As night fell, the hunting grounds became increasingly perilous with the onset of the Special Assessment. 0

The sounds of gunfire and anguished cries echoed throughout the area. Many who were satisfied with becoming Fusers had already completed their tasks and exited the hunting grounds. Those who remained, continuing to fight for the Special Assessment mission, were either hoping for a stroke of luck to elevate themselves through sheer strength or belonged to a group of individuals with absolute power. 0

In this Hunting Game, it was often the weaker ones who became prey, while the strong emerged as hunters reaping their rewards. 0

Thus, as night deepened, the intensity of the assessment battles seemed to escalate. Signal flares shot up into the sky as rescue teams deployed Illumination Shells to extract injured members. The bright bursts of light pierced through the tumultuous darkness of the jungle wilderness, illuminating the vast hunting grounds where various factions clashed in a bid for qualification. 0

Lu Fei Fan was stealthily navigating through the trees. He was well aware of the card's contents and rules; by hunting any monster listed on the card and reporting back, he could earn a spot in the Stunt Training Camp. 0

His target was the Poison Nest Spider King, as he found himself in a desolate forest inhabited by Venomous Nest Spiders. Just as he pushed aside a cluster of leaves with his fang-like weapon, a glint of cold light descended from above. He quickly raised his Zhan Dao to defend himself! 0

Clang! 0

Sparks flew in the darkness as a colossal creature loomed downwards. It had a physique reminiscent of a bloated pig, supported by eight sharp limbs that sustained its ravenous body. The two front limbs were particularly massive, hard as sharp weapons and black as iron. It gazed at Lu Fei Fan with four menacing eyes, watching him like a predator eyeing its next meal. 0

This Venomous Nest Spider was larger than any Lu Fei Fan had encountered before; it appeared to be an evolved variant of the Venomous Nest Spider. However, Lu Fei Fan's instincts told him that this was not the Poison Nest Spider King he sought. At least in terms of size and presence, it fell short compared to the fierce image etched in his memory from the card. 0

The spider, oblivious to any danger posed by this human, was driven by hunger after lying in wait for so long. Finally spotting a solitary human, it was determined to make a meal out of him! 0

Hiss! 0

A burst of white silk shot toward him like an arrow. 0

Lu Fei Fan tilted his head to evade it, but before he could regain his footing, the massive creature lunged forward. Its claws pierced through the air like double blades aimed at him. Lu Fei Fan activated his footwork, skillfully dodging the Venomous Nest Spider's ferocious assault! 0

“Dodge left and right; move like a dragon through empty space. A falcon flips and turns back, navigating through nine palaces without pause,” Lu Fei Fan muttered under his breath. 0

The Fang Tooth Battle Blade in his hand swung out repeatedly as he dodged, while the Venomous Nest Spider, infuriated by this cunning human who always managed to evade its attacks, increased its force in retaliation. 0

Back and forth, a man and a spider clashed in the dark jungle, sparks flying and flickering against the night sky. 0

The clanging sounds of their Sharp Weapons also attracted the attention of others passing nearby. 0

On a large tree, two figures stood side by side, calmly observing the scene of the young man fiercely battling the Venomous Nest Spider from a distance. 0

"Is this Fellow really that strong? It seems we've encountered him several times today; each time he fights with his prey for over ten minutes or even half an hour," remarked a young man holding a fan, gently fanning himself. The fan bore an ancient and vigorous character for 'Plum.' He was none other than Mei San Shao, who had met Lu Fei Fan before. 0

If it weren't for the intricately designed Longbow and a quiver of arrows slung over his back, one might think he was merely out for a leisurely stroll. 0

"Strong? Are you sure he's not just looking for trouble?" The woman beside him, clad in tight red leather, raised an eyebrow. Her alluring figure was accentuated by the leather outfit, and her beautiful face would certainly lead anyone to imagine what lay beneath. 0

"Oh? Then we must hear what our sharp-eyed sister Hu Tian Er has to say," Mei San Shao teased in response. 0

Hu Tian Er smiled and pointed at Lu Fei Fan's movements. "Look at his footwork; it drives his body movements, stepping lightly as if dancing with the wind. He navigates through the nine palaces effortlessly, progressing steadily while mastering the profound." 0

Mei Xuefeng took a closer look and realized that Hu Tian Er was indeed correct. Lu Fei Fan's steps were remarkably rhythmic as he maneuvered through an imaginary grid, skillfully advancing and retreating while entangled with the Venomous Nest Spider. 0

"This is... the Nine Palace Steps!" Mei Xuefeng recognized it immediately, having seen such techniques before. 0

"Yes," Hu Tian Er nodded in agreement. "But it seems different from the usual Nine Palace Steps we've encountered; this Fellow must have modified it himself." 0

"So every time he deliberately battles those monsters, it's to hone this technique and then improve it further?" Mei Xuefeng mused skeptically. 0

"Close enough," Hu Tian Er conceded without contradiction. 0

"Forget it. We should focus on the important matters first. After all, I'm still someone deep in debt, a person without a father’s love or a mother’s care—what a miserable fate. Sigh, enough of that, let’s go," Mei Xuefeng sighed and jumped down from the tree branch. 0

Hu Tian Er stood on the branch, turned her head, and took another careful look at Lu Fei Fan, who was nearing the end of his battle with the Venomous Nest Spider in the distance. 0

"Learning some tricks? How interesting..." 0

With that, she gracefully turned and leaped down from the branch, disappearing into the night. 0

Lu Fei Fan wielded his Fang and infused it with Pulse Energy. The fatigued Venomous Nest Spider could no longer withstand his full-force strike. It raised its two front limbs to block, but with a loud bang! 0

A spark flew as the Fang sliced through its front limbs. 0

It let out an enraged roar and lunged at Lu Fei Fan in a frenzy, spewing large amounts of white spider silk from its mouth. Lu Fei Fan dodged just in time as the venomous web slammed against the tree branch, scorching a gaping wound into it. 0

Lu Fei Fan knelt down, his body sliding along the ground like an eel, slipping beneath the spider. With a swift motion, he drove the Fang into its body and abdomen, creating a horrifying gash! 0

As Lu Fei Fan slid past it, the spider stumbled forward in an attempt to stabilize itself, but ultimately, blood and internal organs spilled out from its abdomen wound, causing its limbs to twist and collapse lifelessly to the ground. 0

Lu Fei Fan let out a sigh of relief. He knew someone was watching him but felt no obvious hostility, so he didn’t bother to pay attention. After all, he was using an ordinary Military Combat Technique; as for his footwork—he had just learned it today. He could practice however he liked; it didn’t matter. 0

He took what was useful from the Venomous Nest Spider's lair and tossed it into his already overflowing backpack before quickly leaving. 0

Not long after he departed, a group of three men and one woman emerged from another part of the forest. 0

These four were part of Xie Yuanbai's hunting team. 0

The black dog sniffed the air filled with the scent of blood, then lowered its head to examine the footprints. It picked up a handful of dirt and sniffed it before standing up and walking over to observe the corpse of the already deceased Venomous Nest Spider. 0

“Exhausted in battle, killed with a single blow,” Da Shuo remarked as he was the first to examine the corpse. 0

The Black Dog nodded. “The scent left by that person, A Zi, is identical to the one at Dong Ming's location. It’s likely that it was the same assailant who ambushed Dong Ming.” 0

“It’s a pity we’re too late; otherwise, we might have caught a glimpse of their true identity,” Hong Xin said nonchalantly, twirling a lock of hair with an innocent expression. 0

“Where did he go?” Da Shuo suddenly asked the Black Dog. 0

The Black Dog furrowed his brow, sniffing the air before taking a few steps forward. He then pointed in a specific direction. 0

“That way,” he said. 0

“Why would he also be heading along this route?” Xie Yuanbai questioned, looking towards that direction. “Could it be that he’s also going after the Poison Nest Spider King?” 0

A sense of foreboding crept into Xie Yuanbai's mind. 0

“Let’s chase!” 0

With that, he urged the others to move quickly. They didn’t want their quarry to be snatched away by someone else. 0

Lu Fei Fan moved swiftly through the night, feeling an undeniable sense of danger lurking behind him. This instinct for survival had developed over time, especially pronounced in the dark jungle where such feelings were amplified. 0

He advanced rapidly but suddenly came to an abrupt stop as if he had slammed on the brakes. 0

“Don’t move! If you do, we’ll shoot you dead!” A voice rang out from the trees ahead. 0

Then, from behind several trees, three men emerged into the darkness. Lu Fei Fan caught a glimpse of them illuminated by a nearby flashbang and was slightly taken aback; they looked exactly alike—triplet brothers. 0

Three figures stood in a triangular formation before him, each aiming an Energy Gun at Lu Fei Fan. These were close-range, high-caliber energy shotguns designed for lethal damage. 0

"Hand over everything in your bag!" the young man on the left ordered, shaking his gun threateningly. 0

"Take it slow. If you try anything funny, I'll blow your brains out!" the man on the right quickly added. 0

"Get down and cover your head," the one in the middle said as he took a couple of steps forward, intending to disarm Lu Fei Fan personally. 0

Lu Fei Fan slowly raised his hands to cover his head, feeling around behind him until he found an Energy Grenade tucked inside his bag. It was placed on top for quick access in emergencies. 0

"Take off your backpack and throw it on the ground!" The man in the middle closed the distance between them. 0

Lu Fei Fan complied, slipping off his backpack and tossing it aside while keeping his hands on his head. One hand discreetly pulled the Safety Ring from the grenade. 0

The man in front approached cautiously with his gun drawn. 0

Just then, bang! 0

A gunshot rang out from the forest behind Lu Fei Fan, a streak of light cutting through the dark trees, heading straight for him! 0

Lu Fei Fan suddenly sensed danger and turned around, but before he could react, a searing impact struck him squarely in the back, sending him sprawling. 0

Agonizing pain surged through Lu Fei Fan's spine like a tidal wave, nearly drowning his senses and causing him to lose consciousness. Just as he felt himself slipping away, he bit down hard on his lip to force himself to endure that moment! 0

He rolled on the ground and threw the Hand Grenade towards the two men in front of him after pulling out the Safety Ring. 0

"Watch out! Hand Grenade!" 0

The two men fell forward, and the one in front quickly reacted and pounced down as well. 0

Boom! 0

The explosion sent up clouds of dust and bursts of light, buzzing in their eardrums like thunder. 0

By the time they regained their senses, they realized that Lu Fei Fan had already vanished without a trace, along with his backpack. 0

Before they could lift their heads to search the surroundings, a barrage of bullets shot from the opposite forest, ringing out like a series of metallic chimes—clang, clang, clang— 0

Light Bullets ruthlessly struck the trees and ground, creating craters and kicking up dirt. 0

"Damn it, let's fight back!" one of them shouted as he grabbed his energy weapon and opened fire towards the forest. 0

In an instant, a flurry of Energy Bullets flew back and forth like a torrential rain, emotionlessly illuminating the darkness of the wooded area and revealing just a glimpse of the bloody hunt that unfolded in the night. 0
