The battle erupted in an instant, as the human team clashed violently with the Poison Nest Spider King, tearing through the early morning forest night sky.
Behind them, flames raged fiercely, consuming everything in their path while illuminating the battlefield of this fierce struggle.
Three teams formed a triangle, challenging the spider overlord, the Poison Nest Spider King.
A man wielding a shield and hammer led three companions charging from the left. Their long swords clashed with the Spider King's sharp claws, creating sparks that flew in all directions. The Poison Nest Spider King shot out strands of Jiang Si, binding them together, only to be struck by the Spider King's powerful limbs, sending them crashing away.
The companions behind quickly tried to fill the gap left by their fallen comrades, but the immense strength of the Poison Nest Spider King sent each fully armed warrior flying out of the central battle zone.
After dispatching these heavily armored Carapace insects, the Poison Nest Spider King turned its attention to a group of attacking humans. This time, however, they were all women wielding swords. Their alternating swift and slow movements combined with exquisite swordplay formed a unique sword formation.
Their attacks and defenses were orderly, retreating and advancing with precision. Unlike the heavily armored brutes who charged recklessly, this sword formation appeared flawless. The agile sword lights continuously pierced into the spider's body, causing black blood to spurt forth. Yet, being women also made them vulnerable.
Suddenly, the Poison Nest Spider King raised its limbs and slammed down with a thunderous crash!
The ground shook violently, causing five women at the center of the sword formation to falter momentarily. The Poison Nest Spider King roared as a stream of silk shot out, ensnaring several women's swords and pulling them aside, even knocking one down. The Spider King then lifted its limbs and viciously aimed at one of the fallen women trapped by its web!
Their captain rushed forward with her long sword. Clang!
The spider's limb was deflected away, but the Female Captain staggered back repeatedly, releasing wisps of pale Pulse Energy to stabilize herself. Meanwhile, her teammates hurried to help her back on her feet.
"Hey, aren't you going to make your move?" the Female Captain called out upon seeing Xie Yuanbai still lingering outside the fray.
Xie Yuanbai let out a cold snort and smiled as he twirled his curved blades like a dazzling wheel of cold light. He dashed forward swiftly as strands of Jiang Si shot toward him from the Poison Nest Spider King; however, he deftly dodged left and right with ease.
As the human lunged forward, the creature's limbs snapped together like a pair of scissors, ready to slice through the approaching figure!
But another silhouette appeared even faster at the intersection of the 'scissors'—it was Da Shuo, wielding dual gun blades!
He burst forth, enveloped in a pale green Pulse Energy and Light Screen, causing his clothes to tear apart with a sizzling sound, revealing muscles coiled like steel, veins bulging, and a resonant clang!
The Poison Nest Spider King found its two massive limbs caught by this man’s sheer strength!
Surprised by the formidable force emanating from this seemingly insignificant human, the Spider King felt an unexpected surge of anger. Flames erupted around its form as it drew its limbs back to strike!
However, its limbs were immediately ensnared by several strands of Hong Si!
“Mind Weaver!” exclaimed the Female Captain in astonishment as she fought fiercely.
Behind her, Hong Xin's eyes rolled back as she entered a peculiar state, slowly levitating above the ground. Red threads swirled around her, binding the Spider King's limbs in mid-air, trembling slightly as if engaged in a struggle.
Meanwhile, the black dog darted around Zhan Dao, harassing the Spider King from below. Even faster was Xie Yuanbai, who leaped up and landed precisely on the Poison Nest Spider King's back. His dual blades whirled like a tempest across its spine, instantly spraying blood and flames.
The Poison Nest Spider King howled in fury, continuously shifting its body and relentlessly attacking the regrouping human squads below.
With Xie Yuanbai's team joining the fray, the situation quickly turned unfavorable for the Poison Nest Spider King.
Yet despite this disadvantage, the Spider King began to pound the ground. From the inferno raging through the forest, hordes of spiders emerged, their bodies ablaze. Undeterred by their fiery state, they charged towards Xie Yuanbai and the other Human Squads!
The battle raged with unusual intensity, as the spiders summoned by the Spider King charged fearlessly into the fray, forcing the other two teams to focus on dealing with the Fire Spider, while the Poison Nest Spider King was left to Xie Yuanbai.
Xie Yuanbai plunged his twin blades into the bulging body of the Spider King, the black viscous liquid being scorched away in the flames. As it twitched its tail, Xie Yuanbai nimbly leaped off from above.
His boots and clothing were already singed, a testament to the flames emanating from the Poison Nest Spider King's own Pulse Energy, which had a burning effect.
Bang—
The limb that had been grappling with the Poison Nest Spider King suddenly snapped, two of its limbs crashing down!
Da Shuo, who had pinned down two of the Poison Nest Spider King's claws, suddenly looked up. With a powerful swing of his weapon, the Double Blade gun erupted with astonishing Pulse Energy, shooting forth like a shallow green crescent blade, striking one side of the Poison Nest Spider King's limbs with a clang!
The Poison Nest Spider King staggered.
"Now's our chance!"
Xie Yuanbai shot back up again, his twin blades flashing like lightning as they plunged into the Poison Nest Spider King's previous eye.
Hiss!
The Poison Nest Spider King let out an enraged roar. Bang! Its claws swept wildly, and Xie Yuanbai was sent flying like a cannonball, crashing into a tree before finally coming to a stop. He climbed to his feet and wiped the blood from his mouth, feeling as if his insides had been smashed by a giant hammer, burning with pain.
"It's trying to escape! Hong Xin, hold it down!" The black dog noticed something was amiss with the Poison Nest Spider King.
Hong Xin once again controlled Hong Si with both hands, entangling its limbs. However, the force was overwhelming, and she was dragged forward by the Spider King.
"Charge!" The captain, wielding a warhammer and shield, led his team into battle, clashing with the Poison Nest Spider King. They struck blow after blow against the Spider King, but its claws swept wildly, sending several of them tumbling.
Just as the battle seemed to be turning against them, the Women's Sword Squad re-entered the fray, bringing the situation back to a stalemate. The fearless Fire-Shape Spiders continued to attack other team members relentlessly.
"Get back!" Xie Yuanbai shouted, tossing a backpack that rolled to the feet of the Spider King. He fired his Sniper Rifle with a loud bang.
The silver bullet struck the Military Backpack, and with a deafening explosion, it sent the massive body of the Poison Nest Spider King flying. It also propelled other team members who were engaged in combat with the Fire Spiders into the air.
One of the Poison Nest Spider King's limbs was blown off, black blood oozing from its body like a lake. The flames engulfing it began to die down, and a charred smell spread through the air.
The flames from the forest surged in from all directions as others cleared away the fallen spiders and began to regroup around the fallen Poison Nest Spider King.
"You hurt my team!" shouted a rough man armored behind his shield at Xie Yuanbai, clearly furious.
"Hmm?" Xie Yuanbai tilted his head. "What did you say?"
"I said you hurt my people! Are you deaf or something?" The man was extremely displeased and aggressive.
Bang!
The man was flailing his arms and legs, trying to say something, but a blast from a large-caliber shotgun sent him flying. Xie Yuanbai approached, firing a few more shots into him.
"I'll fight you to the end!" Two of the team members, seeing their captain killed, roared as they charged forward.
However, their limbs were quickly ensnared by Hong Si. Hong Xin looked at them as if they were puppets being pulled by strings. Their necks were slowly constricted until they gasped for breath and finally fell limp.
Xie Yuanbai then turned his gaze towards the Women's Sword Squad in the distance. They looked at him and his companions with fear.
"You..." One of the women picked up her longsword, refusing to yield.
"You want to kill us to silence us!" She narrowed her eyes at Xie Yuanbai.
"It was he who tried to attack me first," Xie Yuanbai shrugged, feigning innocence. "We can still share the qualifications for the Poison Nest Spider King."
The Female Captain of the Women's Sword Squad hesitated. Looking at the bodies lying on the ground, she struggled internally. She could accept the survival of the fittest in this era; it was just that she worried about what tricks Xie Yuanbai might have up his sleeve.
Xie Yuanbai walked straight up to the corpse of the Poison Nest Spider King and pulled out two daggers lodged in its eyes, blood oozing from the wounds.
His daggers glinted coldly as they sliced through the Spider King's body, creating a gash.
"Ah? Look, it's a beast treasure..." He seemed to have discovered something.
"What!?" The Female Captain's attention was suddenly caught by his words, causing her to lower her guard.
Whoosh!
Something flew past like a whirlwind, shooting through the air with lightning speed.
Crack!
“Captain!!”
The Sword Team Captain froze in place, a dagger thrown by Xie Yuanbai embedded in her forehead. She fell to the ground, eyes wide open in death.
The other two female team members gritted their teeth and drew their swords, ready to charge forward. Black Dog furrowed his brow; despite his hesitation, he finally opened fire with the energy machine gun he held.
Tat tat tat—
The bodies of the two women were pierced like water balloons, blood splattering everywhere until they collapsed beside their captain. Their blood quickly pooled beneath the corpses, forming a crimson puddle.
“After this job, I won’t work with you again!” Black Dog said, looking at the bodies on the ground with disgust.
“We’re cut from the same cloth; otherwise, why would you shoot?” Xie Yuanbai squinted at him, as if she had seen through him long ago.
Black Dog gritted his teeth, the sudden tension in his jawline revealing his irritation. He shot one last glance at Xie Yuanbai before turning to shout for Da Shuo and Hong Xin to clean up the battlefield.
The rescue team would likely arrive soon.
Xie Yuanbai stood before the Poison Nest Spider King, sensing something unusual. He swiftly sliced through the bulging body of the Spider King with his dual blades, and suddenly, the dissected body revealed a glowing pink light!
"What is this…?"
"It's its Heart!" Black Dog approached, gazing into the body of the Poison Nest Spider King, where a pulsating Heart radiated light.
"It seems quite young. If it were given a few hundred more years to grow, it would likely become a terrifying existence akin to a Colossal Creature," Hong Xin remarked from behind them.
Xie Yuanbai used his knife to sever the Heart from its other Meridians, cradling it in his hands. Miraculously, the Heart began to change shape, eventually shrinking to the size of a fist. Xie Yuanbai stuffed it into an empty Military Backpack beside him.
Suddenly, a thunderous explosion echoed from a nearby forest.
Boom!
Xie Yuanbai and the others were instantly drawn to the sound, unaware that a figure had darted out of the trees at lightning speed!
It was Lu Fei Fan, who had gathered all his strength and hurled three bundled explosive grenades directly at their heads.
