The Black Cubes surged towards the caves like a swarm, sparking as they brushed against the black cubes. They sprouted limbs and heads, even developing thin, cicada-like wings on their backs, transforming into black Carapace insects that settled on the White Emperor Star Fruits, which gleamed like Night Pearls.
The fruits, shimmering with crystalline light, were quickly swarmed by these Black Beetles. One by one, the insects plucked the fruits from the vines, spreading their wings and flying back with the bright fruits cradled in their arms.
From a distance, it appeared as though clusters of black beetles were carrying the glowing White Emperor Star Fruits towards the Flying Ship. On the other side of the ship, a large opening revealed even more black cubes pouring out.
The scene resembled a mothership that was swallowing and spitting out flying insects, sending shivers down one’s spine.
Inside the Flying Ship, Lu Fei Fan gazed at the mountain-like pile of White Emperor Star Fruits with an indescribable sense of impending wealth. However, he realized that if these fruits flooded the trading market, their value would likely plummet.
Doors on both sides of the ship opened wide. On the right side, a continuous stream of Golden Cube Carapace insects carried White Emperor Star Fruits inside, precisely dropping them into the accumulating pile before flying out again to continue their journey to the caves.
Within those caves, countless fruits were being carried away by thousands of these black cubes disguised as insects. Wherever they passed, it was like a swarm of locusts; all the White Emperor Star Fruits on the tree vines were swept clean. The once bright cave, resembling a starry sky, quickly turned dim, with only the faint glow of the remaining Tree Vines of White Emperor Star Fruits indicating they had not been consumed by those terrifying black swarms.
Lu Fei Fan did not wish to destroy the vine of star fruits. Regardless of whether it belonged to Bai Di Cheng or the outside world, it had a right to survive.
Moreover, Lu Fei Fan felt that destroying such a vast-rooted White Emperor Starfruit Vine would be regrettable. He believed he could not bring himself to do it. Thus, he communicated his intentions to the Magic Cube Beetles, instructing them to carefully harvest the fruits without harming the vine.
Lu Fei Fan stored all the White Emperor Star Fruits in his Space Nano Ring. Once both rings were full and as they ventured deeper into increasingly sparse fruit-laden caves, Lu Fei Fan ordered the black beetles to return.
When the last batch of beetles returned, Lu Fei Fan sat in the main seat of the Flying Ship. A thought crossed his mind as he recalled a year and immediately commanded, “Initiate scanning for this area.”
The Flying Ship produced a map on its virtual screen that was not very detailed; other blank areas displayed Energy Interference warnings indicating they could not be scanned.
This surprised Lu Fei Fan; he had expected this level of Flying Ship to be able to scan all maps of Bai Di Cheng. Yet there remained so many areas affected by interference.
“Hm?” Lu Fei Fan looked at the map and noticed that an adjacent mountain peak area was flickering with Golden Energy interference?
“This area has the strongest Energy Interference; could there be something extraordinary there?” Lu Fei Fan tapped his fingers on the main seat. Suddenly an idea struck him as a cup of Fruit Juice extracted from White Emperor Starfruit floated before him. He picked it up and added an ice-cold effect.
The sweet and clear juice surged into his body like energy. Lu Fei Fan’s body crackled with sounds as his Pulse Energy cells boiled with joy, flourishing like they had been nourished by refreshing rainwater, sprouting vigorous branches and leaves in abundance.
In that chaotic void, as one star ignited, a blazing sun would follow. After Lu Fei Fan drank the White Emperor Starfruit Juice, stars began to light up one after another, illuminating five regions in total, and five suns soon followed suit.
The Giant Whale's Breath circulating within Lu Fei Fan also began to surge, its pulse resembling that of a long-dormant giant beast awakening, exuding a magnificent aura. The Pulse Energy, which had originally gathered into a pond, transformed in an instant into a flowing river. The form of the Giant Whale expanded from the cramped pond, becoming excited as it let out a roar into the void.
The pond morphed into a sprawling river stretching far into the distance. In this newly formed waterway, vegetation sprouted around it, teeming with life.
This was the manifestation of the Pulse Energy cells within Lu Fei Fan's body. The circulating cells consumed the Pulse Energy and transformed it into a rushing river, led by a still relatively weak Giant Whale.
When Lu Fei Fan opened his eyes, his black irises seemed to deepen significantly. Surrounding his dark pupils was a shimmering flow of Pulse Energy that continuously elevated his aura, raising it from that of a Special Class General to that of a Top War General in an instant.
Unbeknownst to Lu Fei Fan, above the Flying Ship, a massive vortex was forming. Countless dark clouds swirled slowly around it like a gigantic millstone, while flashes of lightning crackled within the clouds, resembling protests from the earth itself.
Yet Lu Fei Fan remained oblivious. As he opened his eyes and recognized himself at the level of a Top War General, he raised his hand, where sparks of lightning flickered incessantly. They shifted in his palm, subtly transforming into mist that turned into dew, which then coalesced into rotating crystals that danced in the air.
Ultimately, the ball of lightning in Lu Fei Fan's hand transformed entirely into dense fog before becoming dew again. Finally crystallizing into beautiful ice flowers that spun and twirled under his control.
If anyone were to witness this scene, they would undoubtedly exclaim in astonishment: Pulse Energy crystallization!
This represented an astonishingly pure form of Pulse Energy. The transformation from mist to dew already indicated an incredibly refined state of Pulse Energy; its crystallization was an extraordinary rarity.
Lu Fei Fan was unaware that his Pulse Energy had reached such purity; he attributed it to the creative power of the Mind Weaver.
However, this was precisely the sign of Pulse Energy crystallization—a realm that would evoke envy in countless others. Yet Lu Fei Fan felt that his previous accumulation of Pulse Energy had broadened significantly.
Nonetheless, Lu Fei Fan wanted to express his gratitude to Hai Dongqing and Shangguan Wan'er for giving up their White Emperor Star Fruits. Now he possessed at least ten thousand White Emperor Star Fruits; there was no way he could consume them all alone. Even if he could eat them all, he wouldn't be able to digest them—he would either burst or die from overeating.
So what was it that was more important than these fruits that made Hai Dongqing and Shangguan Wan'er willing to forgo them?
Lu Fei Fan extended his hand into the void; wherever his fingertips touched down, a light key illuminated. The Flying Ship quickly camouflaged itself and merged with the surrounding air before vanishing with a swift motion in mid-air.
In the underground cave, thunderous roars echoed intermittently, the sounds of explosions resembling thunder or the furious growls of a colossal beast.
Lian Qingzong, covered in blood, swung his Fire Cloud Broad Sword, striking the giant wolf. The beast radiated a powerful Pulse Energy, its claws crashing down like thunder upon Lian Qingzong. After enduring two blows, he was violently slammed against the cave wall, blood oozing continuously from the corner of his mouth.
In his mind, the figure of Lu Fei Fan, adorned with an elegant demeanor, surfaced. All of today’s tribulations were brought upon him by this person.
"Hahaha, it’s you... I will not let you go."
The Giant Wolf Lord was furious; this feeble human proved to be unexpectedly troublesome. It had lost its armor and gained numerous wounds from their confrontation—truly an irritating pest.
With a furious swipe of its claw, the air crackled with thunderous winds as it struck the ground. The hard rock shattered like tofu upon contact with its claw.
"You will not succeed!" Lian Qingzong suddenly launched himself from the pile of rubble, his Fire Cloud Broad Sword radiating a scorching light as he poured all his energy into it.
The giant wolf roared in anger and swiped again, sending Lian Qingzong and his sword flying, crashing through walls and disappearing into the depths.
The wolf let out a roar, believing that the battle was finally over and that it could end this human once and for all.
Suddenly, the underground rocks exploded violently. With a thunderous roar, torrents of molten lava surged upward, breaking through layers of ground, engulfing the giant wolf in searing light and unbearable heat.
The wolf flailed its claws wildly, attempting to grasp onto the rocks for stability. However, every rock it touched crumbled to pieces beneath its grip as its massive body plummeted into a blazing sea of fire below.
A howl echoed through the air as the giant wolf roared in frustration. The cave reverberated with its cries, but all struggles were in vain.
It plunged into the molten ocean, attempting to rise but flames quickly engulfed its body. Though it splashed molten rock around in its frantic struggle, it soon sank beneath the fiery depths.
In the darkness, a bloodied hand emerged from the rubble.
The Bai Di Cheng has five peaks, one of which is the Main Peak. The summit of the mountains is covered in a thick layer of pristine white snow, and the buildings stretch from the mountainside to the peak itself. An elderly one-eyed Mercenary spread out a precious gray-black sheepskin map in his hands, then looked up at the Main Peak that loomed close before him.
"We're almost at the halfway point," he confirmed after checking the route to ensure he hadn’t made a mistake. He folded the sheepskin map and turned to look at the towering man in front of him, who wielded a massive shield and a meteor hammer. The man's face was marked with scars that resembled knife cuts and axe wounds, adding an intimidating air to his presence. He looked as solid as a mountain, his muscles well-defined, clearly someone who could withstand even a Zhan Dao strike without injury.
Behind him stood a tall, lean man holding a staff, his sharp eyes seeming to pierce through everything around him. Both were Top War Generals, hired by the Commerce Alliance.
Following them were ten capable team members, each one either a high-ranking or Special-Class General.
"Alright," the burly man responded with a deep voice, raising his hand to signal those behind him to follow. But suddenly, an odd sound of hooves echoed behind them.
They turned to see four warhorses emerging slowly from the thin mist at the mountainside, each carrying a tall figure!
"Prepare for battle!" shouted Qiu Jie Da Han, his copper arms and iron fists poised for confrontation.
Immediately, everyone drew their weapons, turning to face the four figures approaching through the forest.
