The hospital was still bustling at night, with nurses moving between the wards to change IV drips. Lu Fei Fan had sent his mother and younger brother home, choosing to stay behind to look after his father, who lay unconscious in the hospital bed. 0

This room was a private, high-end ward that Lu Fei Fan had reserved exclusively for his father. It was equipped with a separate bed, and there were dedicated nurses and doctors who would check on him regularly. Family members could rest on a sofa or a caregiver's bed without feeling cramped or suffocated like in the ordinary wards. 0

As he looked at his father lying quietly on the bed, wearing an oxygen mask with monitors for his heart rate and blood pressure, Lu Fei Fan recalled the times when his father would take him on mischievous escapades, teasing unsuspecting women. A smile crept onto his face as he remembered those childish antics filled with joy. 0

Gazing at his father's kind face, now etched with the marks of time, Lu Fei Fan clenched his fists. Ordinary people were powerless against serious illnesses, but no matter what, he had already resolved to help his father recover. 0

“Dad, just wait for me. I will definitely get ‘Jinwu Shengxue Wan’ to make you better!” Lu Fei Fan silently vowed. 0

As the night deepened and the routine IV drip for his father was completed, the nurses and doctors wouldn’t return until morning. Feeling bored and unable to sleep, Lu Fei Fan decided to sit on the adjacent bed and began practicing "Fu Mai Xi Shu." With the Fu Tong Kao approaching, he needed to focus on his training to achieve better results! 0

In the quiet ward, silence gradually enveloped him as he entered a meditative state. The rhythm of "Fu Mai Xi Shu" began its cyclical flow, gathering energy from awakened cells within him. This energy coursed through his body’s meridians in a cleansing cycle—over and over again—bringing him joy as he unexpectedly realized that a new batch of cells within him was on the brink of awakening. 0

Thus, he continued this cycle, using the circulating Pulse Energy to stimulate those cells as if they were being washed clean by waves crashing against rocks. The cells began to shine brilliantly from within, breaking free from their old layers and revealing a new form. Golden liquid-like energy overflowed from them. In an instant, as the energy from "Fu Mai Xi Shu" merged with these newly awakened cells—numbering in the tens of thousands—the technique entered an entirely new realm! 0

Lu Fei Fan felt like a naive fish lost in an endless sea, crashing through a thin veil into another world. 0

This world was completely constructed of darkness; however, all of his power surged toward a distant point in that darkness. They converged at one spot, igniting an energy node that resembled a dormant planet awakening in the Chaotic Universe. A faint star began to twinkle—a solitary light in the dark chaos—like a tiny star in the vast universe; insignificant yet bringing vitality and light to this previously lifeless unknown realm. 0

Lu Fei Fan gazed into this void, feeling as though he was immersed in boundless space. The entire process felt like he had personally ignited a faint star amidst countless others in the dark void. 0

What was happening? Lu Fei Fan had never encountered such a situation before, but he was certain that "Fu Mai Xi Shu" must have broken through its first layer for him to experience this. Moreover, this version of "Fu Mai Xi Shu" was clearly different from other military versions. 0

Perhaps it was because only he had such an experience; fate had favored him by allowing him to glimpse into this vast world of energy. 0

In this unfamiliar dark world, he felt incredibly small. 0

Currently, even pouring all his strength could only light up one star. Lu Fei Fan pushed himself further in his training. Before long, he managed to ignite three more stars in that dark chaos—just a few more points of light amidst the void. He suddenly thought: if instead of lighting up stars he could ignite a sun, it might illuminate a vast area and allow many stars to shine together. 0

Without overthinking it, Lu Fei Fan continued operating "Fu Mai Xi Shu," extracting cellular power for refinement before tossing it back into circulation for further purification until it reached its essence. He hoped this would activate another star in that darkness; however, the initial surge of power proved insufficient. Not feeling anxious, he began another round—second round, third round, fourth round… 0

He lost track of how many cycles he had completed but sensed that the energy generated by "Fu Mai Xi Shu" was accelerating significantly. When he finally lit up the second star's faint glow, he paused his training. 0

When he opened his eyes and glanced at the clock on the wall of the ward, it was just before five in the morning. Coincidentally, nurses were making their rounds with the on-duty doctor. After confirming that there were no changes with his father’s condition, Lu Fei Fan helped wipe down his father's body with water once more. With an hour left until seven o'clock and nothing else to do, he sat back on the empty bed and stared at his sleeping father in a daze. Suddenly, he remembered that it had been quite some time since he last connected to the Virtual Network. 0

He took out the Superbrain Device, powered it on, and placed it on his head, connecting to the Virtual Network. 0

At this moment, the virtual world was still blank. The passing vehicles, crowds, and towering skyscrapers under the bright sunlight appeared extremely unreal. However, as Lu Fei Fan observed those who were joyfully treating this as their real life, he realized that some people still lingered in the Virtual Network, perhaps lost in a dreamlike state, considering this place their true existence. 0

Lu Fei Fan was the first to contact the Hero, who surprisingly was in a meeting! He sent someone to pick him up. 0

This response left Lu Fei Fan a bit astonished. Shouldn't this guy be busy hacking into someone else's firewall and teaching software developers a lesson? Why was he in a meeting? Who could he possibly be meeting with? Perhaps a group of hackers? 0

Just thinking about how this rogue Intelligent AI had incited a whole bunch of hackers to attack some arms dealer's or military's firewall made Lu Fei Fan break into a cold sweat. 0

Before long, a stretched Lincoln pulled up to where Lu Fei Fan was standing. The door opened, and out stepped a woman in a professional suit wearing high heels, her figure swaying like a Water Snake Waist as she approached. 0

“Please get in, Mr. Hua. We are here to take you to your destination,” said the Female Public Relations officer with an elegant face and subtle makeup, her voice melodious. 0

Lu Fei Fan felt no resistance and climbed into the luxurious stretched Lincoln. The Female Public Relations officer gracefully sat across from him with her long legs crossed. As the car moved smoothly forward, she smiled and asked Lu Fei Fan if he wanted any drinks or if he felt tired. Lu Fei Fan responded casually to her questions. 0

After a while, the car stopped in front of a tall building that resembled one of those financial skyscrapers with forty or fifty floors. 0

The two of them took the elevator to the top floor and walked through an orderly office area. Lu Fei Fan was led into an office with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The Female Public Relations officer locked the door behind her and left discreetly. A man sat in an executive chair with his back to the entrance, discussing stock market trends over the phone. After a moment, he turned around; it was a handsome Young Master dressed in a tailored suit with slicked-back hair. 0

He removed his suit jacket, adjusted his slightly tight tie, and greeted Lu Fei Fan, “Ah, you’re here! What do you think of my look?” 0

Lu Fei Fan sized him up curiously and replied incredulously, “What’s this all about?” 0

The Hero smugly ruffled his stylish hair and said, “Well, I had to find something to pass the time. Since you rarely come on the Virtual Network to hang out with me, I decided to create my own virtual financial company for fun.” 0

“A financial company…” Lu Fei Fan sounded skeptical. 0

“Hmph! How can you doubt the wisdom of a noble AI? Not just any financial company; even an empire would be well-managed under my guidance,” he boasted as he walked over and threw an arm around Lu Fei Fan’s shoulders. 0

“Plus, money makes the world go round. Without money, you’re just pushing stones uphill. And I’ve discovered that being a successful person isn’t so bad; at least I have secretaries to flirt with. When I’m feeling down, I can always bring in some unfortunate souls from outside to vent my frustrations on. I can fly planes or sail yachts surrounded by bikini-clad beauties without a care in this world. Isn’t that extravagant?” 0

“It may be good,” Lu Fei Fan shook his head, “but this isn’t our reality. Our world is an endless ocean filled with monsters that can easily kill us. Some people hide behind safety zones and forget about the crises humanity faces.” 0

“From what I know, nearly ten million people are trapped in the virtual world of the Free Federation, unable to extricate themselves. They don’t even believe that the real and harsh world you speak of is real; they think this virtual world is the most authentic. Just look outside—skyscrapers, bustling traffic—there’s no hint of the cruelty and falsehood,” the Hero said, shrugging his shoulders. 0

Before Lu Fei Fan could respond, the once luxurious office with floor-to-ceiling windows transformed like ripples in water. Countless cubes rolled across the space, turning the entire environment into a blank, endless room, leaving only Lu Fei Fan and the Hero inside. The difference was that beneath the Hero was an elegant executive chair. 0

“You’ve fallen behind in your studies for a while,” the Hero said seriously, looking at Lu Fei Fan. 0

“I know, but I’ve made new progress in my Fu Mai Xi Shu,” Lu Fei Fan replied, recounting how he unintentionally entered the Dark Universe after his training. 0

After listening, the Hero stroked his chin and nodded thoughtfully. “It seems you inadvertently unlocked a certain opportunity within Fu Mai Xi Shu, opening up another realm for cultivation. However, to illuminate that universe, the level of cultivation and power required is daunting. Unless you possess a cellular Pulse Energy awakening akin to Whale Swallowing.” 0

The two then analyzed Fu Mai Xi Shu again but found nothing particularly special. After some discussion, they concluded that it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing; rather, it presented an opportunity for gradual cultivation. No one could predict how much they would grow in the end. 0

With more than a month until Fu Tong Kao, Lu Fei Fan and the Hero devised a training plan targeting Niu Dali and A Teng. Utilizing virtual time, Lu Fei Fan also caught up on various courses that the Hero had arranged for him during his absence. The Hero had already organized all the materials, so Lu Fei Fan could quickly browse through and comprehend them. 0

As for firearms, combat, and gunfights… Lu Fei Fan and the Hero ultimately decided that improving through practical experience would be more effective. They soon connected to the Virtual Battlefield game, where amidst the chaos of war, they could not only enhance their survival skills and combat knowledge regarding firearms but also develop remarkable battlefield awareness. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan did not expect that just as he was about to log into Virtual Battlefield during this almost bright moment, he would be nearly overwhelmed by a flood of game emails. 0
