The past few days had been a torment for Da Biao and Suma. 0

They saw no signs of Lu Fei Fan waking up; instead, all they could observe was the fact that he was still alive. A person who hadn’t eaten or drunk anything for three days would have long since succumbed. 0

But for Lu Fei Fan, this was a form of growth. 0

Suma had initially planned to take him back in a vehicle, but Da Biao refused. He intended to wait for the captain to return before leaving. 0

However, there was no news about the captain, and they were left in the dark about what had happened. 0

Both of them felt anxious and helpless. At that moment, Ren Dongchuan sent a Communications Soldier to summon Da Biao and Suma to the operations command room. 0

When they arrived at the command room, Ren Dongchuan handed a briefing document to Da Biao. As Da Biao looked at the document, he raised his head in astonishment. 0

Suma quickly took a look as well and exclaimed, “Is this… real?” 0

“It has been verified; it’s absolutely true. It came from the abandoned base at Hill 358,” Ren Dongchuan explained. 0

Ren Dongchuan exchanged glances with several commanding officers present before shaking his head. “Currently, we cannot ascertain the accuracy and reliability of this information. My advice is not to take it lightly. However, since this concerns the safety of the Fei Hu Battle Team, I felt it necessary to inform you.” 0

“I’m going to rescue the captain!” Da Biao clenched his fists, resolutely declaring his decision. 0

“I’ll go too.” Suma hesitated for a moment but decided to join in as well. 0

“This place is far from there. Are you sure you want to take this risk?” Ren Dongchuan said with some reluctance. “The base could be attacked by another sandstorm and monsters at any moment; we need a lot of manpower here.” 0

"That's your business. I'm going to save the captain," Da Biao refused him. 0

"Fine, if you insist on being stubborn, then I have nothing more to say," Ren Dongchuan said, his expression darkening. Da Biao's public defiance in front of so many people was indeed embarrassing for him. 0

At that moment, a guard suddenly burst through the door, looking panicked. 0

"Report!" 0

"What’s with the rush?" Ren Dongchuan asked irritably. 0

The soldier reporting was so frightened that he stood at attention, not daring to meet Ren Dongchuan's fierce gaze. He hurriedly reported, "Sir... there's something strange happening at the camp!" 0

"What?" Ren Dongchuan was skeptical and immediately strode out of the command room, followed closely by Da Biao, Suma, and several others. 0

At the camp, an Energy Column rose from the ground, stirring the air. Soon dark clouds gathered overhead, accompanied by flashes of lightning and booming thunder—a terrifying sign of an impending storm. 0

"What’s going on?" Ren Dongchuan quickly grabbed a soldier and asked urgently. 0

"Report, sir. I... I don't know..." The soldier replied in fear and panic. 0

Ren Dongchuan released the soldier and looked towards the distant base camp where the light column continued to grow larger, merging with the lightning in the sky. Electric currents surged within the column, cascading downwards as dust storms rolled through the camp, shrouding it in smoke and chaos. 0

Behind Ren Dongchuan, Suma and Da Biao were equally shocked because that location was precisely where Lu Fei Fan was stationed! 0

Could it be that they were deliberately misled while Lu Fei Fan was ambushed? 0

As soon as he thought of this, Da Biao couldn't hold back any longer and jumped down towards the camp, leaping and bounding. Suma intended to grab him, but all he could do was follow him towards the center of the energy storm that was gathering. 0

Berg stood in his office, gazing through the glass at the Energy Column outside, which resembled a great dragon connecting the dark clouds to the earth. He seemed lost in thought. 0

The door swung open. 0

"Report! Dr. Tang sent me to inform you that there are strong Pulse Energy fluctuations at the camp!" 0

"Understood," Berg replied calmly, still facing away from his subordinate. 0

After saluting, the subordinate exited. Ever since Shui Que was injured, their superior had been in low spirits, leaving them feeling somewhat helpless. 0

However, it wasn't long before the door opened again. 0

"Report." 0

"Speak," Berg said, still looking out the window, seemingly unfazed. 0

"The doctor asked me to report that there’s a reaction in Cultivation Chamber 14," the soldier stated. 0

"What?" Berg's demeanor changed instantly as if struck by lightning. He spun around sharply. "Are you sure?" 0

The soldier hadn't expected such a strong reaction from his superior and nodded earnestly. "Absolutely certain." 0

Before the soldier could finish, Berg had already dashed out, taking two steps at a time down the stairs, ignoring the chaos of soldiers in the base as he raced into the Laboratory Building like a bullet released from its chamber. 0

Upon arriving at the Laboratory Hall, a series of upright glass chambers came into view, some containing strange creatures submerged within. However, Berg had neither the time nor the inclination to appreciate the bizarre specimens floating in the glass enclosures. 0

Instead, he hurried over to a particular experimental chamber surrounded by a group of researchers. Inside was Tang Kede, an old Fellow, who was staring intently at the chamber before him. The contents within were churning violently, resembling boiling liquid, and thick fog obscured any clear view of what was happening inside. 0

"What’s going on?" Berg asked angrily, his gaze fixed on the chaotic scene within the chamber. 0

Tang Kede barely had time to explain when a researcher below reported urgently, "Report: Oxygen supply, Pulse Energy monitoring, and intravenous fluid data are all in disarray!" 0

"What the hell is happening?" Berg shouted as he rushed forward and grabbed Tang Kede by the collar. 0

"Calm down! This is just a reaction; she’s in the process of resuscitation. We just haven’t figured out this form of resuscitation yet..." Tang Kede gestured for Berg to relax with both hands. 0

Finally stabilizing himself, Berg looked at the chaotic Energy Capsule. Tang Kede then raised his hands to signal everyone to step back. After everyone retreated several dozen steps, the liquid inside the chamber suddenly began to vibrate violently, releasing steam. 0

"It's going to explode!" 0

Someone shouted in alarm. 0

Instantly, everyone covered their heads and crouched down. 0

Bang! 0

The entire glass chamber shattered with a deafening explosion, sending shards of glass flying everywhere. 0

The scorching liquid splattered everywhere, and before anyone could clearly see what was happening, a figure burst out from the shattered glass chamber. 0

People barely had time to react before the figure disappeared from sight, leaving behind only a gaping hole in the glass window. 0

Berg and Tang Kede rushed to the window, disregarding the shards of glass. Berg immediately shouted at the personnel from Ground. 0

"Nobody is allowed to fire!" 0

The soldiers in the base, who had just begun to comprehend the situation, confusedly lowered their weapons. They could only watch as a figure wrapped in a cloak soared away like a shooting star, heading straight for the towering 'Dragon' that had risen into the sky. 0

The swirling Energy Column connected with the dark clouds above, and crackling lightning surged down from the cloud layer, continuously pouring into the Energy Column. The Ground camp was engulfed in a whirlwind as many of its foundational structures were obliterated by the hurricane-like Energy Column. 0

This striking Energy Column made Niu Han feel an uneasy sensation. He jumped onto a building and gazed at the distant tornado-like column, squinting as if lost in thought. 0

"Teacher, is that a Pulse Energy Storm?" A female apprentice in combat gear spoke up behind Niu Han. 0

"A Pulse Energy Storm? It can't be that large," scoffed a male apprentice standing next to her, his disdain evident towards the swirling Energy Column before them. 0

"How can you be so sure? It's just something we haven't seen before," the female apprentice retorted with a cold huff. 0

"Hmph, you're just short-sighted," the male apprentice teased back. 0

"Teacher, should I go investigate?" The female apprentice volunteered eagerly. 0

"No. What worries me more is what's outside," Niu Han said, his gaze fixed far into the distance. 0

The Female Student and the Male Apprentice abruptly halted their argument, turning their gazes towards the distant sky beyond the Energy Column. There, a peculiar flock of flying creatures was gliding, each one seemingly as large as a horse. 0

"It's the Hummingbird Beasts!" exclaimed the male team member. 0

Before he could finish his sentence, the group of Hummingbird Beasts suddenly dove down, charging towards the base. Many people were caught off guard by the impending attack, and three or four individuals were snatched away by the Hummingbird Beasts! 0

It was only then that people began to notice the bizarre appearance of these Hummingbird Beasts. They had wings and a pair of claw-like feet, with heads grotesque like that of a lizard, featuring three rows of eyes that were utterly repulsive. 0

Several individuals didn’t react in time and were swiftly taken away. The Hummingbird Beasts lifted them high into the air before dropping them, their screams echoing as they fell to their deaths. 0

The personnel on the Ground eventually reacted. The Young Officers immediately began shouting commands to fire the defensive Artillery. Flames erupted like whips from the Ground, striking two unsuspecting Hummingbird Beasts mid-air, causing them to explode in a shower of blood and flesh that rained down. 0

The remaining Hummingbird Beasts swooped down even more aggressively, targeting the combat personnel at the Artillery positions! 0

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh— 0

Three or four arcs of energy blades shot up from the Ground! 0

Boom! Boom! Boom— 0

Three Hummingbird Beasts were instantly transformed into a bloody mist that scattered through the air. 0

Niu Han stood on the Ground, observing the remaining Hummingbird Beasts. The faint aura he emitted caused them to panic and flap their wings frantically, roaring as they attempted to flee. 0

However, the defensive Artillery unleashed a sudden barrage. Of the four or five escaping Hummingbird Beasts, two were hit and crashed to the ground. Immediately, numerous personnel aimed at the struggling Hummingbird Beasts and unleashed a frenzied volley of fire! 0

The remaining Hummingbird Beasts fled in a panic from the scene. 0

After those Hummingbird Beasts retreated, the Energy Column crashed down with a thunderous roar, suddenly vanishing. The chaotic area was still filled with dust and smoke, and the empty, rumbling clouds began to rain. 0

Many people in the base looked on in confusion at the Energy Column that had appeared so suddenly and then disappeared just as quickly. Not understanding what had happened, many began to move toward the central area. 0

In the center of the Energy Column, Lu Fei Fan sat in meditation, a delicate white hand resting on his head. 0

Once the Energy Column descended, Shui Que slowly landed, wrapping her robe around her bare body. More quickly, six Berg Imperial Guard soldiers bowed their heads and presented her with clothing. Shui Que glanced at Lu Fei Fan, who was still meditating, before turning to leave. 0

The crowd instinctively parted to create a path as Shui Que exited under the protection of the six Berg Imperial Guards. 0

The remaining onlookers all turned their gazes toward Lu Fei Fan, who sat calmly on a patch of undisturbed ground amidst the overturned camp around him. People were puzzled, wondering if it was indeed Lu Fei Fan who had caused such a tremendous commotion. 0
