The people around them dared not speak loudly, afraid to disturb the couple's most romantic moment. They quietly captured the beautiful scene with their cameras, as if it were a precious memory.
Zheng Mengni smiled, her lips curving into a radiant expression: "I do."
Lost in thought, she grasped Ye Bingran's hand and asked, "On our wedding night, where will you go?"
"Your health is more important; let's have a doctor check on you first." Ye Bingran held her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"I’m fine. I just had a strange dream earlier," she replied.
Ye Bingran sat on the edge of the bed, gazing intently into her eyes. "What kind of dream?"
Zheng Mengni's expression shifted slightly. "I dreamed that you wanted me to call you 'brother.' But you're only a year younger than me."
Ye Bingran remained still for a long moment, his breath catching in his throat. He had just celebrated his twenty-seventh birthday. Yet before that, he had died twice and been reborn twice. It took him a full ten years to transition from twenty-six to twenty-seven.
But as Zheng Mengni looked at his calm face, her mind wandered. In two worlds, he was still just him. But if she belonged to this world, would she disappear in the other? What would happen to Ye Bingran in that other world?
"I had a dream too," Ye Bingran suddenly smiled, testing the waters casually. "But at first, didn’t you always call me 'uncle'?"
This left Zheng Mengni momentarily speechless. Her reaction was clear and obvious.
Ye Bingran's gaze became fixed, his hand resting on the edge of the bed trembling uncontrollably. He tried to suppress it, but the excitement within him was hard to disguise.
"You are Ye Yao Yao's little uncle," she continued. "You even attended my parent-teacher conference."
Zheng Mengni couldn't help but recount every detail from her dream, while Ye Bingran observed her closely, and she was equally attentive to him.
Seeing Ye Bingran's reaction, it seemed that she had experienced the same emotions in her dreams as he had.
"It's not a dream," she whispered softly.
He believed that it was a blessing from the heavens, allowing him to reunite with his beloved in this cold, dark world, fulfilling the regrets of his past life in his dreams. In that life, he had been all alone, relying solely on himself to carve out a bloody path, only to find himself dying at the finish line of success.
In the dream, the trajectory of fate changed; his lover saved his life and rewrote his doomed ending.
Zheng Mengni embraced Ye Bingran, burying her face in the crook of his neck, and gently said, "Yes, it's not a dream."
In her world, Ye Bingran had accompanied her, supported her, and witnessed her growth. Similarly, in Ye Bingran's world, she had seen him struggle tirelessly through life.
A pair of lovers from different worlds quietly entered each other's lives in a fortunate way. "I guard your growth; you accompany my future."
Perhaps in the days to come, Zheng Mengni and Ye Bingran would have opportunities to traverse between their two worlds, gradually filling in the gaps left by their past regrets.
But no matter what, the outcome would not change. They were destined to be lifelong soulmates, hand in hand.
