As dawn broke gently, a thin mist enveloped the island. When strands of golden morning light pierced through, it heralded the beginning of a brand new day. 0

At the Monster Base, a bustling scene unfolded. Trucks laden with people moved to and fro, each carrying individuals with their belongings, all set to embark on their journey home. Their exam results would be sent directly to their families; however, those from the Stunt Training Camp would receive separate notifications. 0

Many knew this had nothing to do with them. After all, they had already passed the Unified Awakeners Examination. Some would enlist in the military, while others would leave this place. Only when they earned the title of Fuser would their new journey truly begin. 0

In this harsh world, if one lacked the strength and courage to confront it, they would be swallowed whole. 0

Only those brave enough to face adversity in reality could become true warriors. 0

Lu Fei Fan, along with A Teng and Da Li, initially planned to pack up and leave. However, due to limited passenger ships at Monster Base, the Free Federation had only arranged civilian flights to disperse the Evaluators concentrated on the island. 0

A large number of Evaluators, burdened with their belongings, streamed out from the Monster Base camp and slowly made their way toward the Port Dock, where they awaited arrangements for their return home. 0

Lu Fei Fan was engrossed in a book titled "Standing at the Edge of the World," which he had found in the camp. It narrated the amusing experiences of a traveler in the Free Federation. 0

The departure of many candidates left behind a considerable amount of items in the camp—ammunition, firearms, books, and even clothing—quite a lot indeed. A Teng and Da Li even scavenged a pile of inappropriate books from nearby camps. 0

Looking at the mountain of questionable literature with its enticing covers, Lu Fei Fan sighed helplessly and remarked, "There are houses of gold in books; there are beauties within them..." 0

Of course, aside from these inappropriate books, A Teng also collected several training manuals that were quite eclectic, such as "Black Bear Heart Extraction Training," "On The Theory of Sniper Rifles in Ten Days," "Thirty-Six Tricks of Poisoning," and "Squatting Toilet Hip Lift Training"... 0

Upon seeing "Squatting Toilet Hip Lift Training," Lu Fei Fan burst into laughter while A Teng muttered angrily, "Damn it! Which bastard is so twisted as to practice lifting their buttocks..." 0

A Teng imagined himself performing those exercises and shuddered before hastily tossing the book aside. 0

"Da Li, let’s pack these books up and sell them on the Virtual Network; we could make quite a fortune," A Teng said proudly as he patted the pile of inappropriate books. Surely, only he could come up with such a scheme in this rundown place. 0

The trio had bought tickets late because they were delayed at the ticket office, securing passage for the following day. During this time, their greatest pleasure lay in scavenging useful items from other camps—such as firearms and ammunition—to sell to the base's weapon shop, which accepted any weapons without question at rock-bottom prices. 0

As for that large pile of questionable literature, A Teng decided against selling it at discounted rates to the base's bookstore or bar. Instead, he planned to stuff it into a large military backpack. Whether he would sell it on the Virtual Network or keep it for himself remained unknown to Lu Fei Fan. 0

The busy farewells during the day left the once bustling Monster Base, filled with tens of thousands of people, quiet and empty as night fell. 0

Having rested enough, Lu Fei Fan was organizing his belongings. A Teng and Da Li had gone out to hunt for food, eager to enjoy a hearty meal before leaving and perhaps flirt with any lonely girls they might encounter. The two of them left with mischievous grins. 0

Lu Fei Fan, engrossed in his cultivation of the Fu Mai Xi Shu, was unceremoniously abandoned by those two rascals. 0

“Ma Er Lang, carrying a backpack to school…” Lu Fei Fan hummed a tune while tidying up. His possessions were few; he simply wanted to take a few more books home. 0

As he bent down to pack his things, he heard poetry being recited from outside the tent. 0

“Spring breeze gently blows, silence stretches wide, after the new rain in the empty mountains, the air feels like autumn in the evening, hmm, quite fitting…” 0

Just as those words fell, the tent flap was lifted by someone wielding a folded fan. Mei Xuefeng appeared before him, dressed in a sleek black leather outfit and holding a white gentleman's fan. 0

Lu Fei Fan quickly grabbed his Lie Hound and glared at this fellow who had once put him in a tight spot, his eyes filled with resentment. 0

Standing at the entrance with an air of elegance, Mei San Shao glanced at Lu Fei Fan’s large-caliber energy revolver. That weapon could charge up and was loaded with Energy Bullets; one shot could easily create a gaping hole in his body. 0

“Brother Hua…” Mei San Shao began to fan himself when— 0

With a swift motion, Lu Fei Fan aimed the Lie Hound directly at him. 0

The atmosphere froze momentarily. Mei San Shao felt a slight fluctuation in his Pulse Energy but remained calm; he sensed that although Lu Fei Fan harbored murderous intent, he had no intention of pulling the trigger. 0

“Hehe, Brother Hua, this isn’t how you treat your guests! The last time’s honey-glazed barbecue left me longing for more,” he said as he lowered his fan and gently pushed aside the muzzle of the Lie Hound aimed at him. 0

Once the gun was deflected, Lu Fei Fan slowly repositioned it back toward Mei San Shao. The latter pushed it away again, and this back-and-forth continued until Mei San Shao finally sighed impatiently. “Alright, alright, that’s enough! Stop pointing that thing at me; I’m not easily frightened.” 0

Seeing that he couldn’t intimidate this fellow, Lu Fei Fan shrugged and engaged the safety on his weapon before stowing it away. He crossed his arms and regarded this uninvited guest with an expression that was far from welcoming. 0

"You didn't come, so I was planning to find you. Now that you're here, I can't be bothered to look for you. Look, I've calculated it. This time, I've taken on most of the pursuers for you. On the way, I dealt with forty-seven of them... If we count each of them at a hundred thousand, that's four million. Plus the ammunition consumed along the way, and some hand grenades..." 0

"What the hell is this?" Mei San Shao interrupted. 0

"Shh, I'm not done yet. Also, I made you a honey-glazed barbecue, and there's the mental trauma from the poison you slipped into my drink..." 0

"Mental trauma charges too?" Mei San Shao glanced at the bill and protested decisively. 0

"Of course! I'm quite fragile mentally; I can't handle being poisoned and deceived!" Lu Fei Fan shamelessly explained. 0

"You..." 0

"And there's also the trauma fee..." Lu Fei Fan mumbled, still not finished. 0

"The trauma fee is already on here! You... you're definitely trying to extort me!" Mei San Shao's protest turned into an accusation. 0

Lu Fei Fan ignored him and continued reading: "There's also the psychological trauma fee, physical exhaustion fee, risk of escape fee, and the no rest fee on the way..." 0

"......" 0

Mei San Shao regretted coming to this godforsaken place tonight; it was clearly a mistake. This rogue was utterly shameless—no, he must be completely insane to bring up future wife fees when he had just been wronged. It was truly outrageous! 0

In the end, after agreeing to compensate him a million, Lu Fei Fan finally revealed a satisfied smile, one that resembled a brothel owner who had successfully squeezed a large sum of money from a client. 0

Once the negotiations were over, Mei San Shao no longer had the calm demeanor he had when he entered; instead, he looked puzzled and asked, "How did you know?" 0

Lu Fei Fan casually tossed his packed bag onto the ground and clapped his hands. "I was really frustrated at first; that feeling of being ambushed made me want to kill you. However, after I came out yesterday, I heard from an inspector that someone reported my score. I asked my two clueless brothers about it; it wasn't them. After thinking it over, it could only be you or Bai Xu Chang. But given my limited acquaintance with Bai Xu Chang, it shouldn't be him. So I figured it must be you." 0

"So you deduced that I intentionally led those pursuers away?" Mei San Shao twitched his eyelids; this logic seemed far-fetched even to him. Yet this fellow actually believed it and guessed correctly. 0

“Of course, I, Lu Fei Fan, am not someone to be trifled with. You all might have ill intentions, but to eat my food and then poison me? Honestly, if I had encountered you back then, I would have definitely fought you to the death.” Lu Fei Fan picked up a Fang Tooth Battle Blade from the table, ran his fingers along the edge, and looked up defiantly at Mei San Shao. 0

Mei San Shao regained his composure, seemingly unfazed by Lu Fei Fan's sharp reasoning. 0

“If we hadn’t had you draw their attention, it would have taken me a long time to get out. It just so happened that I ran into you, which saved me quite a bit of trouble and time,” Mei San Shao said nonchalantly while fanning himself. 0

Crash! 0

Lu Fei Fan swung the Fang Tooth Battle Blade and cleaved the table in half! 0

Mei San Shao was momentarily stunned, then put away his fan and pushed Lu Fei Fan aside. “You lunatic! Why are you swinging a knife around? You nearly scared me to death!” 0

Lu Fei Fan shrugged his shoulders. “I’m just letting certain people know that I don’t like being toyed with or betrayed. If you try to scheme against me like this again, I won’t back down so easily.” 0

“Alright, alright.” Mei San Shao immediately lost his temper. He had already schemed against this Fellow once and found himself completely at a disadvantage; he simply couldn’t get angry. 0

“I came here tonight to drink and chat about life with you. I didn’t come here to argue or debate. Besides, you know that my Golden Cicada Shedding Its Shell plan was forced upon me because of you…” Mei San Shao sighed and shook his head. 0

“By the way, I’m quite curious,” Lu Fei Fan suddenly remembered something and asked. 0

“Curious about what?” Mei San Shao inquired. 0

“What exactly did you steal from that Fellow? Those people are not simple,” Lu Fei Fan recalled his encounters with them; they were anything but ordinary—more like a well-coordinated mercenary team or private guards. 0

“Of course they’re not ordinary. He’s one of the four major families of the Jin Family—Ke Family’s ‘Crocodile King,’ Ke Yuanbo…” 0

“Crocodile King? Ke Yuanbo?” Lu Fei Fan noted these two names. He didn’t know much about these powerful family members but realized he needed to investigate their backgrounds thoroughly. It seemed that everyone he encountered was increasingly complicated—either from powerful families or with intricate backgrounds—making it hard to offend anyone. Yet this rascal had dragged him into this mess. He shot a disdainful glance at Mei San Shao and shook his head helplessly. 0

“What’s wrong? Planning to extort me again? Well, this time I’m really broke. The business deal hasn’t even returned any profit yet; let’s skip the money talk. But I can offer drinks and barbecue,” he said as he turned to leave. 0

Lu Fei Fan followed them outside and saw A Teng and Da Li bustling about, gathering firewood for Hu Tian Er. They were clearly trying to win her favor. Hu Tian Er, on the other hand, sat casually by the fire, skillfully dispatching several turkeys with swift, precise movements, showcasing her expertise. 0

Mei San Shao plopped down next to the fire and casually grabbed a bottle of strong liquor, taking a hearty swig. 0

"Is the meat ready? I'm starving," Mei San Shao shouted in frustration. He had intended to tease Lu Fei Fan, but ended up feeling embarrassed instead. 0

Lu Fei Fan glanced over and stepped into the role of a professional barbecue chef. He took the roasted chicken that Hu Tian Er had prepared and expertly added the seasonings that A Teng and Da Li had already set out. 0

"Make sure to eat more, really dig in," Mei San Shao said abruptly before continuing to drink. 0

"Hmm?" Hu Tian Er, dressed in a striking red leather outfit that accentuated her curves, furrowed her brow and asked curiously, "Why?" 0

"Because this barbecue cost a million!" Mei San Shao replied fiercely. 0

"Ah..." 0

Hu Tian Er was momentarily stunned. Then she looked at Lu Fei Fan, who was humming while tending to the barbecue, as if she understood something. She burst into laughter, holding her stomach as she did. 0

"So you have your moments too! Hahaha..." She laughed so hard that she completely forgot about her image. 0
