The waves surged forward like a tsunami, rolling in with an overwhelming force!
Their ferocity resembled an army of thousands, intent on overturning and flattening everything in their path.
If struck by these waves, the frail ferry that Lu Fei Fan and the others were on would be utterly incapable of withstanding the monstrous tides, facing the imminent risk of capsizing at any moment.
Many people held their breath, watching the surging tide approach with a sense of despair. This Ancient Behemoth could easily summon towering waves with a mere shift of its weight. All they could do was wait in hopelessness, feeling as if they were simply awaiting their doom.
The ferry's speed had been pushed to its limits, yet it still could not escape the encroaching waves. The vessel rocked increasingly, teetering on the brink of capsizing.
The captain stomped his foot, and with a loud bang!
A surge of white energy radiated from the center of the ship, rippling outward. The incoming wave collided with this Pulse Energy, bursting apart with a resounding crash as if it had struck an invisible object.
However, this did little to mitigate the impact of the waves; it merely stabilized the ship somewhat. The captain did not stop there; he continued to unleash the Pulse Energy stored within his body in successive bursts!
“Captain!”
A slender figure darted in front of him—it was Peach Blossom. She looked pale and weak, her body covered in wounds, and her tactical vest and military uniform were tattered and stained, revealing just how fierce the recent battle had been.
“Captain, please don’t…” she urged again, trying to stop him.
Around her, two or three injured Young Officers rushed forward to plead with him.
“Yes, Captain! If you keep this up, you’ll damage your Pulse Energy foundation.”
“This concerns your future; please think it through…”
Yet the captain persisted in channeling his stored Pulse Energy to stabilize the ship against the waves' impact.
“I can’t worry about that right now. We need to survive first before we can think about anything else.” His expression was resolute, showing no hesitation as he looked at his concerned subordinates with gratitude.
“Captain, let me help!”
“Let me do it!”
“I’ll join too!”
The Young Officers eagerly volunteered, activating their military Pulse Breathing Techniques, intending to resonate with the Captain’s Pulse Energy.
However, with a wave of his hand, the Captain disrupted their efforts, halting their techniques.
“As long as I’m here, it’s not your turn yet!” the Captain declared. “Step back and take care of our injured brothers!”
Suddenly—
A roar echoed through the air, a sound from the Ancient Behemoth that shook the entire ocean. Even the thunder and lightning in the thick black clouds above dared not clash, instantly dimmed by the overwhelming presence.
Following that, a powerful wave of oppressive energy surged forth from the Ancient creature's roar, crashing like a tidal wave. The turbulent air currents swept in from afar with even greater ferocity, the waves towering higher and more dangerous than before. The initial shockwave nearly capsized the Ferry on which they stood!
Many inside the cabin were knocked unconscious by the terrifying beast's roar.
“Prehistoric Behemoth!”
The Captain unleashed a surge of Pulse Energy to counteract the incoming pressure. Although he mitigated some of its force, he could not stop the colossal tsunami that was forming behind it!
A massive wave, over ten meters high, loomed before them like an enormous wall. The shadow of the rising tide had already engulfed the area where the Ferry floated, extending far beyond.
Even if they wanted to escape, it was clear they wouldn’t make it in time…
The Captain disregarded everything else in that moment. Gritting his teeth, he channeled all his Pulse Energy into a brilliant red light and charged toward the massive black wave!
Lu Fei Fan watched as the faint light surged toward the massive shadow of the tidal wave, an act no different from striking a stone with an egg or a moth flying into a flame. The wave was simply too enormous; its shadow loomed high enough to obscure the lightning clouds above. What could a mere human do, even if they burned their own Pulse Energy without hesitation?
Nothing could stop this.
This was the overwhelming power of the Ancient Behemoth!
The insignificant beings could only struggle for survival in the face of the tsunami it unleashed. The captain's heroic actions inspired many warriors, but there was nothing they could do; they could only watch helplessly as their respected captain collided with the towering wall of water.
Boom!
The vertical wall of water, dozens of meters high, saw the captain's figure crash against it like an ant or a fly.
Boom—
A burst of energy exploded against the water wall, sending shockwaves through it. White light rippled across the surface like waves spreading outwards. The segment of the water wall that should have collapsed and fallen toward the Ferry seemed to freeze in place.
Lu Fei Fan raised the scope of his Sniper Rifle to look into the distance. He saw the captain pressed against the back of the water wall, arms and legs spread wide. A massive transparent energy barrier continuously resisted the water wall, layers of rippling energy flowing from his body into this energy net. His face twisted in strain, veins bulging, his clothes completely disintegrated, his entire body flushed red!
Yet he forced himself to challenge the limits of his Pulse Energy again and again; one misstep could lead to utter destruction.
What was astonishing was that he managed to hold back a tidal wave wall that was thirty to forty meters long all by himself!
This was the gift of human strength!
The surging waves crashed against an invisible barrier as if hitting transparent glass, unable to advance. However, seawater continued to flow slowly around both sides of this obstructed wall. Meanwhile, the Ferry was speeding away from this massive wave, still nearly a hundred meters from the towering water wall.
Roar!
The beast's roar erupted once more.
"Not good, look up!" someone shouted from the Ferry.
Everyone raised their heads, and amidst the clouds behind the towering wall of waves, a massive black tentacle covered in suction cups seemed to descend from the sky, crashing heavily against the intercepted water wall.
Boom!
The water wall shattered with a thunderous explosion, torrents of water surging down like an unstoppable flood.
It was as if glass had shattered, and the monstrous waves rushed toward the Ferry like a raging river.
Witnessing this terrifying scene felt apocalyptic; many on the Ferry began to scream and flee from the stern to the bow, desperately hoping to grasp any chance of survival.
But what difference did it make? In this boundless ocean, with countless sea monsters lurking beneath, and tumultuous waves crashing all around, even making it off the ship alive would only lead to a slow death.
A Teng and Niu Dali followed the crowd toward the bow, while Lu Fei Fan stood still, gazing at the colossal tsunami wall. Memories of facing unknown alien beings aboard that ancient spaceship flooded back to him. Despite having been in this world for over a decade, he could never forget that fear. Yet this time, he felt oddly calm, standing alone at the violently swaying stern and watching the magnificent tsunami unfold before him.
Suddenly, he closed his eyes and spread his arms wide as if to embrace the towering tsunami wall, preparing to welcome death once more.
To him, death was merely the end of this journey of reincarnation; this world was just a stage for him—a cycle that might lead him to another different realm.
But then, amidst the swirling layers of Lead Cloud above them, a brilliant streak shot down like a meteor!
Just as the waves were about to engulf the Ferry in a moment of crisis, that streak crashed down onto the stern with a resounding impact.
As Lu Fei Fan stood there with his arms open, waiting for death, he suddenly felt an overwhelming brightness before him. Could it be that the gates of heaven had swung wide open? He opened his eyes and was instantly met with an astonishing sight.
A figure stood boldly before him, radiating an aura of grandeur. Flames engulfed his form, but these flames were not ordinary; they were powerful Energy Forms—pure Pulse Energy that was unmatched in strength!
They surged forth like blue flames, crackling sparks flashing around him, enveloping the figure in a vivid light of pale blue lightning fire, fiercely burning and boiling. Yet what boiled was the indomitable spirit and overwhelming willpower of a strong warrior.
Without lifting his gaze, he took a stance and stepped forward, not even glancing at the crashing wall of water. With a roar, the entire swaying ship seemed to be firmly anchored to the sea surface. In an instant, his fists shone brilliantly as he struck out towards the front!
Two massive blue energy columns crashed into the water wall like thunderbolts.
Boom—
The tremendous explosion made Lu Fei Fan's ears ring as he was thrown down by the powerful shockwave. What astonished him was that the two simple punches unleashed by that strong warrior erupted with terrifying, unmatched power. The colossal energy columns broke through the towering water wall, instantly vaporizing countless gallons of seawater. The tsunami-like wall of water disintegrated in an instant, collapsing into nothingness.
The entire sea rippled violently, and this scene seemed to enrage the Ancient Behemoth lurking in the distant fog. It roared, extending several massive tentacles in an attempt to provoke an even greater tsunami.
“Good!” the warrior exclaimed excitedly, “Let me have a proper encounter with you, Lei Wanjun!”
With that, he surged from the stern of the ship like a shooting star, soaring high into the thick black clouds filled with lightning and thunder, then crashing down into the sea where the giant beast resided, surrounded by dazzling arcs of electricity!
Bang!
The ocean trembled violently as immense waves and surging waters rapidly spread from the center of the explosion, though it did not create a tsunami.
Following that, the fog-laden sea area erupted with thunderous booms that were extremely terrifying.
Even in the sky, water tornadoes descended continuously, only to be swept away by the giant beast's tentacles or directly destroyed by splintering energy!
Gradually, that section of sea became like the eye of a storm, gathering chaotic energies such as lightning, hurricanes, and towering waves.
Everyone on the ferry understood that it was that human warrior who was engaged in a fierce battle with the Ancient Behemoth!
After a while, that warrior transformed into a streak of rainbow light arcing gracefully before landing precisely in front of Lu Fei Fan.
“What a magnificent Ancient Behemoth! Given time, it could grow to be a ruler-level creature; what a pity,” he said without a scratch on him. His voice was deep as he shook off his cloak, causing the surging flames of energy around him to extinguish instantly.
Lu Fei Fan finally had the chance to witness the true form of the human warrior before him. The man was tall and robust, with thick eyebrows and large eyes. He wore a somewhat worn military uniform from the Free Federation, and behind him fluttered a tattered cape emblazoned with an elaborate character for "Thunder."
He appeared to be in his thirties, with a high nose and broad mouth. His square face bore the marks of age and experience, and his gaze was commanding as he surveyed the scene.
He glanced at the bewildered survivors on the ship before focusing his attention on Lu Fei Fan, his brow slightly furrowing.
In that moment, Lu Fei Fan felt as if he were being scrutinized by an immense power; it was as though all his secrets were laid bare beneath the piercing gaze of this formidable figure. However, the man quickly withdrew his scrutiny.
Suddenly, there was a roar in the sky as three black fighter jets resembling giant birds emerged from the clouds. They hovered above the ferry, creating a gap in formation, and soon another aircraft appeared—a peculiar transport aircraft shaped like a manta ray.
The craft hovered mid-air, its cabin door illuminated as several ropes descended. A dozen fully armed soldiers clad in black combat armor dropped down like fish from water. Leading them was a man not wearing mechanical armor; he stood tall and imposing, exuding an air of cold detachment. Notably, he wore a half-black silver mask, which paired with his specially designed black suit of armor and the expensive energy longsword slung across his back, made him appear exceptionally gallant.
The armored soldiers quickly surrounded their leader, and the one named Zhong Nian stepped forward to report.
"It seems you didn't kill that giant beast; it has just submerged into the deep sea and escaped. Our tracking signals can no longer follow it."
The general nodded in acknowledgment before walking over to Lu Fei Fan.
"What is your name?" he asked.
"Lu Fei Fan," Lu Fei Fan replied firmly, standing tall and confident.
The general nodded again and scanned the soldiers on the ship who were also watching him.
"Thank you for your hard work."
He turned to leave but paused as if recalling something. He tossed a black spherical object to Lu Fei Fan and patted his shoulder before swiftly grabbing onto a rope that hung down, propelling himself back up to the hovering landing flying ship.
The deputy left behind instructed the surrounding armored warriors, "Ma Wei, you all stay here to assist them in returning to port."
"Yes!" responded one of the captain officers immediately.
Soon after, the deputy commander also pulled a rope and ascended into the hovering Flying Ship. The Flying Ship closed its door and swiftly departed the area along with the other three Fighter Jets.
Meanwhile, the Armored Warriors began to take control of the Ferry. One of them removed his Armor and Mask, revealing an ordinary face, and asked, "Who is the commander here?"
The people around looked at each other, but no one answered.
"I am."
After a long pause, someone finally raised their hand to respond. It was none other than Tao Hua.
"You?" The Armored Warrior looked skeptically at Tao Hua's rank; as a Young Officer, he held the title of Second Lieutenant. The highest commander? It seemed that this ship had suffered heavy losses, and the Major-level captain must have perished.
"I want to ask, who was that person just now?" Tao Hua suddenly inquired.
"Who?" The Armored Warrior chuckled, and those around him joined in laughter. "You don't even recognize the famous Thunder Jun, Major General?"
"Thunder General? He is the one who gained fame by slaying the Fire God Red King Centipede with overwhelming force... the newly appointed War God Thunder Jun?" Tao Hua murmured in disbelief, seemingly unable to accept what he had just heard.
The Captain shook his head and did not respond, as such topics were rather dull to him.
