Lu Fei Fan walked through the floating stones that rose in rows, as if traversing a boundary. This magical and grand spectacle left him wondering how it had come to be. He could distinctly sense that these Floating Stones were being held aloft by a peculiar Pulse Energy, but he could not deduce how long they had remained suspended or why they had taken on this form.
Every phenomenon exists for a reason, so what could have caused these marvelous Floating Stone Formations to manifest in such a way?
Lu Fei Fan attempted to extend his perception, only to find it colliding against an invisible wall!
No matter how he concentrated his perception into a single point or dispersed it into finer fragments, he realized that it was utterly impossible to penetrate through the Floating Stone Formations. They felt like two immense, intangible walls trapping his perception in between!
If his perception could not break through, then it stood to reason that those outside would also be unable to see what lay within.
From the outside looking in, it appeared as though there was nothing here—clearly an invisible barrier!
Lu Fei Fan paused, gazing at the towering Floating Stones that resembled chains of beads hanging down.
“Kid, hurry over here!” Yang Lao called from the end of the path, where there was a sloped cave entrance. His frail body squatted at the mouth of the cave, while Octopus A Ba seemed to have vanished.
Boom—
A thunderous explosion reverberated from below!
“Hurry!”
Yang Lao sounded anxious.
Lu Fei Fan dashed forward. The path lined with Floating Stones stretched for nearly a hundred meters, yet as he ran, it felt as if he had covered a thousand meters before finally reaching Yang Lao.
Just as Lu Fei Fan sprinted ahead, a gunshot rang out—bang!
He suddenly felt the air behind him freeze, a chilling and sharp aura of death twisting the surrounding atmosphere as if it were being drawn in. It felt like the icy breath of the Grim Reaper was bearing down on his back!
Lu Fei Fan swiftly mobilized his Pulse Energy, sidestepping to evade the attack. Boom!
An Energy Bullet crashed into a nearby Floating Stone!
The stone exploded violently, shattering into fine powder that scattered everywhere.
Taking advantage of the momentum, Lu Fei Fan turned around and drew his Lie Hound. Bang!
An Energy Bullet transformed into a shooting star, hurtling towards the attacker!
Boom!
A thick yellow energy shield materialized, and the large-caliber Energy Bullet from the Lie Hound struck the Energy Shield, causing it to shatter explosively!
To everyone's surprise, Lu Fei Fan's gun continued to fire—bang, bang, bang!
"Quick!" Yang Lao shouted from a distance.
Lu Fei Fan quickly got up, not bothering to check if his bullets had hit their mark. He sprinted towards Yang Lao's cave, trusting that Yang Lao would find a way to temporarily fend off this group.
One Energy Bullet after another whizzed past him. A robust Pulse Energy aura stood defiantly in front, as a long sword glowing with crystalline Pulse Energy was wielded casually. Clang! The incoming Energy Bullets were slashed away, crashing into surrounding Floating Stones and exploding into dust.
"Hmph! Overestimating yourself!" Bian Jian stood arrogantly at the front, coldly watching the rushing Lu Fei Fan. His long sword surged with overwhelming Pulse Energy, exuding a murderous intent. In the next moment, he lunged forward with his sword!
The air seemed to twist as the sword pierced through the distorted space, vanishing into thin air!
As Lu Fei Fan dashed forward, he suddenly felt an oppressive force closing in around him, suffocating and cold like death itself. At that moment, he dared not hold back any longer. His body surged with Pulse Energy, layers upon layers of it forming an energy shield that enveloped him!
The air twisted, and a half-formed Pulse Energy sword, glowing with shimmering light, pierced through. Bang! Bang! Bang!
The shield surrounding Lu Fei Fan shattered under the assault of the translucent longsword, layer after layer exploding into fragments!
As Lu Fei Fan stumbled while running, it felt as though a hammer had struck him from behind, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. Just then, the longsword descended suddenly with a crack!
It pierced through his body, and the sound of his Gods' Armor seemingly being penetrated echoed in the air. His body felt as if it were being branded by a hot iron, and the Pulse Energy within Lu Fei Fan surged chaotically like water disturbed by a stone thrown into a pond.
Puff!
His internal organs, even his brain, exploded with a resounding impact as another mist of blood erupted from him. It was as if all his strength had been drained away.
His legs nearly buckled beneath him, and just as he was about to lose consciousness, a crystal-clear chip within his Ocean brain began to activate, and Energy Patterns flowed through him like water.
Lu Fei Fan's body, on the brink of collapse, seemed to be pulled by some unseen force, and his legs began to run wildly!
From a distance at the entrance, Bian Jian withdrew his Energy Longsword from the distorted air with slight surprise. He hadn’t expected that despite his full-powered strike, Lu Fei Fan could still escape. He had infused that blow with overwhelming and ruthless Pulse Energy, aiming to completely disrupt Lu Fei Fan's Pulse Energy operation Data Analysis System, leading to a collapse of physiological functions and ensuring death with one strike!
This killing move was his specialty; however, if his opponent were a god-level warrior, he might not have had the chance to land such a blow.
After running dozens of meters, Lu Fei Fan felt as if he had exhausted all his strength. He looked at Yang Lao’s pale face. Yang Lao quickly retrieved an odd-looking wheel from a gap in the wall beside him; it was connected by several tendrils resembling glowing vines.
With a tense expression, Yang Lao spun the wheel around!
Immediately after, Lu Fei Fan witnessed an astonishing transformation unfold before him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The rows of Floating Stones on both sides of the passage began to spin like spirals. With a thunderous roar, the passage was instantly engulfed by the Floating Stones. Even more astonishingly, these Floating Stones started to rotate slowly, one circle after another, as all the loose stones spun wildly.
Blocks of Floating Stones rotated along the passage, and any creature passing through would surely be reduced to pulp.
Watching the passage transform into a dense whirlpool of the Floating Stone Formation, Bian Jian coldly retracted his long sword. Behind him stood two tall young women, Bai Ling and Hei Ling, with the Four Symbols Guard and a group of fully armed soldiers ready for action.
Lu Fei Fan stumbled and fell. Yang Lao reached out to check his wound, and a spark of energy exploded in his hand. Yang Lao's emaciated chest heaved uncontrollably as he muttered:
“Chuan Xing Jian, Shattered Void Style... Shattered Void Style! This is Shattered Void Style!”
Suddenly, he burst into laughter and then broke down in tears. “Bian Lao Er, it really is you!”
Yang Beiguo seemed extremely furious, staring intently at the swirling stones blocking the passage. He shouted loudly, “Bian Lao Er, aren’t you supposed to be quite capable? If you have the guts, come at me!”
Bian Jian, who had been pondering how to break this Floating Stone Formation, paused upon hearing the shout. He turned to look at the rotating stone array; the one shouting was standing at the end of the passage, surprisingly able to communicate despite the distance.
Out of caution, Bian Jian chose not to respond but felt that this voice sounded quite familiar.
“Who is it?” A captain behind Bian Jian seized the opportunity and stepped forward to call out.
Bian Jian did not oppose this move; he glanced at the clever captain with approval and awaited a response from the other side.
“What’s wrong? Have you lost the courage to talk to me? Or do you feel ashamed and can’t bear to speak with a cripple like me?” The opponent pressed on aggressively, ignoring the earlier captain.
“You...” The captain wanted to retort but was cut off by an even quicker response from the other side.
“Bian Jian! Don’t send your subordinates to talk to me; I know you’re right across from me!” The opponent clearly aimed to engage Bian Jian in conversation.
"I don't know how you came to know me, but I would appreciate it if you could deactivate the Floating Stone Formation. Otherwise..." Bian Jian's tone was one of persuasion, yet the underlying threat was unmistakable.
To his surprise, the other party was unfazed. "Hahaha! Bian Jian, I’m not falling for your tricks. If you have the guts, come at me! I’m waiting for you to deliver your death wish!"
Bian Jian's expression stiffened, his face darkening with a complex mix of emotions.
"Colonel, who is this Yang Beiguo?" the captain asked curiously.
Bian Jian shot him a glare, and the captain quickly lowered his head, realizing he had overstepped and fell silent.
Bian Jian glanced at the swirling Floating Stone Formation, a vortex-like storm where anyone who entered would undoubtedly perish. He snorted coldly and commanded, "Drop the gravity bombs!"
The subordinates carrying ammunition wasted no time in tossing metal discs resembling large pancakes into the swirling tunnel. Everyone, including Bian Jian, quickly took cover behind the tunnel.
Boom—
A tremendous surge of gravity erupted, violently shattering the debris of the Floating Stone Formation, which then rained down. Once the explosive force subsided, everyone approached to inspect the damage, only to find that the stones of the Floating Stone Formation had hardly diminished!
"Blast it again!" Bian Jian exclaimed in frustration at the seemingly insignificant impact on the rotating Floating Stones.
"Not good! Colonel, look over there!" someone shouted, pointing outside the Floating Stone Formation.
To their astonishment, dozens of stones were being drawn up from underground, filling in the gaps of the rotating Floating Stones. The storm of stones resumed its furious rotation as if nothing had happened!
Everyone felt that the gravity bombs were utterly ineffective.
"Colonel, should we continue bombing?" the captain asked nervously.
“Explode!” Bian Jian coldly and stubbornly issued the command before turning and entering the cave.
Bai Ling and Hei Ling exchanged glances, appearing as if they were outsiders, then turned to follow Bian Jian back. Bian Jian returned to the seawater phenomenon that was pressed against the wall. He had discovered it earlier through his perception and felt that the Floating Stone Formation's storm vortex was clearly related to this place. He fell into deep thought.
The soldiers, helpless, could only carry out the futile task of blasting the stones. The sound of explosions echoed, shaking the mountain that resembled a Colossal Creature.
Lu Fei Fan was dragged into a cave by Yang Lao, who was directing Octopus A Ba with one hand. Inside this cave, which spanned several dozen square meters, there was a shimmering pool of luminous water. Octopus dragged Lu Fei Fan far away, seemingly frightened and wanting to hide.
Notably, above the sparkling pool of water, there were two crystal-like whales circling around a uniquely shaped Greatsword!
The sword had two distinct blades, with a straight groove running down to the hilt that connected to a semicircular indentation at the hilt. However, this sword seemed to be covered in dust, losing its former color and sharpness.
Yang Lao looked up at the sword, then glanced at the glowing pool of water before turning his gaze to the unconscious Lu Fei Fan.
“Child, although our acquaintance is shallow, since you have given me new clothes to wear, cooked for me, and even played chess with me, I don’t have much time to wait. Regardless of what happens outside, we are bound to die anyway. I will give you this great opportunity; whether you live or die depends entirely on your own fortune!”
With that, he struggled to drag the injured and critically endangered Lu Fei Fan toward the glowing pool…
