The hero quickly chose to start the game, as there were still many people waiting outside. A number of them were eager to take down the ‘Infatuated Duo’ to rise in rank, while others came simply for friendly competition, and some just to join the excitement. 0

Moreover, the number of battle requests was increasing rapidly, creating an unstoppable momentum. Since Lu Fei Fan was not the room owner, he could not see the overwhelming number of requests. 0

A flash of light passed, and the two appeared in a warehouse. Lu Fei Fan glanced at the game currency in the upper left corner, contemplating what strategy to choose, as it seemed their opponents had two snipers and one assault player. 0

“Flower, there are two snipers on the other side, and their levels seem to be higher than ours,” the hero said meaningfully. 0

“Uh-huh.” Lu Fei Fan, who was busy considering what equipment to buy, responded habitually. 0

“Then let’s play a sniper duel with them!” The hero boldly declared. 0

“Huh?” Lu Fei Fan finally reacted. “A sniper duel? What about their assault player if they rush us?” 0

Before Lu Fei Fan could finish his objection, he saw his currency in the upper left corner rapidly decrease. Suddenly, a heavy Sniper Rifle ‘Tan Lang’ appeared in his hands. Initially surprised by the appearance of the Sniper Rifle, he realized that he had been forced into buying a weapon by this insane AI hero. 0

Fortunately, it wasn’t just a Hand Cannon or something similar. Looking at the familiar Sniper Rifle, he felt a surge of excitement. However, that wasn’t the key issue; what really mattered was when Lu Fei Fan noticed the number of bullets in the magazine—his expression instantly fell. 0

“Hero, did you mess up? Why do I only have four bullets!?” 0

“Oh, right.” The hero immediately chimed in. 0

Ding! 0

The Data Analysis System emitted a crisp sound as the bullet count changed from ‘4’ to ‘0’! 0

“Damn!” Lu Fei Fan felt like he had been played for a fool. This guy was definitely messing with him! Anger surged within him; he wanted to take out his frustration on this unreliable teammate! 0

Lu Fei Fan raised his Sniper Rifle and scanned the surroundings but found no sign of their opponents. They probably hid away long ago. 0

"Hero, get out here or I'll take you down," Lu Fei Fan said as he chambered a round in his Sniper Rifle. 0

"Flower, you and I are teammates; pointing your gun at me is just hurting our camaraderie," came the calm reply from a figure lounging on the rooftop of a nearby building, casually polishing his nails. Who else could it be but the Hero? Beside him lay a Sniper Rifle that looked significantly more advanced than the one in Lu Fei Fan's hands. 0

"Fine, considering all the times we've fought together, I'll temporarily forgive you physically," the Hero said nonchalantly. 0

"You don't have a physical body! Hurry up and reload my ammo; they're about to come for us. Otherwise, I..." Lu Fei Fan struggled to think of a way to deal with this rogue Intelligent and could only hold his ground verbally. 0

"Forgiven physically, but there will still be some mental punishment," the Hero continued to focus on his nails before snapping his fingers. 0

Suddenly, the number of bullets in someone's magazine began to fluctuate wildly, eventually settling on a number that was still decreasing! 0

Watching helplessly as his meager three bullets dwindled down to two, a loud roar erupted from somewhere in the Virtual Battlefield. 0

"Hero, you scoundrel! You son of a—" 0

The Hero chose to ignore the various crude insults hurled at him by Lu Fei Fan. Meanwhile, those watching from the observation room noticed that the battle had yet to commence. Of course, they couldn't hear the argument between the Hero and Lu Fei Fan because he had completely muted their conversation. 0

While cursing under his breath, Lu Fei Fan cautiously made his way out of the spawn building and climbed onto another structure. The scene before him opened up; he could see the chaotic and dilapidated buildings scattered across what was clearly an abandoned city. 0

Setting up his Sniper Rifle at a broken gap in one of the ruins, he scanned through the scope. Apart from some rustling leaves in the wind, there was no movement. Clearly, the enemy was hiding as well, which made things a bit tricky. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan remained patient; just as he didn’t know where they were positioned, they certainly didn’t know his location either. It was now a test of endurance. 0

Sure enough, after about ten minutes, movement stirred in the crumbling streets below. An armed assault soldier began to creep through one of the buildings nearby, evidently searching for Lu Fei Fan and the Hero's positions. Behind him were likely two snipers waiting for him to reveal himself with a shot. 0

But with only two bullets left, if he took out that soldier below, he'd be left with just one bullet against two enemy snipers. This... damn Hero! 0

Just as he finished cursing silently, static crackled through the Data Analysis System's communication channel. 0

“Zzz—” 0

“Hey, hey, hey, Huahua, your position is right in their sniper range. They’re using the ‘Thunder Leopard’ Sniper Rifle with a 1500-meter range, while your ‘Tan Lang’ only has an 800-meter range. You’re going to be outmatched,” the annoying voice of Hero made Lu Fei Fan want to punch him even more. 0

Lu Fei Fan chose to ignore him, pretending he hadn’t heard anything, but the rogue Intelligent clearly wasn’t planning to let him off that easily. 0

“I actually have a plan. Do you want to hear it?” 0

“Hey, at least respond! You get angry just because I fired a few shots at you? What if you really only have two bullets left on the battlefield? How are you going to take out the enemy then?” 0

“How about this: you admit defeat and ask me for help. I’ll take out one for you. What do you say?” 0

Lu Fei Fan continued to ignore him, but Hero’s harassment tactics were clearly not going to stop. He buzzed around like a fly, and when he saw Lu Fei Fan not responding, he persisted with his verbal assault, trying to break down Lu Fei Fan’s psychological defenses. 0

But who was this rogue? In his past life, he was a soldier known for being a troublemaker; this little verbal harassment didn’t faze him at all. He simply put away his gun and turned to head downstairs. 0

On a rooftop somewhere, Hero sat with his legs crossed, endlessly crafting various lines of dialogue. He was excitedly chattering away, unaware that Lu Fei Fan had quietly slipped downstairs. 0

“Huahua, don’t be too stubborn; it’s not too late to ask me for help…” 0

Zzz— 0

Suddenly, there was a commotion on the channel. Hero paused for a moment and then turned up the volume as a melodious song filled the air. 0

“Ma Er Lang, carrying a backpack to school…” 0

Hero’s carefully prepared lines were completely derailed by this unexpected song, leaving him utterly uninterested. “Alright then, looks like someone has learned to find joy in hardship.” 0

Immediately after, the channel was filled with the sound of gunfire—bang bang bang bang— 0

Then the Data Analysis System announced: One enemy has been eliminated. 0

The hero quickly checked the details and found that Lu Fei Fan had gone downstairs, lurking around a street corner. When the enemy approached, he dragged them into a dead-end alley to engage in close combat. The enemy, in a state of panic, fired a few shots randomly. However, by the time they realized what was happening, Lu Fei Fan had already stabbed them multiple times with a dagger, the final blow striking directly at their throat, resulting in instant death. The Data Analysis System declared them dead and kicked them out of the room. 0

Lu Fei Fan seized a handgun from the fallen enemy, along with two smoke grenades and a flashbang. 0

He threw a few smoke grenades out into the alley, and as the smoke gradually dispersed, Lu Fei Fan deliberately waited a moment longer before stepping out. Using the cover of the smoke, he charged forward. 0

Whoosh! 0

A piercing sound sliced through the air, striking the ground not far from Lu Fei Fan. 0

Bang! 0

A bullet from a sniper rifle created a crater in the ground! 0

Boom! 0

The echo of the sniper rifle's shot followed shortly after. 0

Lu Fei Fan stared at the terrifying crater that was as wide as a bowl; it was shockingly realistic. If that had hit him, he would have been dead for sure. The level of simulation in this virtual game, Virtual Battlefield, was incredibly lifelike. 0

Moreover, the bullet arrived first, followed by the sound of the gunshot—there was a one-second delay between them. 0

Lu Fei Fan analyzed the bullet's trajectory and the sound of the gunfire, adjusting his speed as he moved closer along the street. Just moments ago, he had been within range of the enemy's sniper fire; that meant he was within fifteen hundred meters of Thunder Leopard's effective range. So he crept in to about three hundred meters. 0

Clang— 0

Another bullet struck a wall behind him. 0

The sound of gunfire echoed melodiously in the distance. 0

On two adjacent buildings, one on the left and one on the right, two snipers lay in wait, both armed with a series of Thunder Leopard Sniper Rifles. 0

Lu Fei Fan dashed forward with all his might, counting in his mind, "One, two, down!" 0

Bang! 0

He rolled on the ground as bullets struck the earth, sending sparks flying. 0

Then, in a flash, he sprang up and darted forward, "One, two, drop!" 0

Boom! 0

An advertisement board nearby was blown to pieces. 0

Those watching gasped in shock; some knowledgeable observers began to exclaim. 0

"Two point five seconds! He’s actually dodging in just two point five seconds!" 0

Everyone watched as Lu Fei Fan indeed dropped and executed erratic evasive maneuvers within that brief time frame. The snipers consistently hit around him, with the closest shot landing mere centimeters away. 0

Surprisingly, Lu Fei Fan's evasive actions became increasingly adept. Many spectators widened their eyes and dropped their jaws; if they were up against a sniper, they would likely be hit before even managing a single dodge. 0

Lu Fei Fan had lost count of how many times he had fallen or how many evasive maneuvers he had performed. He only remembered that he seemed to have advanced nearly a hundred meters. Based on the trajectory of the bullets, he estimated that the snipers were positioned about a thousand meters ahead in those two buildings. 0

However, there were four windows in those buildings, and he couldn't determine which one housed the enemy. To find out where they were located, he needed to dodge once more. Taking a deep breath, he sprang forward like a rabbit and dropped down near a dilapidated fountain at the intersection. Bang! Bang! 0

Two bullets came crashing down simultaneously. At that moment, Lu Fei Fan pivoted his body; instead of lying flat, he performed an unexpected maneuver—he raised his Sniper Rifle. 0

“Is he crazy? He’s holding a Tan Lang Sniper Rifle! How could he possibly shoot a thousand meters!” 0

Some in the crowd watching exclaimed, but most held their breath in anticipation. 0

Bang! 0

Lu Fei Fan's body jolted, and the dust around him was stirred up violently. 0

The bullet zipped through the air, crashing into a bright spot at one of the windows. 0

With a sharp crack, the Data Analysis System announced that Rascal had eliminated an enemy. 0

Lu Fei Fan quickly lowered his rifle and ducked down. A bullet struck the ground where he had just crouched, sending up a plume of steam. 0

He swiftly darted into a nearby building, finding a dark corner on the fourth floor with a window. With one last bullet left in the chamber, he peered through the scope at the two buildings a thousand meters away. Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared on one of the buildings; they had clearly spotted him. Without thinking twice, Lu Fei Fan aimed at that spot and pulled the trigger. 0

Bang! 0

Bang! 0

Two gunshots rang out, leaving everyone watching in shock. Who would emerge victorious from this nail-biting standoff? 0

After a long moment, the Data Analysis System notified everyone present. 0

“Congratulations to Infatuated Duo for winning.” 0

Lu Fei Fan lay on the ground, staring at a few drops of blood on his screen. After firing his shot, he had slightly shifted his position, and it was that very moment when an enemy bullet hit him. He narrowly survived. 0

Watching the final moments of the duel unfold, even the hero couldn’t believe it. “Tsk tsk tsk, he actually turned the tables on that rascal. What terrible luck!” He chuckled darkly to himself, likely plotting some underhanded scheme. It seemed Lu Fei Fan would inevitably find himself at the mercy of this Intelligent player in their next encounter in Virtual Battlefield. 0

The crowd watching the match erupted in excitement. 0

"That was incredible! From now on, ‘Rascal’ will be my idol!" 0

"How did ‘Tan Lang’ manage to kill an enemy from a thousand meters away with an eight-hundred-meter Sniper Rifle? That’s definitely a bug." 0

"This is called long-range sniping, you know? Get with it." 0

"There are people who can actually pull off such long-range shots in real life. This is the first time I've seen it in a game; it's insane." 0

"I'm glad I recorded this match. I bet it could sell for a good amount online." 0

Meanwhile, Lu Fei Fan didn’t hear any of this. The ‘Hero’ dragged him into a separate dark room and helped him analyze the mistakes he made while dodging, pointing out several areas where his movements were not standard and highlighting timing discrepancies. 0

Once that was done, Lu Fei Fan logged out of Virtual Battlefield, returning to the real world. 0

Because there was something even more important waiting for him to do. 0
