The events trace back to a while ago when the rain had eased. A prison guard discovered a body lying in the rainwater. Consequently, all the prisoners outside, including Lu Fei Fan, were suspected of murder and were collectively confined in the prison's isolation cell, many of them lamenting their misfortune. 0

The environment here was foul and dimly lit; being trapped in such conditions for an extended period could drive anyone insane. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan found a corner to sit and began to reflect on the recent combat experience using his Consciousness. He realized there were numerous flaws and started to understand his shortcomings. He silently resolved to diligently cultivate his Pulse Energy and Military Combat Technique. He could not afford to die here, especially since his father was still lying unconscious in the hospital, waiting for him to obtain the Jinwu Holy Blood Pill to restore his health! 0

Meanwhile, in an autopsy room of Black Iron Prison, someone was examining the body. 0

If Lu Fei Fan had been present, he would have recognized it as that of the middle-aged police officer who had interrogated him, along with another female officer. However, this time there was an imposing figure standing beside them—a man with a square jaw named Zhong Nian. He wore a black military shirt adorned with the Black Iron Prison guard insignia and camouflage pants paired with military boots. Standing next to him was a well-dressed man in his forties wearing gold-rimmed glasses, who stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the police conduct the autopsy with a serious expression. 0

The middle-aged police officer circled around the body laid on the table, observing it closely while occasionally flipping it over with gloved hands. 0

“Lao Lu, you don’t need to look any further; I examined the body before you arrived,” Zhong Nian said, still with his arms crossed. 0

“Oh? Go ahead,” the middle-aged police officer paused, waiting for this prison guard's input. 0

“From the exterior, there are no visible injuries, but several of his ribs, throat, and even pressure points have been struck, causing internal blood vessels to rupture and severe damage leading to death,” Zhong Nian stated nonchalantly. 0

The middle-aged police officer nodded and gestured for the young female officer nearby to take notes before turning back to ask, “Old Comrade, what’s your assessment?” 0

“Hmph, what else can I say?” he chuckled lightly. “The opponent likely used the most common combat techniques from the military!” 0

“I thought you Lao Liu had grown old,” the middle-aged police officer remarked as he removed his gloves and tossed them onto the table with a sigh. “The deceased must have fought someone; he likely had some martial arts training.” 0

“This man is named Xiao Kun, nicknamed ‘Sang Kun.’ He was a professional soldier discharged from the military due to murder charges,” said the bespectacled man who had remained silent until now. He was Liu Chengshu, secretary to the Warden, assigned to assist Lao Liu in investigating this matter. 0

“Tsk tsk tsk. Fighting in the rain while both parties used standard Military Combat Techniques—what a shame we didn’t witness it,” the middle-aged police officer mused as he walked around the body, stroking his chin. “Lao Liu, if we were ten or twenty years younger, we might have wanted to confront this fellow who killed him. It seems this fellow died without injustice; his opponent was quite skilled.” 0

Lao Liu smiled and said, "From what I can see, the fighting techniques are still a bit inexperienced, but the strikes are precise and incredibly fast. They must have just started practicing not long ago, but they show great talent; they’re likely not an ordinary person." 0

"You mean..." The middle-aged police officer furrowed his brow, looking somewhat worried. 0

Lao Liu nodded and speculated, "It’s highly possible that they have cultivated Pulse Energy as a 'Fuser'!" 0

Hiss— 0

The middle-aged police officer inhaled sharply, while the young female officer also frowned slightly, jotting down notes. 0

"What does the Warden think?" Lao Lu asked Liu Chengshu, hands clasped behind his back. Although he was a police officer, this incident occurred in a prison, so it was necessary to consult the Warden's opinion. 0

"The Warden's stance is 'one less is one less.' As for whether you want to investigate the suspect, that's up to you; those prisoners are still locked up in solitary confinement anyway," Liu Chengshu replied nonchalantly. 0

"Fine. In that case, I can't be bothered to investigate either. Lao Liu, you handle it," Lao Lu said dismissively, passing the troublesome situation to his former comrade-in-arms, Lao Liu. After all, he was now a captain overseeing hundreds of prison guards and had likely encountered similar situations numerous times. 0

Lao Liu remained silent, presumably pondering how to draw out more information from the suspect. 0

"Is there anything else?" Lao Lu turned to ask the young female officer. 0

"Captain, about that young man from last time..." the young female officer reminded him. 0

"Oh right! You mentioned there was a young man named Lu Fei Fan who got into a fight and was locked up here. We investigated thoroughly; it should be self-defense." 0

"Oh? What a coincidence; he’s among this round of suspects," Liu Chengshu said as he picked up a roster and pointed to the name for Lao Lu to see. 0

For a moment, everyone exchanged glances. 0

"Alright, I will report this to the Warden. I’ll leave the matter regarding the Warden to you," Lao Liu said to Liu Chengshu. 0

Liu Chengshu nodded and then left. 0

Lao Liu chatted briefly with a police officer named Lao Lu before they both exited the autopsy room. Soon after, they parted ways. Chief Prison Guard Lao Liu walked through several corridors and emerged outside the prison. He crossed a tree-lined path and arrived at a unique building. This structure was quite different from the dark and chaotic style of the prison; it was comfortable, clean, and even quite upscale. This was the administrative building for managing the Black Iron Prison, housing the offices of the Warden and other management personnel. 0

Lao Liu ascended to the second floor and approached an office door. He straightened his clothes and knocked before clearing his throat and calling out, "Reporting in." 0

"Come in," came a voice from inside. 0

Lao Liu straightened his back and entered. The office was small, with a desk and walls adorned with photographs of past Wardens, as well as various honor medals framed on the walls. Beside the desk stood a round pedestal with several iron swords inserted into it. 0

The chair behind the desk faced away from the door but then turned around. The person seated was none other than Director Wan, who had previously been gambling with other merchants while watching Lu Fei Fan play chess against the One-Armed Old Man. He looked somewhat indifferent as he regarded the stern prison guard standing before him. 0

"What do you need to report?" Director Wan asked. 0

"It's about the incident involving the death of a prisoner in Area Eight..." 0

"Area Eight?" Director Wan seemed to recall something and leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk. "Coincidentally, I believe I just received some footage from the surveillance department." 0

With that, Director Wan pressed a button on his desk to activate the Virtual Screen. A Light Screen materialized between them, displaying a scene of two figures fighting amidst pouring rain. 0

Lao Liu's heart sank; wasn't this exactly what he had been looking for—the culprit? How did this video make its way to leadership so quickly? Those treacherous individuals! Despite having flattered them often, they had still sold him out at a critical moment. If Director Wan were to take offense and blame him for incompetence, he could easily lose his position, leaving his future bleak. 0

Lao Liu continued to watch the video, noting that the two fighters were evenly matched in their combat skills. However, in the end, Lu Fei Fan unexpectedly unleashed a faint aura of energy. Although it wasn't very strong, it was clearly distinguishable in the rain as a unique manifestation of Pulse Energy. 0

Wan Director paused the footage at the moment Lu Fei Fan struck down Sang Kun, then zoomed in on the Virtual Screen. Despite some blurriness, Lu Fei Fan's profile was still visible. 0

"This kid has decent fighting skills and seems to have cultivated a bit of Fuser Pulse Energy. However, he hasn't passed the Unified Awakeners Examination yet, so he probably isn't a Fuser; otherwise, he wouldn't be stuck in our prison," Wan Director remarked. 0

Lao Liu listened quietly, not daring to speak. As the saying goes, too much talk leads to mistakes; it was better to wait for his superior to give further instructions. 0

"Go find him for me," Wan Director ordered. 0

Lao Liu nodded and turned to carry out the task. 0

Once Lao Liu left, Wan Director immediately dialed Warden's number. 0

"Hello, Warden. I've found a candidate with some potential; the upcoming duel should be quite interesting. Don't worry, Zhu Qianba, Hamed, and several other key figures will be present. Yes, I will make sure everything is arranged properly." 0

After hanging up, Wan Director tapped his fingers on the table, a wicked smile curling at the corners of his mouth as if he were plotting something. 0

Meanwhile, Lu Fei Fan remained unaware that a troublesome situation was drawing near. 0
