In the quiet cell, only the occasional scurrying of mice could be heard, but it did nothing to disrupt Lu Fei Fan's rhythm of cultivation. 0

At this moment, he sat cross-legged, absorbing the Cell Gene Solution, which had already been over ninety percent absorbed by his extraordinary cells. The new cells felt as if they had been freshly painted, significantly stronger than before. However, for the vast expanse of desiccated cell surfaces, the Cell Gene Solution was simply insufficient to nourish his entire body. 0

To investigate the condition of his cells, he extracted a strand of white energy from thousands of infused cells and began to control it as it flowed through his bloodstream. This allowed him to observe the state of his cells. Unexpectedly, while navigating through his head, he discovered a Light Source emitting an astonishing amount of energy and heat above him. Lu Fei Fan attempted to approach it but found that the intensity of the Light Source was akin to standing under a blazing sun; the energy from his cells could not reach it. However, the power radiating from it intertwined like meridians around his brain's nerves. 0

Could this powerful Light Source be... transforming his brain cells as well? 0

For now, he set that thought aside and continued to explore his body. He realized that the degree of desiccation was far greater than he had imagined. Hundreds of millions of cells resembled vast fields with cracked surfaces exposed by drought. How much water would it take to irrigate such an expansive land? 0

Surely, only an ocean could provide that kind of irrigation. 0

But if he could cultivate Pulse Energy to be as boundless as an ocean, then he would surely reach the pinnacle of strength. 0

To have an ocean, one must first gather rivers that flow into it. Rivers are composed of countless small streams, which in turn come from bubbling springs and even insignificant dewdrops. 0

At this moment, Lu Fei Fan's level of Pulse Energy was likely not even sufficient to reach the level of dew. Thus, he continued the arduous task of refining and purifying those dormant cells, transforming and regenerating them into Pulse Energy, much like forging a spring. 0

If someone were to check on Lu Fei Fan's cell, they would notice that a part of his body emitted a faint glow while he meditated—flickering and elusive, hardly noticeable. 0

In this manner, Lu Fei Fan practiced diligently throughout the night until the iron door of his cell swung open and he finally opened his eyes. 0

The newcomer was Lao Liu, who tossed in a set of combat pants and a vest typically worn by soldiers. 0

"Change out of your prison uniform." 0

Lu Fei Fan stood up with a pat on his backside and picked up the clothes to sniff them. A foul odor nearly made him retch from last night's leftover meal. 0

"This... these clothes smell terrible." 0

Lu Fei Fan pinched his nose and glanced at Lao Liu. 0

“There's no choice; either wear it or go out naked,” Lao Liu stated firmly, leaving no room for negotiation. 0

A true hero does not suffer immediate losses, and Lu Fei Fan, unwilling to argue further, bore the foul smell and reluctantly put on the outfit. However, as he followed Lao Liu out of the cell, he felt like a monkey infested with lice, scratching incessantly all over. Even Lao Liu, watching him, felt a bit itchy himself. Finally unable to tolerate it any longer, he sent someone to fetch another set of clothes for Lu Fei Fan, which made him feel somewhat more comfortable. 0

Lu Fei Fan was led into the prison and arrived at an underground hall. 0

The underground hall was circular, covering at least a thousand square feet, divided into two levels. In the center stood a platform resembling a boxing ring, surrounded by spectator seats. The upper level contained private booths fitted with special soundproof glass; while the outside view was obscured, those inside could see the platform below. These booths were likely reserved for the Big Shots. 0

Many spectators had already taken their seats around the platform, including a dozen fully armed soldiers carrying real guns loaded with ammunition; they wielded energy machine guns from the Free Federation. Lu Fei Fan even noticed two guards at the entrance wearing energy combat armor, indicating that security here was taken very seriously. 0

Following Lao Liu through a corridor to the left side, Lu Fei Fan spotted an upright Intelligent Virtual Pod on one side and another on the opposite side. He glanced across to see heavily armed guards preparing a muscular man with bare shoulders and numerous scars on his body. The man shot Lu Fei Fan a cold smile before stepping into the Virtual Intelligence Pod. 0

“Do you know how to use this thing?” Lao Liu asked Lu Fei Fan. 0

Lu Fei Fan was well aware of how to operate the Virtual Intelligence Pod; such devices were only found in high-end virtual internet cafes and were quite expensive, offering top-notch virtual experiences. 0

He climbed into the pod and donned the suit that hung in mid-air, connected by countless wires and crystal tubes. It was surprisingly light and comfortable. Then he put on the most crucial virtual connection helmet. 0

As the pod door closed, a large volume of liquid poured in. Lu Fei Fan felt like a floating puppet adjusting to the liquid; however, there was no pressure from it. Instead, numerous energy lines began transmitting data through the suit's tubing. The world before him started to shift into a hyper-realistic scene—right in front of him was the Fighting Platform where a Fighter stood, clearly the muscular man who had just entered. 0

“Get up here and die! Rookie, I have over one hundred thirty ways to kill you! Hahaha!” The opponent boasted arrogantly while cracking his knuckles. 0

Lu Fei Fan walked slowly towards the platform and climbed up. 0

Unbeknownst to him, the images simulated by both Intelligent Virtual Pods were projected onto the real platform. Whether in the private booths on the second floor or among the packed audience on the first floor, everyone could see lifelike representations of characters engaged in combat simulations. 0

In a private room on the second floor, Director Wan sat with the newly wealthy Zhu Qianba and Hamed. 0

"I hear Director Wan has found a newcomer?" Zhu Qianba joked as he peeled the crystal grapes on the table. 0

"Yes," Director Wan replied, squinting his eyes without fully opening them, seemingly assessing the situation in the adjacent rooms. 0

In those rooms, several prominent figures were seated. One room was filled with a few dancers entertaining a group of overweight men with slicked-back hair, who were interacting enthusiastically with the dancers. They were adorned in gold and silver, clearly a bunch of nouveau riche. 0

Next door, a group of middle-aged men dressed in suits were shrouded in mist, drinking and chatting. Each of them was accompanied by well-trained bodyguards; this group was from the Military Headquarters. 0

There were also a few other rooms occupied by genteel individuals, both men and women, sipping high-end drinks and indulging in exquisite desserts. However, all expenses here were out-of-pocket, which still provided some profit for the hosting party, Black Iron Prison, although they still had to pay taxes to the Free Federation. 0

"Ahem." At that moment, a host stepped onto the stage. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Black Iron Underground Fighting Arena. Today marks our quarterly underground fighting competition. In addition to Virtual Combat, we will also introduce real combat this time. The minimum bet starts at twenty thousand, with no upper limit." 0

Lu Fei Fan could certainly hear this announcement. Although he was immersed in a virtual environment, the host's voice clearly penetrated his Intelligent Pod. Moreover, it had already been optimized twice by Hero due to its outdated data analysis system. As a high-level Intelligent Pod, it couldn't stand how poor and old it was and immediately began upgrading various software for Lu Fei Fan's Intelligent Virtual Pod. It had intended to continue optimizing further until Lu Fei Fan finally put a stop to it. 0

"The match is about to begin; the first round features Fighter One against Fighter Two," the host announced. Various virtual screens appeared before each private room displaying the two opponents. Lu Fei Fan was Fighter One, while the braggart claiming to have over a hundred ways to defeat him was Fighter Three. 0

As soon as the announcement finished, two referees appointed by a third party stepped onto the stage and made a starting gesture. The two Virtual Intelligence Pods initiated high-speed energy connections, synchronizing their Virtual Warriors as they entered the arena simultaneously. 0

"Die!" roared his opponent as he launched the first attack. 0

Lu Fei Fan calmly assessed his adversary. The opponent was larger and stronger than him; at that moment, his synchronized Virtual Warrior towered slightly over Lu Fei Fan's avatar. He charged at Lu Fei Fan like a brown bear. 0

Lu Fei Fan nimbly dodged and kicked at his exposed ribs, but surprisingly, his opponent managed to pivot mid-lunge and caught Lu Fei Fan's kicking foot with one hand, throwing his Virtual Warrior aside effortlessly. 0

That reaction speed... Before Lu Fei Fan could get back up, he sensed something amiss and quickly rolled away just as a massive shadow crashed down where he had been standing. Regaining control of his Virtual Warrior swiftly, he continued to evade attacks, though it seemed he was somewhat on the defensive and in an awkward position. 0

“Tut, tut, tut, this... looks like we're at a disadvantage no matter how you look at it,” Zhu Qianba frowned. 0

After a while, the door to the private room opened, and the host came in with a stack of documents, handing one to Zhu Qianba. Zhu Qianba gestured for a subordinate to take a look. 0

“This number three is a wrestler picked by White Shark Prison. It seems Lao Fu is really aiming to win against us this time.” 0

With that, he passed the documents to Wan Director. Wan Director glanced at them and then looked at the somewhat dispirited situation below, furrowing his brow. He then handed the remaining documents to Lao Liu, who was standing behind him. 0

“Lao Liu, you’ll be the last to go on,” Wan Director instructed. “We cannot afford to lose this time; Warden has brought another important person to watch.” 0

Lao Liu nodded, took the documents, and carefully reviewed all the opponents' information. This information had been acquired through special channels by the host and detailed their opponents' strengths in grappling techniques, combat skills, and physical fitness. For them, this was quite useful; however, Lu Fei Fan would be the first to compete and wouldn't have access to this information. 0

He could only explore ways to counter during the match. It seemed he was busy and exhausted trying to cope, but in reality, under the guidance of ‘Hero,’ Lu Fei Fan was honing his evasion skills. Each time he pretended to be nearly caught by his opponent, they would always miss by half a second or a second. The situation still appeared disadvantageous for Lu Fei Fan, but he didn’t find his opponent difficult to handle. Against such wrestling-type enemies, there were several effective strategies: either use their momentum against them before they got too close or break through with force when they did come near. This required specific combat techniques. 0

In just a few moments of dodging, Lu Fei Fan had already devised a plan to counterattack. After maintaining a state of evasive maneuvers for half a minute in the first round, amidst boos from the audience and as it seemed the referee and host could no longer control the situation, Lu Fei Fan finally decided enough was enough. 0

As his opponent charged in with a bull-like wrestling move, Lu Fei Fan unexpectedly did not dodge this time; instead, he rooted himself firmly in place and met the charge head-on! 0

Bang! 0

The two collided fiercely, but Lu Fei Fan’s terrifying strength astonishingly sent his opponent’s robust body flying! 0

Gasps filled the audience. 0

The referee watching from ringside and Lao Liu and Wan Director in the private room were both taken aback by this move. 0

“Tie Shan Kao!” Lao Liu exclaimed in disbelief. 0

In the blink of an eye, Lu Fei Fan seized the moment when his opponent was momentarily weightless and launched a rapid series of attacks! 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

Three punches were thrown so quickly that they were almost a blur to the naked eye. The Virtual Warrior was sent flying, crashing to the ground, unable to rise again. The Data Analysis System quickly determined that it had lost its combat capability. 0

A furious roar erupted from the Virtual Pod as the retreating Cultivation Fluid revealed a figure unwilling to accept defeat. The person crawled out of the Virtual Pod just as Lu Fei Fan emerged as well. With a venomous glare directed at Lu Fei Fan, the opponent turned and walked away. 0

Lu Fei Fan was treated as if nothing had happened and was escorted to the rest area. There, he found several other competitors who appeared equally formidable. 0

"That kid's Tie Shan Kao was quite impressive..." Director Wan remarked, stroking his chin in surprise. 0

Tie Shan Kao was a close-combat technique that involved using one's shoulder to push an opponent away, unleashing explosive power that caught the enemy off guard and caused them to lose their balance, paving the way for further attacks. 0

"It looks more like a military style," Lao Liu added from behind. 0

"Oh well, who cares about styles? We’ve secured a win; that's what matters. Hehe," Zhu Qianba said, rubbing his chubby hands together, seemingly envisioning a flood of cash rolling in. 0
