The setting sun bled into the sky, painting the horizon in shades of crimson, as if a plush carpet of red had been unfurled across the landscape, stretching endlessly. 0

Lu Fei Fan drove his vehicle towards the direction indicated by the Data Analysis System, with just an hour's journey left to reach the base. The pursuit by Crazy Horse did not dampen his spirits; he even took a ten-minute break along the way to check on Da Biao's injuries. 0

Da Biao remained in a deep slumber, his face pale and his condition not looking optimistic. Thus, Lu Fei Fan dared not be negligent. However, as he drew closer to the base, he noticed an unsettling absence of wildlife; not even a single beast could be seen. This struck him as odd. 0

The feeling was reminiscent of when Captain and the others had been ambushed—an ominous sensation. 0

In the distance, the outline of the base began to emerge on the horizon. The dust and smoke kicked up by his vehicle alerted the base to his presence. Lu Fei Fan could distinctly sense that the Energy Sniper Rifle atop the Sniper Tower was aimed at him, and there were even automated Rocket Artillery systems tracking his movements! 0

Yet they did not open fire. But why was there so much smoke? Had something happened? 0

With this question lingering in his mind, Lu Fei Fan approached the base, only to be taken aback by what lay before him! 0

Surrounding the base were craters scattered over several kilometers, littered with unknown beasts. Remains and blood were strewn about like a scene from a hellish battlefield. Amongst this carnage, Lu Fei Fan could see severed human limbs—hands and feet torn apart—and several Rocket Artillery shells embedded in the carcasses of beasts, unexploded. 0

Navigating the few kilometers into the base required Lu Fei Fan to drive cautiously. This stretch was more arduous than any three-hour journey he had undertaken; he had to dodge craters, avoid unexploded ordnance, and evade makeshift Landmines! 0

As he neared the main gate, he found himself confronted by trenches piled high with Sandbags. Several Energy Cannons locked onto him with their dark muzzles, while three or four Sniper Rifles from the Sniper Tower aimed at his vital points. Lu Fei Fan released his grip on the steering wheel and raised his hands to show that he meant no harm. 0

Clearly, the base had experienced a sudden crisis; otherwise, they wouldn’t have heightened their defenses to such an extent. In this tense atmosphere, any overreaction could lead to accidental fire from the guards. While he might manage to evade danger himself, Da Biao in the backseat would be completely exposed to gunfire. 0

“Who’s in the vehicle?” a voice called out from the Viewing Tower. 0

“Don’t shoot! I’m Lu Fei Fan from the Fei Hu Battle Team!” Lu Fei Fan announced his affiliation with the Special Operations Team. 0

After a while without a response, it seemed that Watchtower had gone to report. 0

Sure enough, not long after, a voice came from Watchtower. 0

“Drive the vehicle in slowly!” 0

Lu Fei Fan started the car and slowly approached the gate. As he passed through the trenches, the soldiers there pointed their guns at him. Lu Fei Fan dared not speed up and drove into the Gate. As the Gate slowly closed behind him, five or six fully armed soldiers emerged around the base, weapons aimed at Lu Fei Fan. 0

One of them held a handgun pointed at Lu Fei Fan while using his other hand to open the car door. 0

“Raise your hands and get out of the vehicle.” 0

Lu Fei Fan complied, and then he felt a rough pat-down from a burly man with a thick beard. After the man removed Lu Fei Fan's Lie Hound, he kicked all the weapons and luggage out of the car as if they were trash. Two team members stepped forward to temporarily confiscate them. Lu Fei Fan frowned, feeling quite dissatisfied with their brutality, but he chose to endure it for now and pretended not to react. 0

However, after checking Lu Fei Fan, one of the soldiers in the vehicle immediately raised his gun and aimed at Da Biao, who was sleeping inside. 0

“There’s someone else in there!” The soldier appeared very nervous. 0

“What’s he wrapped in?” Someone leaned closer to look into the car and immediately became anxious. 0

“Get him out and check; if there are explosives, we’re done for!” Another person quickly echoed, their reaction somewhat exaggerated. 0

“Don’t shoot! He’s one of our team members; he’s injured!” Lu Fei Fan warned loudly. 0

“Be honest!” The man who had just searched Lu Fei Fan grabbed his hand, attempting to subdue him. However, Lu Fei Fan caught the man’s wrist with a grip as strong as an Iron Pincer. 0

The burly man seemed momentarily stunned, not expecting that the seemingly unassuming figure would dare to provoke him. He immediately tried to pull his hand back, but to his astonishment, he found that his hand was locked in place as if caught in an Iron Pincer. No matter how he struggled, he couldn't free himself. 0

At that moment, the surrounding team members, who had been nervously aiming at Da Biao, suddenly realized what was happening and quickly turned their guns towards Lu Fei Fan. 0

"Let him go! Otherwise, we will open fire!" one of the team members shouted. 0

"Then go ahead and shoot. I’ll die with him!" Lu Fei Fan retaliated, tightening his grip on the man's wrist, causing him to yelp in pain. 0

"Then we'll shoot your friend!" someone immediately aimed their gun at Da Biao in the vehicle. 0

"If you dare to shoot and hurt him, I will kill all of you!" Lu Fei Fan coldly glared at the soldier standing on the vehicle with his gun aimed at him. The intensity of his gaze clearly made the soldier hesitate. 0

For a moment, both sides were at a stalemate when suddenly a voice rang out. 0

"Stop!" 0

A Male Captain rushed over, clad in a Tactical Vest with a Zhan Dao slung across his back and two Energy Pistols holstered at his waist. His bronze skin glistened with sweat under the open air, highlighting his powerful muscles, indicating that he was undoubtedly a practitioner as well. 0

"What’s going on?" he asked the nearby soldiers before turning to Lu Fei Fan. 0

Lu Fei Fan released the burly man he had been restraining. The man immediately attempted to draw his weapon and fight Lu Fei Fan but was stopped by the Captain's outstretched hand. 0

"What exactly is happening?" the Captain pressed again. 0

"Ask your subordinates," Lu Fei Fan replied dismissively, turning to retrieve his Lie Hound and gather all of his gear and backpack. The team members hesitated to return his belongings, but after Lu Fei Fan shot them a fierce glare, they reluctantly complied. 0

The Captain inquired about the general situation from his subordinate, then walked over and glanced at Da Biao in the vehicle. He shook his head at Lu Fei Fan and said, "The base is in a critical period right now, so I hope you can cooperate more." 0

With that, he waved his hand, signaling the others to let Lu Fei Fan's vehicle through. 0

Just as the base vehicle started moving, someone from Watchtower shouted at the entrance of Ground. 0

"Two more cars are coming back outside!" 0

Instantly, everyone tensed up again, all eyes turning toward the outside of the base. Sure enough, in the distance, dust was billowing as two vehicles appeared on the scene. 0

"All personnel on alert!" the Second Lieutenant immediately commanded. 0

Lu Fei Fan had no time to pay attention to these people and drove straight into the base, heading for the Medical Room. This was a separate building marked with simple medical signs. 0

As he entered the Battlefield Hospital with Da Biao, a strong smell of disinfectant mixed with blood assaulted his senses. The corridors of the Base Hospital were bustling with activity, filled with people coming and going. The sounds of painful groans echoed through the hallways. 0

Many individuals were bandaged up, sitting in the corridor receiving intravenous therapy. Medical staff were busy checking on those who had yet to receive treatment, wrapping wounds and administering IVs. At the end of the corridor, the door to an operating room swung open just as a patient who had just undergone surgery was wheeled out, followed closely by another patient being pushed inside. 0

"Doctor, I need help!" Lu Fei Fan called out. 0

Immediately, a doctor who had just finished examining a patient came over and gestured for Lu Fei Fan to place Da Biao on an empty bed. After examining him briefly, he asked Lu Fei Fan what had happened to Da Biao. 0

"We need to prepare to inject him with Universal Serum and then transfer him to the Cultivation Tank for recovery!" 0

The doctor decisively instructed a nurse to get ready for an IV. At that moment, the door at the entrance of the hospital corridor was suddenly flung open. 0

“Doctor! Doctor! Hurry, someone needs help!” 0

Two armed team members immediately spotted the doctor attending to Da Biao and dragged him away in front of Lu Fei Fan. 0

This left Lu Fei Fan quite displeased. He glanced at the person at the door and was surprised to see that the one carrying the injured individual was none other than Sun Xingcai from the Blood Wolf Squad! 0

On his back lay a young man covered in blood, and the doctor quickly instructed the two team members to place him on a bed in the corridor for examination. Sun Xingcai appeared somewhat anxious beside him. 0

As the doctor examined the young man, his expression grew increasingly serious. 0

“Doctor, how is he? Will he be alright?” Sun Xingcai asked urgently. 0

“What bit this wound?” The doctor pulled back the young man's shirt to reveal several bloody holes oozing black pus. 0

“He was poisoned by a Sand Lizard!” Sun Xingcai replied hastily. 0

“This…” The doctor looked troubled and hesitated for a moment. “Unfortunately, there’s only one Universal Serum left at the base.” 0

With that, he glanced at Da Biao lying next to Lu Fei Fan. 0

“Then hurry up and inject it into him!” Sun Xingcai urged anxiously. 0

“I'm sorry, but I’ve already instructed the nurse to prepare an injection for the poisoned patient on that bed,” the doctor said helplessly. 0

Sun Xingcai and his companions then turned their gazes toward Lu Fei Fan and the bed where Da Biao lay. 0

Sun Xingcai certainly remembered Lu Fei Fan. Lu Fei Fan touched his nose, appearing quite calm amidst the fierce gazes directed at him. 0

Unexpectedly, Sun Xingcai immediately grabbed the doctor's collar with both hands and shouted, "You better give him the universal serum right now! If anything happens to him, I'll hold you responsible!" 0

The doctor stammered in response, but just then, a nurse carrying the serum walked by, ready to administer an IV to Da Biao. 0

Sun Xingcai quickly pushed the doctor aside and, along with two subordinates, shoved the nurse out of the way. He stepped in front of Lu Fei Fan while the other two snatched the serum bottle away. 0

"Blood Wolf Leader, are you sure you want to do this?" Lu Fei Fan asked calmly. 0

Sun Xingcai spat on the ground dismissively and retorted, "Pfft! Who do you think you are? I don’t even care about Ma Youcai! What gives a wet-behind-the-ears brat like you the right to negotiate with me?" 0

With that, he leaned over Da Biao, who was sleeping on the hospital bed, and glanced back, saying, "If you want to blame someone, blame your brother for his bad luck." 0

Without a second thought, Lu Fei Fan drew his Lie Hound and aimed it at Sun Xingcai's head. The two subordinates standing behind Sun Xingcai immediately drew their guns and aimed them at Lu Fei Fan. 0
