The shadow moved too quickly, like lightning flashing across the sky!
Lu Fei Fan raised his sword in defense, but the shadow seemed to have a life of its own, weaving around the Whale Devouring Sword and splitting into two, lunging towards him!
Suddenly, Lu Fei Fan felt a sharp pain in his mind, as if something had pierced through. A beam of light erupted from the top of his head, striking the Black Living Entity like a bolt of lightning.
Lu Fei Fan felt as if he had narrowly escaped a deadly grasp. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the white light he had unleashed was entangled in a fierce struggle with the black mist. They twisted and turned in mid-air like two Jiao She, intertwining and dancing, yet it seemed more like they were evenly matched opponents rather than simply entangled.
What shocked Lu Fei Fan even more was that the black mist was not just a thick fog; it was composed of countless tiny black cubes, each about the size of a fingernail. Yet they moved together like a living Magic Cube, capable of transforming into any shape—be it a Serpent Blade, a fan shape, misty forms, or even twisting and contorting in dazzling variations that left one bewildered.
The white light was none other than the Magic Cube that had protected Lu Fei Fan in his past life!
It was this very entity that had shielded him from those strange creatures resembling black sludge aboard the Ancient Airship. Its appearance here clearly related to his crossing over.
The black Magic Cube entity continued to spiral around the white Golden Cube, testing each other's defenses with tentative collisions. Eventually, a strand of black mist composed of multiple Black Cubes broke away from the white Golden Cube and sped towards another section of the Flying Ship's hall.
Bang!
On the other side, Lian Qingzong was engaged in battle with another cluster of Black Cubes. The Fire Cloud Broad Sword danced like a burning dragon in the darkness, constantly clashing with the thick black mist.
The black Magic Cube entity seemed to be made of some unknown material. The Pulse Energy generated by Lian Qingzong's strikes resonated with a Beast Roar Thunder Sound. Despite being under double gravity and having just broken through to the realm of War God, Lian Qingzong managed to hold his ground against the elusive black mist-like Golden Cube while maintaining his defense against its agile attacks.
If he survived this ordeal in such an intense environment, his realm would undoubtedly see significant improvement soon.
However, dealing with the black mist-like Golden Cube was already pushing him to his limits. If not for several evasive maneuvers using Fire Wings, he might have already been severely injured by those bizarre forms attacking him.
Just as he struggled to hold on and sought a way out, another shadow darted forward like a vicious Jiao She in the night, aiming for an opening on Lian Qingzong's left side.
Lian Qingzong was taken aback and quickly swung his Fire Cloud Broad Sword. Clang!
He stumbled backward as both clusters of mist moved with uncanny coordination. Like fish in water, they turned mid-air without making contact yet simultaneously lunged towards Lian Qingzong.
“Damn it!” Lian Qingzong cursed as he suddenly found himself under attack by a dark entity that had lunged at Lu Fei Fan. Had Lu Fei Fan already been killed by this black creature?
Ignoring his doubts, Lian Qingzong swung the Fire Cloud Broad Sword and turned to flee the cabin.
Bang!
The black mist crashed into him from behind. He struggled to maintain his Pulse Shield, which burst forth as a transparent, fiery red Light Shield around him. Another wave of black mist slammed into his Light Shield, causing cracks to appear. He let out a muffled groan, refusing to let his guard down. Channeling all his Pulse Energy, he kept moving swiftly, not daring to pause.
Bang! Bang! Bang—
The two waves of black mist took turns crashing against the Light Shield Lian Qingzong had constructed. Finally, with one last impact, the Light Shield shattered. In that instant, Lian Qingzong swiftly turned and raised his Fire Cloud Broad Sword in defense.
Bang!
Lian Qingzong was knocked back, crashing against the metal wall of the ship and falling to the ground. The immense force nearly made him spit blood.
However, he quickly looked up and noticed a gap nearby. Without a second thought, he grabbed the Fire Cloud Broad Sword and leaped through it, escaping the grip of five times gravity. As he relaxed his body, most of his Pulse Energy flowed smoothly. With a flap of his Fire Wings, he soared away from the perilous Ancient Ship.
Yet, a Golden Stream of Light shot out from within the ship with a whoosh, illuminating the entire underground space like a sword aimed directly at Lian Qingzong's back!
Lian Qingzong fell straight down in a parabolic arc but managed to rise again, appearing heavy and slow as he tried to escape.
Inside the ship, Lu Fei Fan watched regretfully as the energy formed from white Energy Cubes disintegrated into individual Magic Cubes above his head. These cubes reassembled into a rapidly spinning Golden Cube. Once the final piece fit into place, its mission was temporarily complete; its light dimmed and shot into Lu Fei Fan's mind before vanishing.
Seeing this scene had long ceased to surprise Lu Fei Fan.
“What a pity,” Lu Fei Fan said as he removed his glasses and gazed at Lian Qingzong's fleeing figure in the distance, feeling quite regretful.
Watching Lian Qingzong escape from the pursuit of the two waves of black mist, he thought that if only he had an energy weapon to take a shot at him, perhaps he could eliminate this trouble—if not kill him outright, at least bring him down for those two waves of black mist.
Although the missile fired from the Magic Cube struck Lian Qingzong and knocked him down, the two waves of free Golden Cubes chased after him to the ship's opening. Like fish reaching the edge of their territory, they turned back and circled near the gap, watching as Lian Qingzong slowly flew away in midair, his figure growing more distant.
It seemed unlikely that he would ever return to this place again.
Having missed such a great opportunity to resolve the troublesome situation, Lu Fei Fan naturally felt regretful. However, it was fortunate that the other party did not recognize him.
After watching the troublesome figure leave, two Black Fog Cubes flew back and began to swirl around Lu Fei Fan. They showed no signs of aggression; instead, it seemed they were carefully sniffing his energy aura.
Were these two life-like Magic Cubes animals or machines?
He couldn't tell for sure, but one thing was certain: they were clearly a form of life energy connected to the protective white square. They must have been created by the civilization that built this Flying Ship.
To create a substance with intelligent life forms, one would need an incredibly advanced level of technological civilization.
At least in Lu Fei Fan's understanding, neither his past life nor the current Free Federation possessed such capabilities—perhaps those mysterious lighthouses could.
After completing their sniffing, the two black squares transformed into wisps of mist and slipped through the gap in the cabin door that had been pierced by Lian Qingzong. Shortly after, the Gate of the Main Control Room rumbled open.
With a loud clang—
The heavy door shook, and long-accumulated dust fell from above.
The spacious control room appeared before Lu Fei Fan.
As he stepped inside, he noticed the towering Gate, nearly ten meters high and three to four meters thick. The entire structure was made of a Black Metal material that he couldn't identify; even dozens of heavy artillery strikes might not be able to penetrate its thickness and resilience.
Once Lu Fei Fan entered, the Gate slammed shut behind him. Darkness briefly enveloped his vision, but after a moment, light returned. This time, it felt as though he was immersed in the vast Galactic Universe, with countless planets appearing like grains of sand around him. The sight almost made Lu Fei Fan's legs buckle; standing in the true cosmos made him feel incredibly insignificant.
As those planets drifted by, suddenly two wisps of black mist darted past him on either side. Following this, a black passageway emerged beneath his feet, resembling a grand avenue leading into the depths of the vast universe.
Lu Fei Fan walked along this avenue for nearly a hundred meters until he reached its end. There stood a tall chair with a high back facing away from him—was that the control console?
He slowed his pace, and the Whale Devouring Sword in his hand began to crackle with electric energy. It seemed Lu Fei Fan sensed a presence sitting in that Main Throne Chair turned away from him.
The closer Lu Fei Fan got, the more nervous he became. The unknown creature had boldly allowed him to enter; was there some sort of trap or method to deal with him?
Or perhaps this civilization's beings simply had no concept of death? Or was it that killing him would be as easy as breathing?
Indeed, just the two swirling black mists surrounding the Main Seat were already enough to pose a lethal threat.
He was getting closer—ten meters away.
Still, there was no sign of movement.
Five meters.
Three meters.
Two meters!
One meter!
With the Whale Devouring Sword enveloped in a surge of energy, Lu Fei Fan leaped forward, aiming to strike at whatever was on the Main Seat!
But just as his sword was about to descend, he caught sight of the figure on the Main Seat and abruptly halted. He yanked the Whale Devouring Sword back, twisting in mid-air to land safely on the ground, gasping for breath.
Kneeling on one knee, he leaned on his sword and gazed at the figure on the Main Seat. No, to be precise, it was a corpse of a Decayed Giant!
Moreover, this Giant belonged to a race he had seen in his previous life!
Yes, this giant resembled those he had encountered aboard the Void Leviathan. Back then, they had all been lying in stone coffins—was this a cemetery for the Giant Race?
Before him sat a giant in a petrified state. Its eyes were hollow, and its body rigid and stone-like, frozen in a seated position as if gazing into the distance. One hand clutched its chest, and its mouth was agape in what seemed like a silent scream of pain, forever fixed against the backrest of the Main Seat.
Two black mist-like Golden Cubes spun around continuously, like playful fish unaware that their master had been dead for many years.
Lu Fei Fan could not determine how many years the giant had been dead, but there was an astonishing wound on its chest.
Hmm?
Suddenly, Lu Fei Fan noticed his finger pointing in a certain direction.
Following the direction, he walked forward and found a strange button. After hesitating for a moment, he decided to press it.
In front of the Main Seat, the vast expanse of the universe that surrounded him suddenly transformed into a 360-degree invincible virtual screen!
It could even switch screens?
Lu Fei Fan was secretly astonished as the enormous screen immediately displayed an image.
On the screen, a figure appeared.
