Numerous ships quietly sailed away from the shore, all heading toward the Great Whirlpool, eager not to fall behind.
The opening of the Great Whirlpool Passage resembled a grand feast, driving all who heard the news into a frenzy. Many prominent families and interest groups had even hired or organized their own Special Operations Teams, poised and ready.
When they saw the Lian Family's Special Operations Team being the first to drift into the misty depths of the Great Whirlpool, it was as if an arrow had been released from its bow. Everyone could no longer contain their excitement and surged forth.
However, the sea was not welcoming to these sudden intruders, as if it were repelling invaders. The winds began to pick up, and in the distance, waves rose like a line of soldiers, silver-white and bright, gradually swelling higher, roaring like an army charging forward!
It seemed as if the waves intended to capsize all those ships.
Yet those ships appeared to be well-prepared, raising energy shields in anticipation of the impending tide.
With a crash—
Several ships failed to activate their defensive barriers in time and were instantly overturned by the surging waters. Those who fell overboard barely had time to call for help from nearby vessels before being mercilessly swallowed by the raging tide.
Of course, at the moment those ships capsized, several figures shot up from the wreckage, activating their Energy Shields to protect themselves. Some floated in mid-air while others sought refuge on other ships that had withstood the wave's impact.
Once the tide passed, aided by their energy shields, the surviving ships continued toward the Great Whirlpool. However, the waves began to swell again; larger vessels fared better, while smaller ones teetered precariously on the tumultuous sea.
Another massive wave surged forth from across the ocean. The ships maintained their shields, but the rising tide threatened to extinguish these Energy Shields. Yet, the powerful individuals aboard quickly unleashed bursts of energy light, reinforcing their shields just in time!
With a crash, the waves struck against those Light Shields; yet the ships remained steady and unyielding as they sailed across the sea surface. However, they still had a considerable distance to cover before reaching the Great Whirlpool.
Many onlookers along the shore were curious as to why these individuals did not harness Pulse Energy like the Lian Family to fly directly into the Great Whirlpool.
Just as this thought crossed their minds, a group resembling glowing orbs floated up from the shore and swept toward the Great Whirlpool amidst swirling winds and rain!
“It’s members of the Dongfang Family!”
“It seems like Dongfang Hui is leading them!”
“People from the Dongfang Family have arrived!”
“Could that monster, Dongfang Qiubai, be here as well?”
On the ship, discussions erupted from the shore, rising and falling like waves.
Dongfang Hui floated in the wind, her expression cold in response to the idle chatter. She glanced back briefly, noticing Dongfang Jun among Duo Hun and Sh Soul, his face pale. His Light Shield was the weakest among them, and several guards surrounded him protectively.
Dongfang Jun noticed his Sister Two's concern for him. Gritting his teeth, he activated the Pulse Breathing Technique. Although he was not as strong as Sister Two or his elder brother, he refused to let those watching him see him falter. He was determined to hold on until they reached the Great Whirlpool.
The mist of the Great Whirlpool loomed ahead. Dongfang Hui led a group of people charging into the Great Whirlpool Passage like a bull plunging into the sea.
After the second wave of aerial travelers entered the Great Whirlpool, dozens of glowing energy shields began to appear along the shore. The impatient powerful individuals could no longer wait; those who had learned the Pulse Energy flight technique naturally chose it as the fastest means of travel. Meanwhile, others who had initially planned to enter the Great Whirlpool by ship had their own calculations in mind.
They were merely honoring certain powerful families' requests to ensure that those on board the ship could safely enter the Great Whirlpool.
Or perhaps they wanted to conserve their strength for dealing with more complex situations once they entered the Great Whirlpool Passage.
The glowing spheres rising from the shore surged continuously into the night sky, some moving quickly while others lagged behind. Many could not sustain their Pulse Energy; their Light Shields vanished, and they plummeted into the sea, their fates uncertain.
Lu Fei Fan watched from a distance; he too intended to enter the Great Whirlpool. However, he felt that this sea area was not as calm as it appeared. The ships seemed to be heading into the whirlpool zone, but it was not that simple.
Sure enough, one of the largest ships began to lower its protective shield. Relying on its heavier tonnage compared to other ships, it tilted and crashed forward with a loud bang!
One ship on its right side was suddenly crushed beneath it and sank into the water before its occupants could even scream for help. A few powerful individuals quickly leaped off their ship.
But immediately, dense artillery fire erupted from the large-tonnage ship, striking those hurriedly fleeing for their lives and sending them plummeting straight into the sea!
“Are they crazy? How dare they openly attack others!”
"Survival of the fittest, should we take action?"
"Can't blame anyone else for that! Let's strike first, or else we might suffer if they attack us first!"
"That's not good!"
The ships that were originally advancing together on the Sea Surface suddenly opened fire on the surrounding vessels. Some ships appeared ordinary and small, but they concealed more than a dozen energy artillery pieces of varying calibers. The artillery unleashed a barrage that struck the nearby ships, which had no time to evade or react.
In an instant, several ships were pierced by the energy artillery, exploding one after another; however, this was just the beginning.
The ships that managed to react began to counterattack. Dozens of vessels started to create distance or chase after others, their cannon fire intertwining as various energy cannon projectiles rained down on the ships on the Sea Surface, resulting in explosions. Some were also hit by torpedoes in the water.
Some ships with weak defenses suddenly launched several powerful individuals into the air. The weapons in their hands deflected the incoming energy cannon projectiles, or they used their own pulse energy to create protective shields, safeguarding their ships beneath them.
Explosions burst forth like radiant orbs on the Sea Surface, flames soaring high.
The beams of light swept across, while powerful combatants clashed in midair, even employing pulse energy techniques that painted a vivid picture of naval warfare.
Watching this scene of self-destruction from the shore, Great Fox Manor shook its head. Zhi Yin observed as strong individuals were hit or fell into the ocean from enemy attacks; that area of the Sea Surface had clearly turned into a battlefield.
"Brother Great Fox, should we go in?" Zhi Yin asked cautiously.
Zhi Kuo looked expectantly at Great Fox Manor. After a moment of thought, Great Fox Manor replied, "Let's go."
As soon as he spoke, Zhi Yin and Zhi Kuo felt their bodies lighten as if lifted by gentle clouds, soaring through the air alongside Great Fox Manor towards the Great Whirlpool.
However, a figure darted out faster than them like a black streak from the opposite shore.
"Hmm?"
The Great Fox Manor surged forward, its brilliant Pulse Energy shield radiating a dazzling golden hue. The circular shield was larger than those of the Sea Surface's strongest warriors. Behind him were Zhi Yin and Zhi Kuo, both activating their own Pulse Shields, but their Pulse Energy alone was insufficient for flight; they relied on the Great Fox Manor to lift them with its Pulse Energy.
Ahead, a dark figure emerged, surrounded by a white Pulse Energy shield that flickered with black flames. This was Luo Jing, wielding the Yan Luo spear!
As he swiftly approached the Great Whirlpool, a dense barrage of energy artillery from a ship on the Sea Surface swept toward him. He dodged just in time, but the artillery relentlessly pursued him.
"Seeking death!"
He dove down, and the Yan Luo spear in his hand erupted with a surge of black flames, coalescing into a roaring dragon's head of fire that surged downward!
Boom!
The ship was violently pierced by the overwhelming energy of the spear, sending three powerful warriors flying into the air. Armed with Zhan Daos and long swords, they rushed toward Luo Jing.
Luo Jing swept his spear through the air, its fierce tip carving a beautiful arc of death!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The air exploded repeatedly as the weapons in the hands of the three warriors shattered. Blood sprayed from their mouths and noses as they fell, but they were quickly caught by someone using energy and then forcefully thrown back to shore.
Luo Jing retracted his spear and saw the Great Fox Manor standing proudly behind him, arms crossed and chin resting on his hand as he observed.
Noticing that the Great Fox Manor seemed uninterested in engaging him in battle, Luo Jing turned and charged toward the Great Whirlpool.
The Great Fox Manor surveyed the chaotic scene below and sighed.
"Big Brother Great Fox, we should leave here quickly!" Zhi Yin urged, glancing at the erratic energy artillery fire.
With powerful warriors engaged in fierce combat amidst the swirling vortex, staying even a moment longer would surely bring danger.
A figure flashed and appeared in front of an old man who was chasing a young man. The old man, with a long sword in hand, was about to stab the exhausted youth when a rugged, boisterous man, resembling a rough villager, caught him with one hand.
"How dare you meddle!" the old man exclaimed, turning to thrust his sword at the figure.
With a swift motion, the figure raised his large hand, and in the next moment, the old man spun around and was sent flying back to the shore not far from the Sea Surface.
Not only him; as he soared out of the water, over a dozen people engaged in battle above were also hurled back to the shore. The distance from the shore to the far-off sea was considerable. How could one person throw them back so far? What terrifying Pulse Energy must he possess?
"Who is this person?" someone asked as they crawled out of the water onto the shore.
They gasped for breath, creating a strange scene where former enemies who had been fighting fiercely above the Sea Surface now sat or lay on the shore, panting as if they had narrowly escaped disaster.
"He looks familiar..." someone replied.
However, the ships on the Sea Surface would not let this go unchallenged.
"Quick! Knock those people down!"
"Focus fire!"
Several ships quickly spotted Great Fox Manor.
Countless beams of artillery fire rained down, but Great Fox Manor erupted with an even more brilliant Golden Radiance, rising higher into the air before delivering a simple palm strike!
Suddenly, a giant palm resembling a cloud appeared in mid-air and crashed down onto the Sea Surface!
Boom!
A tremendous wave surged as that massive cloud-like hand struck down.
The ship rocked violently, and the remaining vessels opened fire on the man. However, with a swift motion, Da Huli Lie raised his hands, and from beneath the ship, a series of giant palms, resembling clouds, lifted it up. In an instant, the ship was rolled back to the shore by the waves!
This astonishing technique left Zhi Yin and Zhi Kuo, the siblings, speechless. The people who were thrown back onto the shore were even more stunned. The ships that had been firing the most ferociously were sent back to the beach, and the shockwave from those giant palms even destroyed their ship's power data analysis systems!
"Wh-what..."
Someone stammered incoherently.
"That's Great Fox Manor!"
"Is it really him!?"
Suddenly, people looked at the rugged man on the sea surface, who seemed fierce and godlike, unable to connect him with the imposing 'Izumo Overlord' they had heard about.
Yet, the breathtaking 'Chuzhong Palm' could not help but leave everyone in awe.
"This is Izumo Overlord..." someone sighed in admiration.
The crowd fell silent; perhaps for their entire lives, they would only be able to gaze at his back!
