Lu Fei Fan's body began to contort and shrink as if twisted by an unseen force. The glowing orb adjusted Lu Fei Fan's form, indifferent to the cracking of bones or the fractures that occurred.
His limbs were twisted around, resembling a crawling creature as he supported himself on his hands and feet, which were bent in unnatural directions, creating a sight that was both horrifying and bizarre.
Yet the orb showed no concern, as if this body was merely a vessel for it to inhabit.
It began to control this transformed body, moving it forward on all fours. The orb continuously scanned the surroundings, seemingly searching for something.
In the distance, thunder rumbled ominously, dark clouds swirling above as lightning flashed intermittently, heralding an inevitable sandstorm on the horizon.
Amidst the gravel, a Long-Eared Jerboa struggled to crawl, sniffing the ground in search of food. Finally, it came across a decaying fruit—uncertain whether it had fallen from a flying creature or been left by another animal.
In any case, it had found a meal. The Jerboa stuffed the half-rotten fruit into its belly and hopped away for quite some distance until it reached its burrow. As it squeezed through the winding tunnels to its nest,
Bang!
A shadow darted past, causing it to turn in fear before quickly disappearing into the depths of the cave.
Meanwhile, in the wilderness, Lu Fei Fan moved like a swift crawling beast toward a distant cave that the orb had locked onto as its target. He leaped into the cave but found the walls too slippery; he slid down despite his best efforts to maintain balance with his limbs. Ultimately, he fell to the bottom.
The dim light of the orb burst forth from his body again, scanning the cave's environment.
It clearly analyzed the structural layout of the surroundings and guided Lu Fei Fan's body along a passageway that seemed to lead to something enticing at its end.
Under its control, Lu Fei Fan advanced through the deep tunnel, cold and dark. At the end of this passage, there was no visible light source. However, under the orb's guidance, Lu Fei Fan's contorted body moved like a primal crawling beast. His hands and feet were scraped and bloodied, nearing an eighty-two percent damage threshold—well beyond what this Metal Ball deemed safe.
It had to find a way to save this body; otherwise, not only would this body perish, but it too would exhaust itself. It could not understand why humans, when faced with powerful enemies, chose not to flee but instead opted for self-destruction.
If it were not still weak, it would take control of this body and make it its own. But for now, it could only coexist with him, and the urgent task was to find the most effective solution.
It traversed through the cave and stopped at a fork filled with openings. In the darkness, a giant python coiled within one of the entrances. Upon noticing an intruder, it raised its head and regarded the scene with its eerie three eyes, one of which was a red vertical slit. This was no ordinary python; it possessed spiritual abilities.
Wasn't this person a meal delivered right to its door?
Starving, it found such a large prey presented before it—wasn't this exactly what it craved? With a furious snap, it opened its massive jaws and lunged at Lu Fei Fan.
Lu Fei Fan's limbs twisted violently as he seized the enormous python. The creature began to struggle, but Lu Fei Fan opened his mouth wide and bit down!
The python thrashed about, unable to comprehend that this human was actually charging at it!
After biting several times, the python ceased its struggles. Eventually, half of it became sustenance for Lu Fei Fan, but that was far too little.
He gave up and turned to crawl out toward the other side of the cave. Half an hour later, Lu Fei Fan held in his hand a fruit resembling a carrot yet akin to ginseng as he gnawed on it. Beside him lay a grotesque Fang Tooth Red-Haired Big Rabbit.
After finishing his meal, Lu Fei Fan still appeared unsatisfied. The glowing orb seemed to guide his body as he navigated through the underground caverns like a hunter intruding upon primitive territory, scavenging everything that could restore its energy.
Despite consuming much, he had yet to reach his desired standard.
As it controlled Lu Fei Fan's body deeper into the cave, it noticed that the energy beasts and spiritual vegetation here were increasingly potent. When he delved hundreds of meters underground, he felt an intensifying chill—not from geological conditions but something far more inexplicable.
This was clearly unscientific; there were circumstances here that defied measurement.
The Metal Ball hesitated for a long time. As the temperature dropped further, no animals or Pulse Energy Wild Beasts resided here; it was clear they all kept their distance from this frigid underground area, as the cold was unbearable for them.
The energy sphere controlling Lu Fei Fan's body seemed to sense something unusual and decided to delve deeper to investigate.
Crawling along the steep cave or climbing down, a chilling aura permeated the surroundings. The cave was naturally formed, just wide enough for a person to crawl through. In some places, one had to take a long detour to enter. For an ordinary person, it would be impossible to venture hundreds of meters underground.
But who could have known that when Lu Fei Fan descended hundreds of meters underground, passing through a long corridor and ignoring the frostbite from the cold, the energy sphere suddenly halted. It quickly took control of Lu Fei Fan’s body and darted toward the end!
A spacious stone chamber appeared before him, revealing a Bai Shu that had grown for decades!
This Bai Shu was entirely white and was not an ordinary plant. The light sphere controlling Lu Fei Fan tore off a leaf and bit into it.
The leaves melted in his mouth like ice!

Its branches were even pressed against the ceiling, growing wildly beneath it, forming a canopy of sorts. What was refreshing was that this Ice Tree emitted a faint energy aura. To mask this energy presence, it maintained an ecological cycle that radiated coldness, creating a freezing zone that transformed this energy into chill.
Many creatures on the ground could only seek warm energy, while cold energy was foreign to most beings.
However, on its leaves were peculiar insects slowly feeding on them and evolving. During this time, several insects emerged from their cocoons hanging from the branches and transformed into colorful Light Butterflies that fluttered away.
The light sphere controlling Lu Fei Fan seized one and swallowed it whole, suddenly realizing that this Light Butterfly contained astonishing energy!
Thus, Lu Fei Fan, transformed into a primal beast, felt as if he had discovered a treasure trove of energy!
If Yu Lao or Shui Que were here, they would undoubtedly be astonished. They would instantly recognize that the white Ice Tree before them was a species of great significance. But such is the nature of fate.
Lu Fei Fan was fortunate enough to be favored by destiny.
Thus, the light orb focused on Lu Fei Fan's primary target—the insects on the leaves of the Ice Tree. Any knowledgeable observer would be shocked by these insects, for they bore a name that had nearly been lost to time—Ice Mulberry Silkworms.
However, during the process of eliminating these Ice Mulberry Silkworms, the light orb began to reveal another type of fruit with even greater energy.
This was also a product of the tree—the Ice Mulberry Spirit Fruit.
Lu Fei Fan, like a mouse entering a treasure trove, began to feast wildly. Whether it was the Ice Mulberry Silkworms, the leaves of the Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree, or the fruits known as Ice Mulberry Spirit Fruits, he stuffed them all into his mouth and consumed them.
Like a wild beast, he devoured everything in sight. Of course, this ancient Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree was far too large; Lu Fei Fan barely managed to consume a fraction of it before his belly swelled up like a balloon. Not only his belly but his entire body transformed into that of a portly figure.
The energy orb began to adjust its strategy. After gathering sufficient energy, it started to implement the next phase of its plan—restoring Lu Fei Fan's limbs to their original form. Then it made him lie down as if he were asleep, merging into Lu Fei Fan's body to commence further transformation.
Lu Fei Fan's skeletal structure cracked and popped like exploding beans, echoing throughout the vast underground chamber in a rather eerie manner.
At times, certain parts of his body bulged while others caved in, even his facial features were affected.
Soon after, fine strands of white silk began to sprout from within his body. These silks connected him to the Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree. Ultimately, Lu Fei Fan's body transformed into a cocoon-like state, lying on the ground with White Energy threads linking him to the Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree.
The formation of this cocoon also signified the completion of the final task by the Metal Ball. It gradually dimmed and retracted from Lu Fei Fan's cocoon before vanishing completely.
Initially static, the cocoon began to pulse over time and even resonated with the Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree. The tree regarded this cocoon as its fruit and naturally continued to provide it with the energy it required.
The Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree had accumulated enough energy to support many such evolution cocoons. With sufficient energy supply, the evolution of the cocoons progressed unusually fast; their pulsing sounds grew louder, even resonating with the Ice Mulberry Spirit Tree.
Caught in the vortex, Lu Fei Fan felt a force gradually pulling him back. He sensed that his body was recovering rapidly. The previously chaotic and dim space, where stars and suns lacked any brightness, now shone with the light of five suns since he gained Consciousness.
The surrounding stars flickered like an ocean, illuminating the vast emptiness.
In that moment, he realized that this void could not contain more stars and suns. Was this his bottleneck?
He did not know how long had passed when the cocoon emitted strange energy lights. Finally, with a crack, a brand new hand stretched out from within.
Then, with another crack, the other hand broke free. Lu Fei Fan opened his eyes to find himself in a scene of pure white ice, as if he had been reborn beneath an Ice Spirit Tree.
So, who had saved him? Was it Shui Que?
