The Master once said, rain falls on both the wicked and the virtuous, and sunlight warms both the good and the bad. 0

They are equal to all. 0

As the light, like a raging fire, illuminated the earth and dispelled the darkness, Shui Que transformed into a red blood arrow that struck Yu Lao. 0

Yu Lao did not dare to be careless; he summoned all his Pulse Energy, gathering it into a dark mist that rose like a wall. He aimed to block the towering morning light behind him as well as the oncoming Shui Que! 0

“Come on! Meet your end!” 0

With a roar, he lunged forward with clawed hands, surging like boiling water toward the speeding Shui Que. 0

Boom! 0

A massive shockwave overturned countless particles of dust, pushing them outward and sending vegetation and gravel flying in all directions within a hundred-meter radius. 0

On the ruined soil path, Shui Que lay on the ground, bloodied and battered. She gazed at the slowly rising sun, weakly closing her eyes to bask in its final warmth. 0

Yet in the distance, someone refused to let her enjoy her last moments of warmth. 0

Bang! 0

A pile of gravel exploded as Yu Lao surged forth from within, like a wild beast breaking free from captivity. 0

He was in a sorry state, having lost an arm. His torn limb appeared grotesque and bloody. Clinging to what remained of his severed arm, he ripped it away. As long as he could return to the Free Federation, he could use a regeneration device to restore his arm. However, improving his cultivation would be much more difficult… 0

He pulled out a jade pendant that had turned dark red, stained with blood. This was a gift from a certain Big Shot and his last means of survival. If it weren’t for this pendant containing life-saving energy, he would have surely met a gruesome end! 0

The one responsible for his dire situation was that Mad Woman. With this thought, he turned his blood-stained head frantically, searching for Shui Que like a cornered beast. 0

Finally, he saw Shui Que lying not far away, bloodied and mangled. Ignoring the pain of his severed hand, he sprang up and leaped forward, arriving at Shui Que's side. With a skeletal hand, he grasped her throat and lifted her up. 0

"I have to admit!" Yu Lao no longer had the playful intent he once possessed. "I truly saw your potential." 0

"Cough, cough..." Shui Que, with her throat in his grip, struggled to break free but had no strength left. She could only dangle from Yu Lao's arm, waiting for the moment of death. She chose to slowly close her eyes. 0

Yu Lao intended to crush this woman's throat completely, but he noticed her lips moving as if she were whispering. Was she begging for mercy? 0

Curiosity compelled him to loosen his grip slightly and listen closely. 0

"The one who wields the sword... shall... perish by the sword..." 0

Hearing those words clearly, Yu Lao felt a surge of anger. 0

"You!" 0

Yet Shui Que slowly closed her eyes. In the sunlight, memories of the time she met that person many years ago flooded back to her. 0

"Hmph, then let me send you on your way!" Yu Lao showed no hint of mercy. This ordeal had nearly cost him his life, something he had never anticipated. 0

On the desolate plain, even as the morning light illuminated the earth, the freezing cold still lingered. Yet Yu Lao sensed an unusual chill—a long-accumulated sense of danger. 0

He turned his head in confusion. Behind him, the morning dew scattered across the plain transformed into frost droplets, eventually crystallizing into a magnificent frost flower. It was transparent and sharp with eight pointed edges. The moment it formed was instantaneous; it activated in mid-air like an upright blade, spinning and whirling as it rushed toward him! 0

Having just fought desperately against Shui Que, Yu Lao found himself without any means of self-preservation. Fearful for his life, he suddenly felt as if he had seen a ghost; he discarded Shui Que as if she were trash and fled in panic! 0

But around him, more frost blades were forming. They moved in unison, rolling swiftly and converging on Yu Lao! 0

The sound of whistling through the air was like the swing of the Grim Reaper's Death Scythe. Yu Lao exerted every ounce of his remaining Pulse Energy to shatter the Frost Blades that were slicing toward him like rotating gears. 0

Boom! Boom! Boom! 0

The exploding frost transformed into frost flowers in the air, only to reassemble into more Frost Blades that spun and flew toward Yu Lao. 0

With no way to retreat, Yu Lao frantically swatted at the Frost Blades converging from all directions. The Frost Blades shattered in layers, yet their numbers remained undiminished. 0

Yu Lao felt a surge of frustration and couldn't help but roar in anger. 0

"Who!" 0

"Show yourself!" 0

At the edge of the wasteland, a figure appeared, clad in white robes and white pants. Yu Lao finally caught sight of his opponent and reached out into the void, pulling forth a Giant Tree. He swung it to sweep away the icy blades, hurling the Giant Tree like a spear toward his adversary! 0

The Giant Tree suddenly halted mid-air. Upon closer inspection, it was frozen solid within the frost-laden air, slowly merging with the moisture from the ground before ultimately penetrating into the wood, resulting in a thunderous explosion. 0

Suspended in mid-air, Yu Lao looked down with pride at his opponent's silhouette against the backlight, unable to clearly discern their features. 0

He watched as the figure suddenly paused to pick something up from the ground. After brushing it clean, he heard them say: 0

"Finally found you." 0

Then, they raised what appeared to be a long, stick-like object wrapped in dust. 0

Bang! 0

The wooden stick exploded, revealing a sharp glint under the sunlight. 0

It was a Zhan Dao! 0

He slowly lowered it, holding it at an angle, and began to sprint barefoot towards Yu Lao. 0

Yu Lao, in a panic, frantically searched for his Tie Sha. Suddenly, he spotted the Tie Sha embedded in the ground. He rushed over and with all his strength pulled the weapon from the soil, swinging it wildly towards the oncoming figure! 0

Bang! 0

To his astonishment, the figure did not budge! 0

His hand trembled slightly, while the other party steadily positioned the blade of the Zhan Dao against the Tie Sha. 0

“It’s you?” Yu Lao exclaimed in shock, unable to believe his own eyes. 0

“It’s me,” Lu Fei Fan replied with a slight smile. 0

“Impossible!” Yu Lao shouted in frustration, his voice trembling. 0

“Everything is as you see; there’s nothing impossible,” Lu Fei Fan said coldly as he gazed at him. 0

“You…” Yu Lao felt fear creeping in, yet he still couldn’t believe that this young man could recover from his injuries in such a short time and even make such rapid progress in his cultivation! 0

“Then let me send you on your way!” Yu Lao remained convinced that his strength could overpower this reckless youth. 0

“Then let’s see you try!” Lu Fei Fan replied with equal confidence. 0

Yu Lao let out a furious roar as Tie Sha transformed into a shadowy figure, unleashing the entirety of his martial arts mastery. Each strike from Tie Sha was infused with brutal power, targeting the vital points of Lu Fei Fan. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan's Silver Sparrow War Blade formed a layered wall of blades, clashing resoundingly against Tie Sha's relentless assault. 0

Seeing that the concentrated attacks from Tie Sha were failing to break through, Yu Lao had no choice but to muster all his strength for a powerful strike, colliding with Lu Fei Fan's sweeping Zhan Dao. 0

Lu Fei Fan was sent crashing to the ground, causing numerous Wooden Stakes to erupt from the earth. In an astonishing display, he spun around, his Zhan Dao slicing through the air with sharp precision. Several beams of light flashed as the Wooden Stakes that were meant to impale him shattered into splinters. 0

When he regained his composure, he realized that Yu Lao was attempting to escape! 0

"This old fool!" Lu Fei Fan suddenly understood; Yu Lao was creating an opportunity for himself to flee. 0

Initially, Lu Fei Fan had intended to engage in a fierce battle with him, but now this old fellow was thinking only of escape. 0

Well then, if that’s the case, he might as well grant him that wish. 0

Lu Fei Fan activated his Pulse Energy, raising his hand as the energy surged from within him. A chilling orb of energy gathered in his palm before he slammed it into the ground! 0

In midair, Yu Lao was rushing away without a care for his dignity; surviving was more important than preserving his old face. He needed to focus on saving himself. 0

But he didn’t expect the ground to tremble ominously beneath him—something was clearly pursuing him. 0

He gritted his teeth and accelerated, desperate to distance himself from this young man. 0

However, the sudden turn of events exceeded his expectations. Boom! Boom! Boom! 0

Ice spikes erupted from the earth like ballistic missiles, accurately targeting him! 0

He suddenly swung the Tie Sha, shattering the ice spikes, but they sprang up like mushrooms after rain, continuously shooting forth. 0

He had no choice but to push through the obstacles while also diverting his attention to deal with these ice spikes. 0

However, something even larger was coming from behind. Lu Fei Fan held a spinning ice blade that resembled a circular mirror in his hand! 0

Seizing the moment, he hurled it forward. The circular ice blade, towering as high as a person, rolled like a saw and flew towards Yu Lao. 0

Yu Lao shattered the surrounding ice spikes and turned to see the ice blade hurtling towards him. He swung the Tie Sha at the ice mirror, but just as his weapon descended to strike it, the mirror unexpectedly split in two with a loud bang, transforming into two circular mirrors. That was not the end; two became four, and four became eight! 0

The spinning circular ice blades whirled chaotically around him. Yu Lao fought desperately to shatter them, but the relentless ice blades continued to slice into him, causing sprays of blood to erupt. 0

He roared in fury, struggling against his fate. 0

As he cleared the last of the ice blades with his body covered in wounds and drenched in blood, he paused to catch his breath and looked around in shock. Surrounding him in mid-air were layers upon layers of countless fine ice spikes forming an encirclement. 0

Despair washed over him as he opened his mouth to smile faintly at the sharp, cold spikes aimed at him. The blood filling his mouth told him there was no chance of survival left. 0

In the end, he had fallen to an unknown rookie! 0

He spread his arms wide, accepting his fate. 0

The long-awaited ice spikes suddenly rained down upon him from all directions! 0

Swish, swish, swish— 0

That figure transformed into a burst of blood mist in mid-air until it was completely engulfed by the ice spikes. 0

Lu Fei Fan found the sheath and inserted the long sword into it, then walked over to Shui Que, who lay among the ruins as if in a deep slumber. He crouched down and gently lifted her up, offering her an ice silkworm to eat. She wriggled and swallowed it, slowly opening her eyes to gaze at the man before her, who seemed reborn. Yet, he was not the face she longed to see most. A hint of melancholy crossed her features, but she said nothing, resting her head against his chest and drifting back to sleep, allowing him to carry her away into the distance. 0

Blood dripped from her legs and hands, falling drop by drop onto the parched Gobi. 0

It was unclear how long they had been walking when Shui Que suddenly signaled for him to stop. 0

Lu Fei Fan gently set her down and sat cross-legged, letting her lean against him while holding her tightly, fearing that the cold wind would steal away more of her warmth. 0

"Can I ask you for two things?" she murmured weakly against him. 0

"Yes," Lu Fei Fan replied, stroking her hair and noticing how soft it felt. 0

"Please take the letter I gave you to my father." She raised her hand and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper, handing it to him. 0

"You can deliver it yourself; I'll take you back," Lu Fei Fan insisted as he tried to lift her again. But she grasped his arm, preventing him from standing. He fell silent for a moment before finally accepting the letter. "What else?" 0

"Are there wildflowers ahead?" Shui Que weakly tilted her head. 0

Lu Fei Fan carried her forward several steps until they reached a patch of overgrown grass filled with wildflowers, where he sat down. 0

"How beautiful," Shui Que said with all her strength, managing a faint smile. "Then… please bury me here." 0

Lu Fei Fan stiffened. Instinctively, he reached for a pouch at his waist to retrieve Yun Can or Ling Sheng to feed her. She gently pressed his hand down and shook her head slightly. 0

It was a gesture that signified there was no use in trying anymore. 0

"I will take you back," Lu Fei Fan insisted stubbornly, suddenly wanting to stand up while holding her tightly. 0

“There's no going back. Stay here and keep me company,” she said softly, trying to comfort him. 0

“No, there must be a way,” Lu Fei Fan replied, his voice trembling. 0

“How wonderful it is,” Shui Que suddenly smiled, then reached out to embrace him. “To meet you before leaving this world.” 0

Lu Fei Fan was taken aback, unsure of how to comfort her or even himself. 0

“Don’t seek revenge on those people. You’re still too weak; you can’t fight them,” Shui Que warned, as if making a final plea, afraid that Lu Fei Fan might act impulsively in his desire for vengeance. 0

“Remember this: memories are like roses without thorns; they will never wither. One day… you will meet someone who truly loves you…” 0

With that, Shui Que leaned against his shoulder, appearing as if she had fallen asleep—serene and graceful. 0

Lu Fei Fan gently held her close and kissed her forehead, his eyes misty as he bid farewell. 0

—Good night. 0
