey!
It appeared that this would be a fierce battle.
In the darkness, the footsteps of Lu Fei Fan seemed to linger before rushing back, even faster than when he had turned to flee.
The Black Knight turned to look into the shadows, and sure enough, the figure carrying the Greatsword was running back towards him.
Lu Fei Fan reached a few steps away from the Black Knight and explained, “A more vicious group is coming from that direction!”
As soon as he finished speaking, he drew his sword, positioning it defensively against the Black Knight, remaining on high alert.
Immediately after, a rustling sound like a tide rose from all directions. Before long, countless green lights flickered to life in the darkness, their sheer number somewhat frightening. The Black Knight lightly flicked his slender fingers against the Twilight Greatsword, producing a soft chime that echoed around them. The sword’s blade emitted a faint glow, illuminating their surroundings.
All around them were creatures resembling crawling beetles, each weighing several kilograms. Their backs were covered in unsettling bubbles filled with purple Fungal Liquid. They watched the two humans with predatory intent but did not attack immediately.
They dared not overstep the authority of their master.
The Dungeon Lord slowly crawled through the darkness. The Fungal Beetles surrounding Lu Fei Fan and the Black Knight quickly parted to make way for him.
“It seems we have no choice but to join forces!” Lu Fei Fan declared as the Whale Devouring Sword in his hand sparked to life, illuminating the advancing Swarm of Fungal Liquid that hesitated to approach. The mass extended across the ground, appearing to stretch into the hundreds or even thousands, sending shivers down their spines.
The Black Knight remained silent, raising his Twilight Greatsword. The blade was enveloped in a fierce Purple Black Pulsation. He did not turn back to strike at Lu Fei Fan but clearly acknowledged his suggestion for cooperation.
“However, I never expected you would be a…”
A roar interrupted Lu Fei Fan's words as the Dungeon Lord unleashed a thunderous sound that reverberated throughout the vast underground space. Numerous stone pillars cracked and collapsed during this upheaval, directly crushing many of the Fungal Beetles. The Fungal Liquid from their shattered backs immediately flooded nearby Swarms, causing many to dissolve and corrode away, though several managed to evade swiftly.
The Twilight Greatsword vibrated with incredible speed, its astonishing swordsmanship transforming into a black dragon that surged forth, crashing towards the Dungeon Lord.
The clang of battle erupted behind Lu Fei Fan. Though he could not see the splashes of light or the bursts of energy, the thunderous collisions made it clear that the intensity of the fight was palpable.
As the Fungal Beetles stirred restlessly, taking advantage of the Dungeon Lord's distraction, they slowly advanced in droves towards Lu Fei Fan. He took a few steps back, feeling that retreat was no longer an option; otherwise, the space left for the Black Knight to fight would be severely limited.
With a sudden thrust, the Natural Devouring Sword plunged into the ground with a resounding thud!
Raging Pulse Energy surged into the earth, spreading out like an electric net in all directions. In an instant, the ground shook violently, erupting with explosive sounds, accompanied by sparks of lightning. Countless Fungal Beetles were instantly reduced to sludge by the impact of the energy surge, while smoke and foul odors rose from the ground.
Yet, more Fungal Beetles continued to flood in to fill the gaps around them. Even after Lu Fei Fan's powerful strike, they remained undeterred, charging forward without regard for the Dungeon Lord's control.
Lu Fei Fan felt as if he had poked a hornet's nest. He had no choice but to unleash a Mind Storm within his heart. The entire underground space trembled slightly as the Black Knight, entangled with the Dungeon Lord, was suddenly sent flying. Before he hit the ground, he slammed his Greatsword down hard, unleashing Purple Pulse Energy that exploded and shattered dozens of Fungal Beetles beneath him before he landed and bounced back up.
All of the Pulse Energy began to swirl around Lu Fei Fan in an instant. They spun and formed delicate white petals that constructed a Hurricane Circle, enveloping both him and the Black Knight within. As the Black Knight landed inside this Energy Hurricane, he watched as the Pulse Energy Storm swirled like blades, with rolling Fungal Beetles being caught up in it and crushed into liquid.
The Dungeon Lord roared in fury, opening its mouth wide to unleash a Green Energy Sphere. This time it was not sludge but pure Chaos Pulse Energy!
Boom!
The Pulse Energy collided with the Energy Hurricane, creating a shockwave explosion that sent countless Fungal Beetles flying.
The Dungeon Lord suddenly unleashed a second burst of chaotic energy towards the Black Knight. In response, the Black Knight gathered all his Pulse Energy to shield Lu Fei Fan, effectively protecting him once again.
However, Three Thousand Flying Blossoms was not Lu Fei Fan's ultimate killing move; what he sought was that fleeting moment when the Dungeon Lord opened its mouth!
Lu Fei Fan suddenly pulled back the Black Knight, and with a thunderous strike of the Whale Devouring Sword, countless snowflakes drifted down. The violent Pulse Energy surged from within Lu Fei Fan, transforming into an astonishing White Sword Rainbow that pierced through the air!
Boom!
The sword rainbow penetrated the green Pulse Energy of the Dungeon Lord, colliding in mid-air. The turbulent shockwaves rolled like blades, tearing at Lu Fei Fan's armor, while his Mask cracked in an instant, revealing his youthful and handsome face.
The Black Knight behind him was oblivious to the shattering of Lu Fei Fan's Mask; he could only sense that the fierce clash of Pulse Energy was continuously draining Lu Fei Fan's strength. The Dungeon Lord's Pulse Energy appeared robust and fierce, indicating it was exceptionally abundant and thick.
In contrast, Lu Fei Fan unleashed all his power in a single strike, the surging Pulse Energy flowing like a river. This astonishing consumption made even the Black Knight feel it couldn't be sustained for long. After pondering for a few brief seconds, just as Lu Fei Fan felt his body being drained and torn apart, a spring-like Pulse Energy surged from behind him.
This Pulse Energy appeared dark purple; although it felt out of place with him, it still replenished Lu Fei Fan's nearly exhausted energy. He had initially thought one strike would penetrate the Dungeon Lord but had underestimated the terrifying depth of this formidable Fellow's Pulse Energy.
With abundant Pulse Energy flowing into him, Lu Fei Fan boiled with renewed vigor. He roared again, channeling all the energy into his body for this strike, daring not to hold back any longer!
Thus, the White Sword Rainbow was enveloped in dark purple electric sparks as it shot forth like a thunderous bolt!
Boom!
The green Dungeon Lord was violently pierced by the combined might of the white and purple Greatsword rainbow, light bursting forth as it passed through its massive body.
In the next moment, the colossal form of the Dungeon Lord crashed down onto the Ground, lifeless.
Even the Fungal Beetles fell to the ground in a cascade of death.
With a crack, an oval Jin Dan rolled out from the Dungeon Lord's body and landed at Lu Fei Fan's feet.
“Hmm? What is this?” Lu Fei Fan looked at the object rolling out from the body of the Dungeon Lord. Could it be its egg? That must be a valuable treasure!
The faint golden glow of the Jin Dan illuminated the somewhat pale yet stunning face of the Black Knight as he turned around.
“Here you go?” Lu Fei Fan innocently extended the Jin Dan.
Boom!
The Jin Dan suddenly exploded, transforming into a cloud of golden mist that enveloped the two of them.
Caught off guard, they stared at each other in shock.
It’s over!
A thought flashed quickly through Lu Fei Fan's mind.
Sometimes, what you have to fight against is not just this world, but also yourself. Longing can make time feel so difficult and slow.
