In a villa estate on Fortune Island, Tao Shao lounged in a chair, wearing sunglasses and basking in the sun. His peaceful moment was abruptly interrupted by a hurried bodyguard who entered the room. 0

"Young Master, Dao Ge has sent a subordinate to see you. It's urgent," the bodyguard reported. 0

"Let him in," Tao Shao waved his hand dismissively without turning his head. 0

Moments later, the bodyguard returned with a scruffy-looking subordinate who had a sharp nose and an eager demeanor. The man stood opposite Tao Shao, nervously greeting him multiple times with "Hello, Tao Shao." 0

"Well then, what did Dao Ge send you for? Is that matter settled?" Tao Shao asked, still reclining in his chair. 0

The subordinate stepped forward anxiously. "Dao Ge, this situation is a bit tricky. He sent someone in charge of that area to handle it, thinking everything would go smoothly. But they took twenty men and all of them were taken down!" 0

"What!" Tao Shao sat up straight in his chair, removing his sunglasses with a look of astonishment. "How is that possible? Didn't we investigate and find out that the other side was just an incompetent good-for-nothing? How could twenty men be taken down? Does he have someone helping him?" 0

"The specifics are unclear even to Dao Ge right now," the subordinate swallowed hard, struggling to find the right words. "But Dao Ge sent me to inform you that those men have been arrested by the police and are temporarily detained. Dao Ge has some connections there, so he wanted me to let you know that this matter is no longer just your concern, Tao Shao; it has become a significant issue for us at Heihubang as well. For the sake of those twenty injured brothers, even if that guy is formidable, he won't make it out alive." 0

When Lu Fei Fan woke up, he found himself lying in a small, bare prison cell. The cramped room contained a wash basin, a toilet, a bed, and barred windows letting in some light—clear signs of a jail. The door was secured with iron bars. 0

He sat up on the bed and noticed a corridor outside the bars; across from him was an empty prison cell that appeared to hold no inmates. He walked over to the bars and looked around but did not see his brother locked up in any nearby cell. 0

Had he been arrested by the police? 0

He searched his body and realized all his belongings had been confiscated. A dull pain throbbed in his head as he tried to piece together what had happened. It seemed that after he fainted, the police arrived and found him alongside A Teng and Dali among those sprawled on the ground; they must have been brought here together. 0

He had been injured and unconscious, so logically, he should have been lying in a hospital. Why was he in a prison instead? 0

As this thought crossed his mind, Lu Fei Fan checked his body and was astonished to discover an incredible fact. 0

All the injuries he had sustained from fighting with the gangsters were completely gone! Not a single trace or pain remained. Lu Fei Fan quickly glanced at himself in the mirror and noticed that his clean face, aside from a bit of dust, showed no signs of having been hurt at all. 0

In fact, he looked even more handsome than before, with smoother and fairer skin. His starry eyes and sharp eyebrows, along with his elongated chin, made him realize that he had never thought of himself as particularly good-looking. Now, as he looked at himself, he felt a surge of confidence and pride. At this rate, attracting girls should be quite easy. 0

What on earth was going on? 0

In reality, Lu Fei Fan was unaware that his body had been enhanced by an implanted chip. He had even grown taller and his physique had become much sturdier. He simply hadn’t noticed that his senses—both sight and hearing—had also become significantly sharper. 0

Before long, he heard footsteps coming from the corridor outside the cell, about several dozen meters away. Sure enough, after a while, two police officers dressed in Free Federation uniforms entered and opened the cell where Lu Fei Fan was held. 0

“Lu Fei Fan, come with us.” 0

Lu Fei Fan nodded without asking any questions and followed them out. 0

The two officers led him through the winding prison corridors. As they walked past rows of cells, the inmates inside were all ruggedly built with thick arms and legs. They occasionally whistled at Lu Fei Fan, taunting him. 0

“Hey, this kid looks pretty fresh.” 0

“Haha, looks like a girl.” 0

“Hey, Zi, remember to wash up well tonight!” 0

“Haha, Guo Biaozi, give it up. He’s mine. Tonight, I’ll make sure he’s well taken care of.” 0

Lu Fei Fan walked calmly, ignoring the provocative remarks. The two police officers accompanying him were also uninterested in the banter; they simply escorted Lu Fei Fan outside. 0

He was taken to a separate interrogation room but still hadn’t seen his brother or Da Li with A Teng. 0

Inside the meeting room sat two people: a middle-aged man in police uniform and a young female officer who appeared to be around Lu Fei Fan’s age and was quite attractive. 0

Lu Fei Fan took a seat across from them, fixating on the young female officer. Initially, she was busy writing something down, but when she looked up and caught Lu Fei Fan staring at her, her brows furrowed as she said sternly, “What are you looking at? Be serious!” 0

“I am serious,” Lu Fei Fan replied, still gazing at her. 0

“You…” 0

Just as Lu Fei Fan was about to tease the female officer further, the middle-aged man interrupted him. 0

“Alright, alright!” 0

After a moment, the middle-aged police officer continued with the questioning. 0

“Name.” 0

“Lu Fei Fan.” 0

“Age.” 0

“0.” 0

Thus, the question-and-answer session continued for over ten minutes, after which Lu Fei Fan fell silent. 0

“Do you know what you’ve done?” 0

“Aren’t you supposed to have investigated this thoroughly?” Lu Fei Fan replied indifferently. 0

“Hmph, still playing dumb? There was a brawl with twenty injured, and thirteen of them are still in serious condition in the hospital. If it wasn’t you, then who was it?” The beautiful female officer glared at him, clearly displeased with Lu Fei Fan's delinquent demeanor. 0

“I was on the receiving end of the beating,” Lu Fei Fan corrected her. “Moreover, my brother was taken hostage by them.” 0

After he spoke, the middle-aged police officer exchanged glances with the female officer. They did not refute him but instead lowered their heads to quietly jot down some notes. 0

“I’ve said everything I needed to. When can I go?” Lu Fei Fan asked. 0

“We’ll let you go once we’ve cleared up the situation,” the middle-aged police officer said as he closed his notebook. 0

"You are unjustly detaining a good person," Lu Fei Fan said, a hint of irritation in his voice. 0

"We can't just let you go without a thorough investigation. What if you were to commit more crimes after being released? The laws of the Free Federation won't wrong an innocent person, but they also won't let a criminal go free!" The female officer replied sternly, looking at Lu Fei Fan with conviction. 0

"Alright," Lu Fei Fan said, spreading his hands in resignation. "But could you at least return my Portable Superbrain Device? I'm a student at the Free Federation Academy, and I need to review for my upcoming graduation exams. Surely that's reasonable?" 0

The female officer glanced at the middle-aged police officer, who considered for a moment before nodding. After she stepped out, he returned Lu Fei Fan's confiscated Portable Superbrain Device. Then Lu Fei Fan was taken back to his cell, where the other inmates began to provoke him excitedly. However, he ignored them and returned to his own cell. Once inside, he powered on the Portable Superbrain Device. Just as he connected to the internet and the virtual screen unfolded before him, suddenly, the Superbrain Device emitted a strange sound. 0

Bang— 0

The entire prison cell, along with its lights, went dark in an instant! 0

In the darkness, Lu Fei Fan's Superbrain Device faintly connected with his vision and neural pathways. Before him appeared a magnificent Palace Gate, towering several dozen meters high and twenty meters wide. He felt like an ant standing before that intricately patterned stone door. As he raised his hand to touch it, he was immediately engulfed by a blinding light. 0

"Well, well, well, you finally made it," a gentle voice echoed in the virtual space surrounding Lu Fei Fan. 0
