The Firecloud spread wildly with its final colors, a magnificent sight before the ink-like darkness descended. They were undoubtedly the beautiful hues of this air disaster. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan had no mood to admire the colorful Firecloud. The Ferry sped towards the distant Sea Surface, and the dock appeared tranquil and serene under the twilight. Everything was gradually drifting away from him, except for the towering, lonely gantry of the dock. 0

According to the captain's plan, they would reach the southern safe zone of the Free Federation, the coastal defense line known as the ‘Juhai Great Wall’, just as dawn broke! 0

The Ferry carried two groups of people; one group consisted of members from the Fei Hu Battle Team, while the other group rested on the opposite side. Only the captain and Vice Captain exchanged a few words before returning to their respective groups. 0

As the long night fell, only the roar of the engine filled the Ferry. After a simple dinner, everyone fell into an unusual silence, seemingly absorbed in their own thoughts. 0

Fu Qinqin was in her room organizing her firearms and daggers. This woman had disassembled her handgun into pieces. Lu Fei Fan intended to discuss basic firearm principles with her, but she simply closed her room door in his face. 0

With no choice, Lu Fei Fan sought out others to pass the time. He joined Jia Jia, who preferred to communicate with her fists, along with the incompetent brewer Lao Jiu, the lecherous Cai Bi, and Vice Captain Da Fu Ge. The four engaged in a lively game of poker, thoroughly enjoying themselves. 0

After mingling for a while, Lu Fei Fan decided to get some fresh air on deck. To his surprise, he found Da Biao sitting cross-legged on the deck. A lamp was secured with tape in front of him, and he held a pencil in one hand, gesturing at the vast starry sky while supporting a sketchpad with the other. The beginnings of a starry scene were already taking shape on it; though merely a sketch, from a professional perspective, Da Biao's skill was quite impressive. 0

He glanced up at Lu Fei Fan, then returned to his drawing, continuing to gesture at the stars above. 0

"What's wrong? Are you too nervous or scared to sleep?" 0

"No, I just wanted to get some fresh air." Lu Fei Fan sat down beside Da Biao, gazing at the vast starry sky, momentarily lost for words. 0

"How is it? Beautiful, right?" Da Biao shot him a glance. 0

Staring at the stars reminded Lu Fei Fan of his previous life when he traveled through planets aboard a manned spacecraft. He guessed that Da Biao wouldn’t believe he had such experiences. 0

"In front of this starry sky, humanity feels so insignificant," Lu Fei Fan remarked with deep emotion. 0

"Before the great Sea Surface, it's just as true." 0

A voice came from behind them; turning around, they saw their captain, Ma Youcai, approaching with several cans of beer. He sat down beside them and patted Lu Fei Fan on the shoulder. 0

"I've been too busy to chat with you in detail, and I was worried you might not adapt well. Now that I'm finally free, I took some time to come find you," Ma Dui said with a smile. 0

Lu Fei Fan looked at him and recalled his last life when he had just joined the army, remembering his strict Company Commander, who was a bit older than Ma Dui but had the same warm smile. 0

"Haha, Ma Dui, are you going to talk about the compensation for death again?" Da Biao interjected from the side, pouring cold water on the conversation. "Don't take it personally; our captain just loves discussing these things. Every newcomer likes to chat about their arrangements after they're gone. Don't worry, if you die, you'll definitely receive a settlement. It may not be much, but it will be enough for your family to get by. Our Special Operations Team all have insurance." 0

With that, Da Biao gathered his things and left the deck, leaving Ma Dui and Lu Fei Fan alone. 0

Ma Dui kicked at this fellow in mock anger, clearly annoyed that Da Biao had stolen his thunder. The latter scurried away, clutching his backside. 0

"Do you know what my first impression of you was when I saw you?" Ma Dui suddenly asked. 0

"What impression?" Lu Fei Fan inquired in return. 0

"A real man," Ma Dui chuckled. "You should know that many have come through our Special Operations Team. We've had plenty of newcomers, but very few are truly fearless. Everyone seems fine before heading out, but once on the battlefield, some end up so scared they wet themselves. But you don’t seem like that kind of person." 0

"What if I am?" Lu Fei Fan challenged this assumption, feeling it was too subjective and presumptuous. 0

"Then you'd better prepare an extra pair of pants!" Ma Dui replied playfully as he patted Lu Fei Fan on the shoulder. "Go rest up; tomorrow is the real beginning. If we want to make money, we need to bring our best selves to the table. I don't want to go back carrying my brother's corpse." 0

With that, he hummed a tune and headed back to his cabin. 0

The captain's last words warmed Lu Fei Fan's heart; this was what made a reliable companion on the battlefield—someone you could trust with your life. 0

After finishing the beer the captain had given him, Lu Fei Fan looked out at the dark sea. There wasn't much to see, so he turned and returned to his cabin to sleep. However, the swaying of the ship made it difficult to get quality rest, and loud footsteps occasionally echoed from the deck. 0

When Lu Fei Fan groggily woke up, someone was knocking at his door. He opened it to find Jia Jia, who was not very tall. He tilted his head and said, 0

"We have ten minutes left; the captain wants us to get our gear ready for assembly on deck." 0

With that, he turned and left. 0

Lu Fei Fan organized his Military Backpack, feeling a hint of excitement. He glanced at the time: it was 4:30 AM, and there was still some time until dawn. 0

After checking his gear and luggage to ensure nothing was missing, he stepped out of the swaying cabin and onto the deck. The rest of the team had already gathered, and everyone smiled upon seeing Lu Fei Fan. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan noticed that the Ferry was enveloped in a blinding light, so intense that he could hardly open his eyes. Cai Bi seemed prepared for this and handed him a pair of sunglasses. Once he put them on, the sight before him left him in awe. 0

Before him stood a towering wall, reaching several dozen meters high, majestically rising from the sea like a monumental relic. It stretched endlessly to both sides, its true length unknown, but it effectively divided the entire sea area into two distinct realms: one side was a vast and dangerous world, while the other was the safe Human World. 0

At intervals along the wall, powerful searchlights were installed, casting beams of light that pierced through the darkness and swept across the calm Sea Surface, monitoring any potential dangers that might arise during the night. 0

As for whether there were radars or other warning systems installed on the wall, Lu Fei Fan had no way of knowing. However, as they approached the Ferry, he could clearly see numerous gun ports ominously opened along the wall. Various heavy weapons were mounted there—massive artillery pieces like Titan Cannons, Vulcan Cannons, and Thor Ballistic Missiles—armaments Lu Fei Fan had never seen before. 0

In addition to this, he noticed a tall Gate that was closed; it must be the exit from the wall, serving as a gateway from the secure world inside to the outside realm. 0

"Welcome to the Juhai Great Wall!" a member of the team patted Lu Fei Fan on the shoulder and introduced. 0

Lu Fei Fan still felt somewhat overwhelmed. He had imagined that the so-called Juhai Great Wall would be something like a coral reef chain; he never expected it to be such an immense and indestructible fortress built on water. This might very well be the most magnificent wall he had ever seen in his life! 0

It was undoubtedly one of humanity's greatest architectural achievements! 0

The Ferry moved toward the inner side of the wall. The main gate remained closed, but there were several floating docks where boats could dock. Not far away, several warships were quietly anchored; he occasionally spotted sentries standing guard at the docks with no one else in sight. 0

The floating docks had constructed decks leading into the interior of the wall where several doors were open. 0

Once the Ferry stabilized its position, the team followed their guide across a floating walkway to reach the massive gate at the base of the wall. There was a floating platform at the entrance capable of accommodating nearly a hundred people. Soldiers were stationed at the gate checking Fuser credentials. 0

The soldiers used floating screens that displayed personal information in real-time. Most details were accurate; fortunately, nothing unusual occurred during this process, allowing Lu Fei Fan and members of Fei Hu Battle Team to pass through safely. 0

Their guide led them through the gate into an enclosed space that revealed a narrow Corridor divided into left and right paths leading forward. The guide took them to the right along the wall’s direction. After walking for about ten minutes and making some turns, they emerged to find a massive cruise ship docked beside the wall. This oil tanker stood two-thirds as tall as the wall itself; despite its size, it was secured by several thick iron chains tethered to the wall. The floating dock's high ladder scraped against it due to waves, creating an ear-piercing sound. 0

Lu Fei Fan boarded the cruise ship, which was brightly lit and filled with music; it was clear that a party was underway on deck. However, their guide led them not to the deck but to a lower level with rooms where he arranged three rooms for his team members to rest temporarily. 0

During this time, the waiter seemed to charge no fees at all. 0

"The captain is a golden member of the 'White Pearl' ship, so this is a perk," Da Biao explained, seemingly seeing through Lu Fei Fan's confusion. 0

"Captain, can I go up on deck for a bit?" Cai Bi raised his hand eagerly in front of the room. 0

Fu Qinqin kicked him, and the military boot promptly sent this lecherous fellow scurrying back into the room to rest for a while. 0

"You all take a break; we leave at eight!" The horseman glanced at his watch and then nodded to Da Fu Ge, who understood and followed him out, leaving to attend to some unknown task. 0

Vice Captain Da Fu was responsible for supervising this group of fellows to make sure they took advantage of their limited time to rest. 0

Lu Fei Fan hadn’t had enough sleep on the ferry and fell asleep as soon as he hit the bed. The cruise ship was far more comfortable than the ferry; the swaying and bumping sensations were almost negligible, and the soundproofing on board was excellent. 0

"Did you know? There's a rule I should tell you about," Da Biao said, glancing at Jia Jia, who was polishing her Zhan Dao. He wore a mischievous smile. 0

Jia Jia also paused her work with the flying knives, smiling eagerly as she anticipated Lu Fei Fan's next reaction. 0
