The forest wilderness seemed to unfold like a series of exquisite backdrops, rapidly retreating behind him. His disheveled hair whipped in the wind as he carried a tactical Military Backpack loaded with three Energy Pistols, two Energy Submachine Guns, several magazines, and over a dozen Hand Grenades. This was undoubtedly an exhausting escape. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan knew that this Military Backpack had been deliberately left for him by Mei San Shao. When he found a moment to open the pack, he couldn't help but curse. 0

“Damn it, not even a bottle of water!” 0

As Lu Fei Fan sprinted forward, he dared not slacken his pace. He needed to precisely control his stamina and maintain a steady flow of Pulse Energy as he moved. 0

This terrifying ability to calculate came from the implanted chip in his brain. The chip continuously sent commands to his central nervous system and began supplying Pulse Energy while ensuring that the energy stored in his cells did not deplete but remained in a healthy cycle of reproduction and consumption. 0

Lu Fei Fan felt that within the chaotic universe of his mind, seven stars still shone brightly along with a sun. This Pulse Energy was enough to sustain him until he reached the exit; he remembered there was an exit about ten kilometers ahead. 0

Even so, behind him, another signal flare shot up from the trees. Lu Fei Fan mentally calculated and cursed under his breath as he pressed on. This was the fifth signal flare he had seen, and he could clearly sense that numerous Pulse Energy Fusers were closing in on him from both sides. 0

Ordinary mercenaries didn’t concern him much, but these were formidable opponents. Lu Fei Fan decided it was best to escape entirely; that was the rational choice. He no longer wanted to linger in this hunting ground. 0

At the very least, he needed to preserve his life. Once he got out of this hunting ground, he could think about everything else—after all, his father lay bedridden at home, and he could not afford to die here. 0

After another kilometer, an expanse of barren rocky grassland opened up ahead. Lu Fei Fan despised this terrain because if there were long-range snipers behind him, he would be completely exposed to their sights. 0

Just as this thought crossed his mind, Lu Fei Fan felt a sharp beam of light rushing toward him from behind. He instinctively dropped to the ground as a sniper bullet struck a nearby rock hill and exploded into fragments. 0

By the time the sniper regained their aim for a second shot, Lu Fei Fan had already vanished like a cunning rabbit into its burrow. 0

He crouched low as he advanced along the hills, gripping a Free Federation-standard Energy Submachine Gun. Although it took considerable time, Lu Fei Fan successfully evaded the pursuing sniper. Ahead, he could see the trees coming into view when suddenly, with a whoosh, a Rocket Artillery shot out from the forest trailing smoke and hurtled toward him menacingly! 0

“Damn!” 0

Lu Fei Fan covered his head and rolled away. 0

Boom! 0

The ballistic missile kicked up a towering wave of dirt; shrapnel spun through the air like deadly blades while rocks flew around like bullets. Fortunately, Lu Fei Fan managed to take cover behind a boulder, though his ears rang painfully from the explosion. 0

Lu Fei Fan didn't have time to think much. He grabbed his backpack and dashed toward the nearest forest. The ambush team hidden within the trees immediately opened fire, a cacophony of gunshots erupting as countless bullets spread out like a deadly web, raining down upon him! 0

Bullets whizzed past Lu Fei Fan's head, his heels, and just behind him, kicking up dust and shattering stones along his escape route, creating clouds of debris that erupted like geysers. 0

As Lu Fei Fan plunged into the woods, he turned to face several armed fellows charging toward him and unleashed a barrage of gunfire. Bullets ricocheted off the bodies of those still sprinting toward him, bursting forth in sprays of blood before they collapsed to the ground. 0

They clearly hadn't anticipated Lu Fei Fan's speed. Suddenly, over a dozen more people surged in from behind. Lu Fei Fan quickly ejected the empty magazine and replaced it with a fresh one. The sound of bullets firing echoed as they struck the tree trunks around him, splintering wood and sending fragments flying. 0

Lu Fei Fan retaliated, but unlike the chaotic shooting from those behind him, he listened for direction and seized the opportunity. Crouching down, his Energy Submachine Gun became a precise instrument as he fired Energy Bullets in quick succession. With sharp bursts, he hit several targets at nine o'clock, eleven o'clock, and seven o'clock positions simultaneously. In a fleeting glance, he saw two of them have their heads blown apart by his bullets, blood splattering everywhere. 0

Feigning that he was out of ammunition, Lu Fei Fan hid behind a thick tree trunk. As the group approached with their frantic gunfire, he had already removed the safety from four Energy Grenades and hurled them into the air. 0

The group looked up suddenly; by the time they realized what was happening, the grenades landed with a thud! 0

“Grenade!” 0

Boom! 0

The explosion shook the entire forest like an earthquake. Leaves fell in droves as those pursuing him were thrown to the ground amidst the chaos, groaning in pain. Many hadn’t even had time to react before shrapnel struck them down, rendering them incapable of fighting back. 0

In this way, Lu Fei Fan completely obliterated an ambush team that had been lying in wait for him. He vanished into the depths of the forest. 0

Behind him, a large group began to converge. Surprisingly, over a hundred people entered the woods in scattered formations. They halted at the site where Lu Fei Fan had decimated the ambushers while accompanying Military Doctors tended to the injured on-site. 0

The temporary commander overseeing the rescue was a robust man dressed in camouflage pants and vest; his military cap was red. 0

Before long, the crowd parted to reveal a young boy stepping forward. He appeared to be only about five feet tall and looked around fifteen or sixteen years old. His hair was neatly styled in a traditional topknot, and he wore a wine-red combat jacket paired with leather pants that accentuated his slim figure. A finely crafted dagger hung at his waist; however, his youthful features contrasted sharply with his cold demeanor. 0

Following closely behind him were two sisters who seemed to be around twenty years old. They wore revealing leather boots and military shorts that showcased their long legs and slim waists, topped off with camouflage uniforms that accentuated their curves. With berets perched atop their heads and fiery red lips framing their sultry smiles, they exuded an aura that made one want to overpower them. 0

“Gao Jing, what do we know about our opponents? In such a short time, over thirty people have lost their combat effectiveness,” the topknot boy questioned Gao Jing with evident displeasure directed at the robust commander. 0

“Must be a Third-Level Rookie,” replied Gao Jing, the Red Cap. 0

“How ridiculous, just a Third-Level Rookie. At least you’re a Special Class veteran…” The woman on the left, chewing gum and holding a Submachine Gun, spoke with a hint of sarcasm. 0

“Shut up, Shana!” The young man coldly interrupted her, clearly displeased with the interruption. 0

Gao Jing ignored the provocations from the brash woman and instead focused on checking the injured subordinates on the ground. He waved for someone to bring over a monitoring device. After a quick tap, a Light Screen appeared in the air, displaying a map of the hunting ground, with a light dot flashing and moving forward. 0

“Looking at his route, he seems to be heading straight for the southeastern exit of the hunting ground,” Gao Jing said as he turned off the display. “I find this situation rather suspicious.” 0

The young man calmed down and pondered for a moment before asking another woman who had been silent until now, “Sha Qi, are you sure the locator was installed on the Liuli Eagle?” 0

“Of course, I personally had it installed; there’s no way it’s wrong unless someone switched out the locator,” she replied slyly, glancing at her sister who was rolling her eyes while chewing gum. 0

“What do you mean?” The young man didn’t quite understand her implication. 0

“I mean, could we have fallen into someone else's trap? This fugitive might just be a scapegoat,” she explained further. Compared to her busty but dim-witted sister, she preferred to use her brain a little more. 0

The young man fell silent, blinking as he considered the direction of events. 0

“What do you think, Gao Jing?” he asked his trusted bodyguard. 0

“To be safe, I suggest we implement two plans simultaneously. We can send two teams to continue the pursuit while concentrating our forces to find the last monster on the card. Before the assessment ends, we should be able to handle it,” Gao Jing proposed two plans. 0

At that moment, another group appeared on the other side of the hill, numbering around fifty people. Leading them were Chu Wei Lan's two cousins, Chu Feng and Chu Feng Cheng. 0

“Hey, isn’t that Ke Yuanbo and Ke Er Ye?” one of the young men called out from a distance. 0

“Second brother, take it easy. Given this situation, it seems Ke Er Ye is in big trouble,” one of them remarked. 0

Ke Yuanbo looked at his two brothers with displeasure; their banter did little to lift his spirits. It seemed they had completed their assessment? 0

"Alright, Ke Er Ye, I'm doing you a favor here. I know several targets on the Card Deck that are in the hands of others. How about we form a team? With your manpower combined with ours, capturing them shouldn't be a problem," Chu Feng proposed. 0

This suggestion immediately brightened Ke Yuanbo's expression. He glanced at Gao Jing, who gave a subtle nod in response. Ke Yuanbo then nodded and said, "Fine, but let me make it clear: if you play tricks on me, you know the consequences." 0

Chu Feng waved his hand dismissively. "Don't worry, you have more people than we do. We just want to cooperate. If it weren't for our prey being snatched away by that damned Chu Wei Lan, we wouldn't be looking for partners." 0

"Chu Wei Lan?" Ke Yuanbo seemed familiar with the name. 0

"Gao Jing, send part of the team to continue the pursuit; the rest will follow them," he instructed. 0

Gao Jing then signaled to split off a portion of his team to chase after Lu Fei Fan, while most of the group turned to join Chu Feng and his brother, Chu Feng Cheng. 0

As Lu Fei Fan moved forward, he suddenly felt a significant reduction in pressure from behind. Had the enemy changed their target? Or was there another purpose? 0

He looked up at the sun overhead; it was beginning to tilt towards the west. In about three hours, it would likely be dark. Before darkness fell would be the deadline for the assessment. Although his prey had been taken by Mei San Shao, he had at least completed the basic examination for the Assessment and obtaining the Fuser title shouldn't be an issue. 0

As for the pursuers behind him, Lu Fei Fan chuckled softly. Those people were completely unable to catch up with him now; the exit was just a few kilometers away. He was finally about to escape this hunting ground, with safety just within reach. He could finally break free from this bloody chase. 0

He sighed in relief and continued forward, completely unaware that unexpected events awaited him at the assessment base... 0
