The next day, after the doctor examined Lu Fei Fan's condition and found that he was mostly fine, he was escorted back to his cell by a few burly police officers. They threw him back into a solitary confinement cell.
Lu Fei Fan sat quietly on the bed, meditating. He lost track of time until he realized that nearly ten thousand cells had awakened within him. The surging Pulse Energy converged into a stream, flowing through the previously depleted cells, filling them one by one. The first layer of Fu Mai Xi Shu was essentially completed.
Just as he finished his cultivation, the iron door outside the cell creaked open, and two expressionless guards walked in. They approached Lu Fei Fan's bed.
"Hey, you! Get out here quickly; you're being released. Someone is waiting for you outside," one of the guards shouted at Lu Fei Fan.
Lu Fei Fan was taken aback. He could be released? It made sense; the previous agreement with Director Wan had granted him this opportunity, and now it seemed it was time for that promise to be fulfilled.
Not only Lu Fei Fan, but even the other inmates in the cell perked up at the guard's voice, peeking out to see what was happening. A few overly excited ones even shouted, "Hey, guard! Can I get out too?"
"Shut up and behave yourselves; this has nothing to do with you," the other guard said menacingly, tapping a baton against his palm. His gaze towards the inmates was extremely unfriendly. Anyone who dared to act out would not be spared.
Those who had wanted to shout fell silent, well aware that these guards were not known for their leniency. After all, they were all serious offenders locked away in this place and understood that they were dealing with hardened individuals.
Lu Fei Fan remained unfazed as he got up and looked around the simple cell. There wasn't much to pack except for the envelope given to him by One-armed, which he had kept on him even during his unconsciousness—luckily no one had taken it away.
Following the guards out of the cell, they shut the door behind them. The two guards led Lu Fei Fan through several winding corridors and past multiple doors until they reached a meeting area in the prison.
They unceremoniously dropped Lu Fei Fan off there and closed the door behind them. Confused, Lu Fei Fan wondered why he was brought here if he was supposed to be released.
"Are you Lu Fei Fan?" a clear and melodious voice called from behind him.
He turned around to see a tall and graceful young woman with an incredibly alluring figure. For a moment, he was captivated by her exquisite beauty—her face could only be described as that of a perfect Barbie doll. The young woman stood there munching on sunflower seeds without any semblance of decorum, her noble yet aloof demeanor combined with a vibrant youthful energy left Lu Fei Fan utterly stunned.
"Come here," she beckoned him with a wave of her hand. Almost in a daze, he walked over.
"Do we... know each other? Beautiful lady," Lu Fei Fan asked, unsure of who this stunning woman was. She squinted her eyes playfully while wearing an enchanting smile that hinted at mischief; it was enough to make Lu Fei Fan swallow hard.
"Of course! You may not know me, but I know you," she replied with an air of certainty, nodding her head as she scrutinized him like prey.
“Let me think,” Lu Fei Fan said, tossing his hair back. “It must be that I’m just too handsome, and it startled you into falling for me. Now you’re going through all this trouble to rescue me from prison so we can get married. Hmm, given the usual plot, that’s definitely how it is.”
“Tsk tsk tsk, how shameless,” the woman commented. “Just as it says in your file—starting at seven, you were already teasing respectable women and getting beaten up for it. By ten, you had turned into a thief who stole women’s underwear. Hmph, a rogue like you really ought to be taught a lesson.”
With that, she placed her hands on her hips and pouted at Lu Fei Fan, looking quite charming despite her anger, causing him to momentarily lose his train of thought.
“Well…” Lu Fei Fan felt a bit embarrassed; this girl seemed to know far too much about his glorious past. Could she really be the daughter of one of those women seeking revenge? No, he didn’t recall knowing any beautiful girl with such delicate features and fair skin.
“You’re not here to teach me a lesson, are you?” Lu Fei Fan decided to stop guessing and asked more seriously, genuinely curious about her identity.
The girl turned her head and called out to an elderly man standing silently by the wall.
“Wang Bo.”
The old man nodded and slowly walked over with the aid of a cane.
Lu Fei Fan realized that although the old man appeared frail and was relying heavily on his cane, he had managed to approach without Lu Fei Fan noticing. This indicated that the old man was not simple at all, which made Lu Fei Fan regard him with a bit of respect.
“Sister.”
Wang Bo handed the girl a file. She flipped through it until she found a contract and handed it to Lu Fei Fan.
“Sign this, and then you’ll be free,” she said with an air of superiority, clearly intending to have her way with him.
“First, within two years, you must become Su Su’s special guard. You will follow Su Su’s orders without question—no frowning even when facing danger or hardship. You must endure insults without retaliating; even going to the restroom or dating will require Su Su’s permission. You must always be ready for deployment… Second, you will undergo a physical examination immediately. Upon passing, report to Golden Snake Mercenaries and serve in that mercenary unit for five years…” Lu Fei Fan read aloud from the contract.
“Are you kidding? A slave contract? Why would I sign something like this?” Lu Fei Fan clearly wasn’t foolish enough to sell himself like some livestock.
“You can choose not to sign and stay in Black Iron Prison instead. I can have the Warden keep you locked up for ten or twenty years,” the beautiful woman said dismissively, her head turned away as if she had already won the argument, enhanced by her innocent beauty.
If she were an ordinary person, her trick would surely work every time. Unfortunately for her, she was up against a seasoned veteran, Lu Fei Fan.
"Well, you can keep me locked up. I won’t have to worry about food or clothing here; it’s quite nice," Lu Fei Fan said as he ripped the contract in half, whistling as he turned to leave.
"Huh?" Now it was the beautiful woman’s turn to be stunned. With one hand on her hip, she tossed aside the sunflower seeds in her other hand and pointed at Lu Fei Fan, a hint of anger in her voice. "Hmph! You dare not sign?"
Lu Fei Fan glanced back at her flustered expression and felt a surge of satisfaction.
"If you want me to sign, you’ll have to agree to my terms," Lu Fei Fan decided to take advantage of this girl; she seemed quite naive.
"Hmph! You wish! I won’t negotiate with a rogue!" She angrily withdrew her hand and continued to stand with her hands on her hips, looking as if she might explode from rage. No one had ever dared to defy her before.
"Alright then, it seems my good looks are affecting your judgment. I’ll just head back to my cell for a bit. When you come to your senses, let me know," Lu Fei Fan said nonchalantly as he turned back toward the door.
"Are you signing or not?"
"I can’t sign!"
"Really not signing?"
"Really can’t sign."
"Are you sure you really won’t sign?"
"Absolutely sure."
"Stop right there!"
Just as Lu Fei Fan was about to turn around, a sudden waft of fragrance hit him like a wave. A slender leg swept toward him, and in that moment when her skirt fluttered up, Lu Fei Fan—the rogue—forgot to dodge. Instead, he stood there, captivated by the view beneath the skirt. A swift kick landed squarely on him, sending Lu Fei Fan spinning through the air before crashing hard onto the ground with a thud.
As the furious beauty stood with her hands on her hips, one foot planted firmly on his chest, she looked down at the rogue lying on the ground. Lu Fei Fan was nearly dazed, his face swollen and two streams of blood trickling from his nose, mumbling something incoherently.
Su Su initially thought he was conceding, feeling pleased that there was no one she couldn't handle. However, to her surprise, it seemed that this fool from the Federation Academy was not repeating the words "I sign." Confident in her own strength and control, she knew that this level of attack shouldn't have rendered him an idiot. Yet, he continued to mumble several syllables. Curiosity piqued, she leaned closer to listen to the rogue's murmurs.
"Pink..." Lu Fei Fan lay on the ground, his voice unusually excited and twitching.
Upon hearing this, the beauty froze for a moment before suddenly recalling what she was wearing that day. Her face flushed with embarrassment, quickly followed by an explosion of cosmic rage. She unleashed a storm of kicks upon the hapless fool from the Federation Academy beneath her feet!
"Perverted scum! You rogue! Just wait until I stomp you to death!"
"Ah, no... stop... please... don’t... stop! Ah, don’t step on my face! Ahhh! My hairstyle..."
With a flurry of kicks and stomps, after several minutes of relentless punishment, Lu Fei Fan's face had swollen grotesquely. Only then did the furious beauty feel slightly appeased; she delivered one final kick that sent him flying like a scrambled egg, crashing to the ground. This time with more force, Lu Fei Fan fell unconscious, frothing at the mouth.
Once she finished venting her anger, she dusted off her hands. However, this did little to quell the fury simmering within her; he would have plenty of suffering ahead.
Afterward, Lu Fei Fan was temporarily thrown back into his cell by the irate beauty's orders. She returned to the VIP lounge assigned to her by Tao Shu—a luxurious resting place typically reserved for high-ranking officials. Yet this lady had no interest in admiring the room's decor and even smashed several antique vases in her frustration.
Wang Bo had been following closely behind. It was rare for him to see this lady so angry—especially to such an extent. He recalled how that young man had dared to flirt with her right in front of him. Why was it that he felt no anger at all?
Usually, when he saw those spoiled brats trying to take advantage of her, he would stomp his feet in anger, scaring them into submission. But now he found that shameless rogue oddly pleasing—perhaps because he reminded him of himself back in the day?
Bang!
Unable to contain herself any longer, she smashed another decorative plate onto the floor. She intended to continue her rampage but found that most of the breakable items on the table had already met their fate under her wrath. With nothing left to destroy, she stood with her hands on her hips amidst the shards of broken pottery, still fuming.
"Hmph! This is infuriating! That filthy rogue from the Federation Academy dared to take advantage of me—how despicable!" She pouted and repeated this sentiment over and over again; within just half an hour, she must have said it hundreds of times.
"Sister, how about I..." Wang Bo began to suggest torturing that scoundrel until he submitted; after all, few could withstand even two minutes under his methods.
"No way, I have to deal with him myself this time. Otherwise, I'll lose the bet with my cousin, and I definitely don't want to date that second young master from the Li Family! He's even more annoying than that perverted scoundrel!" Su Su exclaimed angrily.
Wang Bo didn't say much and simply went along with her.
Before long, Tao Shu entered with Liu Chengshu. He had heard something break in the room and came to check on what was happening with the Su Family Eldest Sister.
"This..." Tao Shu looked at the shattered porcelain scattered all over the room, momentarily at a loss for words. He felt a pang of regret; he should have known better than to let her stay in this room. Although the porcelain wasn't particularly expensive, it was still worth a fair amount and suitable for display. Now, it had all been smashed by her, and he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loss.
After asking around, he learned that it was because Lu Fei Fan had teased her. Thus, Tao Shu, the Warden, silently added this debt to Lu Fei Fan's account. He joined forces with Su Su to curse Lu Fei Fan together, exchanging words in perfect sync, which made Su Su laugh so hard she nearly lost her balance.
Feeling much better, she decided to outsmart that scoundrel tomorrow.
"Since he won't respond to force, I'll try a softer approach. Hmph, I refuse to believe I can't handle him," she declared confidently. Then she half-jokingly muttered to herself, "Should I try seduction?"
Wang Bo's eyelids twitched at her words, but he pretended not to hear.
Seeing that Wang Bo wasn't falling for her trick, Su Su snorted and turned away, humming an unknown tune to herself. However, the lyrics were hardly something one could praise...
"Riding a sheep, letting wolves go, singing mountain songs while being a rogue, pretending to be a pig while plotting against a tiger, dressing up in a suit to solicit..."
