"Let go of my son! Stop it, Xiao Chen!" 0

Wen Qian screamed loudly in her dream, suddenly sitting up with wide eyes, filled with anger and heartache. Her brows furrowed tightly, her breath quickened, and her body was drenched in sweat, cold beads forming on her forehead. 0

In a daze, she blinked at the scene before her, momentarily stunned. Her pupils constricted before quickly focusing. 0

This... isn't this the old Lu family home? 0

But the old Lu family had been demolished long ago. Hadn't she already died? 0

In disbelief, she pinched her arm hard, feeling the immediate sting as it turned red. The pain shot to her brain. 0

Wen Qian was astonished to realize that it seemed she had returned. 0

In her past life, after her parents died, she had married into this family and lived cautiously, afraid to defy anyone. The man she married only stayed in the army and never returned to support her; he merely sent money every month. 0

The people of the old Lu family were intent on getting her phone money and were shamelessly trying to take her money to build a house for their youngest son. 0

When she refused to give them money, they pressured her repeatedly. Eventually, they even threatened her with her son Xiao Chen, coercing her into handing over the cash. But after she gave them the money, she discovered that her son had already been sold. 0

When she tried to find him, they knocked her out cold. When she woke up, she found herself in the bed of a village idiot. 0

Before she could comprehend what was happening, she was caught in bed by her sister-in-law Zhang Yan's people, who accused her of being unfaithful due to loneliness and shamelessness. 0

She knelt at the door until her head bled but was still thrown out. 0

Finally, they showed some mercy and let her back inside. But when she woke up again, she found herself sold deep in the mountains. 0

In those mountains, men treated her like an animal and tortured her until she could no longer endure it and died from the torment. 0

Wen Qian trembled with rage, her face flushed with anger as she wished she could immediately take revenge on them all. 0

Suddenly, she thought of Xiao Chen. Where is my son? 0

Anxiously shifting her gaze, she saw her son sleeping peacefully beside her. 0

Her breath caught in her throat as she cautiously reached out to touch his pale little face. 0

Warm and soft. 0

Tears welled up in her eyes instantly, and a deep ache filled her nose. 0

It was truly wonderful that her son was still alive. 0

Wen Qian immediately recalled the scene she had witnessed before her rebirth: Xiao Chen was being beaten by several men wielding sticks, his body covered in blood and wounds as he lay on the ground. His right leg was already missing, and several fingers were gone from his left hand, as if he were waiting for death to come. In the end, he was beaten to death. 0

Her heart ached, tears welling in her eyes as she gently reached out to touch her son's right leg and left hand. They were still there. In this life, she would never live weakly again; she would live beautifully and ensure her son could lead a normal life, growing up happily and healthily. But every member of the Lu family would have to pay the price. 0

Wen Qian checked the time and hurried to prepare dinner. After washing up with her son, she plopped down onto a stool and brought two bowls of thick porridge in front of them. She then took three eggs from the table, peeled two for Xiao Chen, and stuffed one into her own mouth. 0

Noticing her son's gaze, Wen Qian reached out to pat his little head, feeling a pang of sorrow as she looked at his thin face while he ate the egg. 0

“Mommy.” 0

Xiao Chen looked at her in disbelief. His mother seemed a bit strange; he stared at the tender egg in her palm, pursing his lips as saliva pooled in his mouth. He had never eaten an egg before! 0

Wen Qian quickly finished her bowl of porridge and noticed that Xiao Chen was still staring at the egg without eating. Feeling both heartbroken and angry, she softly encouraged him, bringing the egg to his mouth and coaxing him to eat. 0

“Xiao Chen, eat up.” 0

Lu Lufeng strolled over to the table and saw Xiao Chen eating an egg. He quickly glanced at the table—there were no more eggs left! He squatted down on the floor and began to wail loudly. 0

“Grandma! The little bastard ate my egg! My egg! The little bastard ate my egg!” 0

The loud cries of the two children instantly summoned Ding Cuihua from the kitchen. She looked at her two grandsons throwing tantrums on the floor with concern. “Oh dear, what’s wrong with my sweethearts? Don’t cry, don’t cry.” 0

Lu Lufeng grabbed her, tears streaming down his face with snot hanging from his nose, pointing at Lu Chen on the table as he shouted, “The little bastard ate my egg! Grandma, beat him! Make him spit it out!” 0

Ding Cuihua noticed that there were remnants of egg on Xiao Chen's lips and eggshells scattered across the table. Furious, she flung the spatula she was holding toward Wen Qian and her son. 0

“Filthy mouths! You little brats! Why are you so greedy? Are you starving ghosts reborn?” 0

Wen Qian hugged her son to dodge the spatula thrown at them and stood aside, coldly watching Ding Cuihua’s contorted face. 0

“Are you still going to hide?” 0

Saying this, Ding Cuihua picked up a stick from the ground and approached Wen Qian. 0

Seizing the opportunity, Wen Qian swiftly grabbed a bowl of soup from the table and splashed it onto Ding Cuihua's face. 0

"Bah! You old hag, I’m the one who feeds the chickens at home, and now you won’t even let my son have an egg?" 0

Xiao Chen had eaten so few eggs throughout his life that he could count them on one hand. Why did those two little brats get to eat an egg every day? 0

Ding Cuihua stood awkwardly in the yard, a few grains of rice stuck in her hair, staring incredulously at Wen Qian. How had this wretched woman changed her ways? Wasn’t she supposed to be standing there waiting for a beating? 0

Her downturned eyes glared fiercely at Wen Qian, her mouth twisted in a snarl as if she wanted to devour her whole. 0

"Ah! You little wretch, how dare you turn against me! Daring to hit your mother-in-law!" 0

Wen Qian cast a cold glance at Lu Yao and Zhang Yan, who had just emerged from the house to watch the commotion. They clearly looked like they had just woken up, still yawning! 0

She tilted her chin towards Zhang Yan. "Your daughter-in-law is standing right there." 0

Finally, the last big shot, Old Man Lu, stepped out of the house. His face darkened instantly as he took in the chaotic scene in the yard. 0

He glared at Wen Qian and scolded, "What’s all this ruckus? Don’t you feel ashamed? Eldest daughter-in-law, how can you be so inconsiderate? Can’t you give your mother a break?" 0

Lu He and Lu Feng noticed their grandfather had come out and hurriedly got up from the ground to run over, clinging to Old Man Lu's legs and sitting on the ground. 0

"Grandpa, beat her! Make that little brat kneel and be our horse! I want to ride a big horse!" 0

Lu Feng looked smugly at them. "Let that little wretch kneel down and be my horse!" 0

Wen Qian trembled with anger as she listened to their words. They actually treated Xiao Chen like a horse; who knew how they bullied him behind her back! 0

No wonder Xiao Chen always came home covered in bruises and never spoke about it no matter how much she asked. 0

Wen Qian glanced at the breakfast on the table. "Eat? What’s there to eat?" 0

She walked over and grabbed a bowl, splashing its contents at them. Even Old Man Lu couldn’t escape; his pants got wet. 0

Then she suddenly flipped the table over, sending it crashing to the ground. The bowls shattered with a loud crash, food spilling everywhere, landing right in the chicken droppings. 0

"You all bully my son behind my back? Then don’t even think about eating!" 0
