Freedom and destiny have always favored those who strive tirelessly. 0

Of course, destiny is inherently unfair; many may spend their entire lives without reaching the heights that some achieve. 0

There are countless opportunities to change one's fate, but not everyone can seize the fleeting chances that arise. The heavens treat the world as a chessboard, with all living beings as pieces. Whether it is the overwhelming tide of fate or the drifting lives of individuals, they all represent the intricate dynamics of this earthly chess game. 0

In Bai Di Cheng, a complex and chaotic game unfolds, with countless threads and tangled situations that no one can definitively predict. Yet every Big Shot standing atop this world knows that the vested interests in Bai Di Cheng will shape the future power dynamics, whether it be from the Free Federation or the Alliance Empire, all eyes are on this place. 0

Thus, Bai Di Cheng has become a battlefield for numerous strategic contests, where many Big Shots cast their pieces onto this vast board, each hoping to influence the situation even slightly. 0

However, the window for entering the Great Whirlpool is limited. Just as most entrants have made their way inside, battles outside the Great Whirlpool have come to an end. The Human War God, along with several powerful allies, paid a heavy price to slay the Scorpion Monster guarding the entrance to the Great Whirlpool. 0

The elder who faced off against the Human War God has since vanished from the ranks of war gods, having fulfilled his duty in that battle, with no hope of returning to the War God Realm. 0

As instability loomed, the entrance to the Great Whirlpool began to close. Yet around the Sea Surface, ancient warships and vessels lingered, waiting for another chance to enter as they drifted about. 0

Missing this opportunity to enter the Great Whirlpool would mean waiting decades or even a century for another chance. 0

When the Great Whirlpool closed, there were attempts made by others to enter; however, all returned empty-handed, some even meeting their doom as they were crushed by the chaotic forces of the whirlpool. 0

Outside, no one knew what was happening within Bai Di Cheng inside the Great Whirlpool. Some were anxious, others merely observed; many felt regret and frustration for not seizing this opportunity in time. 0

Logically speaking, those from the Free Federation had a numerical advantage. However, many were unaware of how the Alliance Empire could possibly know that the Great Whirlpool had opened in an area under Free Federation control. 0

This raises many speculations; for instance, some individuals from the Free Federation may have leaked information to the Alliance Empire. 0

Naturally, with this event unfolding, it is believed that the Military Intelligence Agency of the Free Federation has already begun its operations. 0

After the closure of the Great Whirlpool Passage, dark clouds continued to flicker with lightning. The dense clouds blocked any light from penetrating through; even during daylight hours, it felt no different from night. The stormy winds over the Sea Surface showed little change as well. Many sturdy ancient warships remained like schools of fish circling around what was left of the Great Whirlpool's collapsed entrance, waiting for an opportunity. 0

At that moment, a bolt of lightning struck down from above. At the edge of the clouds appeared a streak of light that shone like a dazzling star. This sight drew numerous powerful individuals aboard their vessels to leap into action, channeling their Pulse Energy in defense against this sudden celestial phenomenon. 0

When it came to a halt above the Great Whirlpool, those who had taken flight were left astonished; they realized that what they had thought was a brilliant star was actually a person! 0

An old man stood there, wearing an unremarkable white square hat, while his striking red robe billowed in the wind, almost shimmering with a divine glow that was dazzling to behold. 0

Even more astonishing were the two guards behind him. They wore armor with only a narrow slit for their eyes, their gleaming suits radiating a light as if blessed by the heavens. Each held a white spear, their wings unfurled like those of a Lightwing Guardian, standing protectively behind the Cardinal Red figure. 0

"Is that... the Cardinal Red?" someone gasped upon seeing the two distinct winged guardians. 0

"What is the Cardinal Red?" another asked. 0

"A Fallen Messenger summoned from afar..." 0

The Cardinal Red stood above the Great Whirlpool, surveying the scene with a murmured incantation. His hands were clasped together, and with a flick of his left hand, countless streams of light erupted forth, blazing like the sun. 0

Just as he was about to unleash this radiant energy upon the collapsing Great Whirlpool, a voice interrupted him. 0

"Hey, you know it’s not good to break the rules like this, right?" The voice was languid and relaxed. 0

Upon hearing this, the Cardinal Red's expression changed instantly. He quickly withdrew his glowing hand and turned to face the source of the voice. 0

The crowd below erupted in astonishment. 0

"Who is that person?" 0

"How did he appear?" 0

"Did he just materialize out of thin air?" 0

"Look at his attire; it seems just like..." 0

"Could it be..." 0

The figure across from them was strikingly handsome, appearing to be just over twenty years old. Dressed in casual blue clothing, he reclined lazily on what looked like a transparent water carpet, propping his head up with one hand. Even more bizarrely, he held an umbrella. 0

Was he afraid of rain? 0

The bewildered onlookers were taken aback, only to discover that the transparent water curtain carpet was completely supporting him in mid-air, soft and comfortable. The young man lazily yawned, then opened his mouth wide, sleepily gazing at Cardinal Red across from him. 0

"It’s been ten years since we last met; I didn’t expect you to still be the same," Cardinal Red remarked, closing his palms together, though a cross had mysteriously appeared in his hands. 0

"Look who’s here at Cardinal Red! Haha, you’re getting old enough to be buried soon, yet you still come here to stir up trouble. That’s not very good, esteemed Gregory," the young man squinted at him with a lazy expression. 0

"Alas, I’m just following orders," Cardinal Red replied, appearing quite helpless. 0

"Oh? Is it your meddlesome Majesty or your Pope who hasn’t stepped out in decades?" the young man inquired tentatively. 0

Father Gregory shook his head, clearly unwilling to divulge such confidential matters. 0

"Then are we going to have a fight?" The young man finished speaking as he loosened the umbrella he was holding. It floated into the air, and astonishingly, light burst forth from it with a roar. 0

The ground trembled with the beastly roar. 0

A colossal wave surged from the surface of the umbrella, rolling forth and converging into an astonishing Colossal Creature. In the blink of an eye, it stood proudly, slowly twisting its lifelike body made of thick water columns around the young man. 0

--- 0

Those watching from below certainly noticed the massive water dragon that had suddenly appeared above. The Pulse Energy it radiated exerted an invisible pressure upon them like a mountain looming overhead, causing many to shiver uncontrollably in mid-air. 0

"This power..." 0

"Who is he..." 0

"State Protector! State Protector!" 0

"Could he be Zhao Yu Shi, the State Protector of the Free Federation who can summon winds and rain? How does he look barely over twenty?" 0

"You know nothing! He’s just returned to his true form; with his level of power, anyone might look like that." 0

"That one over there seems to be Gregory, the State Protector of the Alliance Empire!" 0

The sudden exclamation sent the crowd into a frenzy once more. 0

Two State Protectors had unexpectedly descended upon the Great Whirlpool? 0

Could it be that something uncontrollable was happening within the Great Whirlpool? Everyone speculated about what could have caused the two State Protectors to appear here. These top human powerhouses could easily destroy an island with a mere flick of their hands, so their presence undoubtedly indicated that something significant was about to unfold. 0

Roar! 0

The massive water dragon coiled in front of Zhao Yu Shi opened its mouth wide, letting out a roar that shook the ground, clearly challenging Gregory. 0

Behind Gregory, two Fallen Messengers wielding Holy Lances unfurled their luminous wings and appeared before him, seemingly on high alert against the water dragon's hostile provocation. 0

The standoff between the two sides felt as if it could erupt at any moment. 0

"Are we fighting or not?" Zhao Yu Shi squinted, propping his head up lazily while half-reclining on the water carpet. The slowly moving body of the water dragon crackled with sparks as it rubbed against the surrounding water, yet he appeared quite certain. 0

Gregory shook his head and sighed helplessly. "I dislike fighting the most. But this world is absurdly one where many matters are decided by brute strength." 0

"Stop wasting time. If we're going to fight, let’s get on with it. If not, I’d rather wrap things up and go home to sleep." With that, the young man, a State Protector of the Free Federation, yawned, showing clear signs of boredom. 0

"We saw some images in the Holy Grail's waters," Gregory began. 0

"Hmm?" Zhao Yu Shi narrowed his eyes at him. 0

The Holy Grail of the Holy See was a sacred artifact said to contain holy water that could glimpse into future events. It was even rumored that drinking from it could bring one back from death or restore youth. 0

"There are some things within it that do not belong to this world," Gregory pointed toward the Great Whirlpool as he spoke. 0

"So you want to go in?" Zhao Yu Shi caught onto the main point, still lazily resting his head as he regarded this old acquaintance. 0

"Not meant as an offense, but if they were to manifest in this world, it might very well become hell itself," Gregory hoped to persuade Zhao Yu Shi. 0

"Alas, I’m just following protocol here. You have your reasons, and I have my duties; rules cannot be broken," Zhao Yu Shi sat up straight and replied earnestly. 0

“Do you really have the heart to unleash the demons from hell to torment the living?” Gregory said with a sense of helplessness. It was something that could be prevented, yet he was bound by many so-called rules of the world. 0

“Even without demons, this world is already absurd beyond measure. Sorry, but how about we settle this with a fight? If you win, you can go in; if you lose, you go back. That way, I can report back without any issues,” Zhao Yu Shi replied, stretching lazily. 0

Gregory sighed and shook his head. With a flick of his finger, a beam of light shot into the Great Whirlpool's crack. 0

Zhao Yu Shi did not make a move to stop him. His task was simply to prevent the old man from entering the Great Whirlpool; he had no interest in what else happened. 0

“The decisions we make now will shape our future. Perhaps, at this moment, Hell's Gate has already been opened.” 0

With that, Gregory and the two Fallen Messengers transformed into a shining star and vanished in an instant. Zhao Yu Shi, still seated, pondered over the old man's last two sentences with curiosity. He then waved his hand, causing the massive water column dragon to dissipate completely. Yawning, he reclined again on the water carpet and reached up to retrieve his umbrella, which returned to his shoulder. 0

With a swish, the sky seemed to distort for a moment. When those below looked closely again, they found that there were no longer any figures present. 0

Many people squinted their eyes to confirm and realized that they had indeed vanished, secretly astonished by the flight capabilities of this State Protector. 0

More speculations arose: what important information had these two State Protectors exchanged? Could it be that something significant was about to happen in the otherworldly realm of Bai Di Cheng beyond the Great Whirlpool Passage? 0
