Three Banded Octopuses lunged forward, and in an instant, the young man swiftly holstered his pistol into his waist. In the blink of an eye, he grasped something at his side and swung it outwards, a fierce cold light flashing through the air!
Six tentacles shot out simultaneously!
The young man with long black hair held a shimmering longsword!
It was the Soft Sword!
Just moments ago, he had been holding a gun; he must have drawn this Soft Sword from his waist. It was forged from segments of Special Metal, allowing it to transform into a blade with a flick of his wrist, razor-sharp and deadly.
Normally, this sword was concealed at his waist like a belt, making it hard to detect.
The three Octopuses let out anguished cries of pain; one quickly retreated and dove back into the sea, while the other two remained poised, their tentacles raised, watching the dangerous young man intently.
As a flash of lightning crackled in the air, the two Banded Octopuses seized the moment and charged forward. Their four crossing tentacles pierced through like Sharp Weapons in an instant.
The Black-Haired Youth's footwork suddenly became erratic, moving with astonishing speed. His form blurred as if layers of shadows were sliding left and right, resembling two serpentine figures slowly separating and advancing!
"This movement technique is... 'Manbu'!" Taohua instantly recognized it.
Before she could fully comprehend what was happening, the young man's longsword flew through the air like a shooting star piercing the moon. A brilliant light illuminated the surroundings for a brief moment, and Pulse Energy flickered past. As the radiance quickly dimmed, Taohua saw that the two Banded Octopuses had already fallen.
The Black-Haired Youth had vanished without a trace. Taohua even looked around but found no sign of him, leading her to form an initial guess about his identity.
"Could he be...?" she murmured to herself before hastily shaking her head to dispel her thoughts. She quickly returned to her post, directing the remaining warriors to rapidly rebuild their defensive line.
After enduring a fierce defensive battle at first, the fighting strength on the Ferry had diminished by sixty percent. The attacks from Huan Gu Hai Mu She were being dealt with by Da Gang and several other Second Lieutenants.
In the distance, the captain's fierce battle with the Ringed Sea Mother Three-Headed Serpent was what worried her the most!
On the left side of the Ancient Warship, far from Syle, a storm loomed over the Sea Surface, with flashes of lightning illuminating the ongoing struggle from time to time.
The captain, wielding a long-handled Battle Axe, was drenched in rain, which splashed around him in misty sprays. Yet, it could not extinguish the faint glow of Pulse Energy that enveloped him.
With each swing of the Long Axe, an explosive sound akin to thunder erupted, sending shockwaves that rippled through the air and crashed down onto the Ferry. Even the sea itself was stirred into violent waves.
If one were to look closely, they would discover that their battleground was truly a chaotic display of Pulse Energy. The Sea Surface had risen with Ocean Monsters; lower-tier Sea Beasts were instantly obliterated by the Pulse Energy Storm unleashed by this clash between man and beast.
The Three-Headed Sea Serpent bore visible wounds on each of its Snake Heads and its heavily armored serpentine body. Nevertheless, it continued to fight fiercely against the human wielding the Long Axe before it.
Suspended in mid-air, the captain's Pulse Energy flickered in and out. His clothes were soaked with blood, and more alarmingly, a wound on his abdomen was pierced by two scales shot from the Three-Headed Sea Serpent.
He closed his eyes to assess his injuries, then reached down to pull out the scales. The spurting blood made him flinch; before he could even break into a cold sweat, rainwater washed it away. He quickly channeled his Pulse Energy to freeze and seal off the nerves around the wound. The muscles instantly constricted around the gaping injury.
After completing this, his face turned pale, and the once faint glow of Pulse Energy around him dimmed and flickered.
Sensing that this human had weakened compared to before, the Three-Headed Sea Serpent opened its massive jaws wide and lunged at him. It felt like an enormous energy mountain rushing forward. The captain dared not slacken his efforts; he summoned all his remaining Pulse Energy. Suddenly, his aura blazed brightly as he swung his Long Axe in a sweeping arc that struck one of the serpent's heads with a resounding bang!
The resulting shockwave exploded outward like a hurricane force six, crashing against everything around them.
The energy barrier behind the captain shattered instantly under the impact, sending torrents of seawater crashing toward the Ferry. The vessel was nearly capsized as he fell onto it like a cannonball. Just as it seemed about to tip over, he stomped his foot, unleashing a surge of Pulse Energy that rippled outward like golden waves.
The Ferry stabilized in an instant amidst the turbulent waters, regaining its balance. However, many crew members still fell into the sea, screaming in terror.
The Three-Headed Sea Serpent roared as it surged forward, the churning sea spraying water everywhere. The waves crashed violently, and the captain was once again thrown back. The Long Axe unleashed a wave of energy, slicing through the tide, but the relentless assault of the Three-Headed Sea Serpent continued unabated.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The air was filled with explosive sounds reminiscent of thunder, as waves and rain were sent flying, even momentarily halting the downpour.
The captain was hurled back onto the Ferry, his life hanging in the balance.
"Damn it! You beast, take this!"
Da Gang rushed onto the deck, shouldering a massive energy Rocket Launcher. Bang!
A beam of light, bright as the sun, shot towards the distant Three-Headed Sea Serpent. Boom!
The explosion sent several soldiers on the deck tumbling. Was the Three-Headed Sea Serpent dead? That was the question on their minds as they fell.
Hiss!
The Three-Headed Sea Serpent let out another demonic roar.
Da Gang discarded the Energy Cannon in his hands, realizing that this opponent was not easily defeated. He quickly grabbed the nearby Huo Xiao Machine Gun.
"Come on, take this from your grandpa!"
He roared as he pulled the trigger, and the Huo Xiao Machine Gun unleashed a barrage of Energy Bullets like a ferocious roar. The bullets struck the body of the Three-Headed Sea Serpent with explosive force, creating a shower of sparks. For a brief moment, they seemed to suppress it, but then the serpent's tail swept through the air, sending a wave towering four to five meters high crashing towards the Ferry!
Even the strongest firepower was interrupted, and the bullets, set against the waves, greatly reduced resistance. The tail of the Three-Headed Sea Serpent swept through with a thunderous crash, and the Ferry was violently struck, suffering severe damage!
Everyone on board was thrown into chaos by the violent impact, hurled against the deck or the ship itself. Many were caught off guard and fell into the sea.
Da Gang struggled to rise, quickly grabbing his Huo Xiao and firing again with a series of loud bangs.
But a massive energy missile shot in from a distance, engulfing Da Gang’s newly stabilized form in a blinding light that flattened him. The brilliance surged past, destroying the surrounding deck and sending waves crashing far away.
Peach Blossom watched in horror as Da Gang was left standing with only half of his body remaining on the deck, while the Machine Gun in his hands was reduced to just half its barrel.
“Da Gang!!!” Peach Blossom cried out in anguish as she leaped off the deck, but when she landed, she stood there at a loss.
Roar!
The Three-Headed Sea Serpent unleashed its fury and pride from moments before.
“Beast!”
Peach Blossom drew her longsword and stepped onto the railing, ready to charge forward, but someone pressed down on her shoulder.
Turning around, she saw it was the captain.
The captain’s right hand was missing, and there was a horrifying wound on his right side. Yet he had managed to seal the wound with Pulse Energy. In his left hand, he still held the Long Axe from the Southern Expeditions and Northern Campaigns.
At that moment, gunfire erupted from the upper deck as a Sniper Rifle fired with a sharp crack!
A brownish light burst through the curtain of rain in the night sky, striking the Three-Headed Sea Serpent squarely on the head with a loud bang!
After being hit, the Three-Headed Sea Serpent thrashed in anger, causing waves to rise and dark currents to churn, as if the sea itself were about to turn upside down.
"Hmm?" The captain was slightly taken aback.
Tao Hua also looked up at the shooter, who was none other than Lu Fei Fan, though this time she was somewhat surprised.
"Hmm? Is he using... your Fire Spider?" The captain asked, momentarily stunned.
It was only then that Tao Hua noticed this detail.
Because Hua Er was lying on top, the sniper rifle in Lu Fei Fan's hands was not the Red Wolf series sniper rifle he had used before, but rather Tao Hua's own earlier model. Unlike the Red Wolf series, the two rifles were entirely different in style. One leaned towards a modern streamlined design, emphasizing uniformity and aesthetics; although it was known to be a budget model, it at least looked pleasing.
In contrast, the sniper rifle assigned to Tao Hua had a design style that starkly diverged from the Red Wolf series. Many in the Free Federation military jokingly referred to it as the "Fire Tube."
Most importantly, while the Red Wolf series loaded physical Energy Bullets, the Fire Spider operated differently. It relied on the shooter's own Pulse Energy to charge within the gun, forming Energy Bullets!
Of course, continuously consuming Pulse Energy from a Fuser in prolonged battles was quite impractical. Therefore, this specially designed Energy Gun could also load Energy Bullet magazines for use.
Before the captain could finish speaking, Lu Fei Fan fired again!
Bang!
The entire deck shook this time!
The power of the gun was even greater than before; the Energy Bullet was no longer the brownish color shot out by the Fire Spider, but a purer golden hue!
The Energy Bullet pierced through the dark rainy night once again, striking heavily against the distant Ringed Sea Mother Three-Headed Serpent, erupting in a terrifying explosion of light.
The Three-Headed Sea Serpent roared and lunged toward them once more.
The captain could no longer contain himself and charged forward again with his axe. The Long Axe, infused with immense energy, swung down with a thunderous sound, causing another explosive shockwave that sent ripples through the air and overturned the rain-soaked waves.
The captain landed back on the Ferry, while the Three-Headed Sea Serpent retreated slightly, looking helplessly at the Ferry.
But then something unexpected happened.
Bang!
Lu Fei Fan fired again!
