Shen Hui stumbled into the elevator in a daze, and pressed the floor button in a foggy state.
"Ding," the elevator door slowly opened, and the sixteenth floor had arrived. Shen Hui dragged her heavy steps towards the door, her arms no longer under control, as if losing sensation, hanging weakly by her side.
Shen Hui felt everything go black before her eyes, and her legs gave out, causing her to collapse on the ground.
"Zhou Song, the meal you made today was pretty good. Let's continue next time," said He Tuo as he cleaned up the dishes.
On the other end of the phone, Zhou Song clicked his tongue, "If you didn't have a performance today, do you think I would cook for you?"
"Tsk, the way you say that. Shouldn't brothers help each other out?" He Tuo said with a smile.
Zhou Song rolled her eyes and said, "Tch, spare me. I'm not your personal chef. Did you call in the middle of the night just to praise my cooking? If you have something to say, say it!"
He Tuo chuckled softly, "That's what brothers do. We'll continue tomorrow."
"Another performance tomorrow?" Zhou Song asked.
"Well, this is the last one of the month."
Zhou Song furrowed his brows, "Of course, it's the end of the month tomorrow. How many more do you want?"
"Alright, I'll have fewer scheduled for next month."
Zhou Song coughed seriously, "Stop it, you always say that, when was it ever true."
"This time it's true," He Tuo smiled guiltily.
Zhou Song said helplessly, " He Tuo, the doctor said if your throat continues like this, it will really be ruined."
He Tuo paused for a moment, with a hint of discomfort in his tone, and slowly said, "If it's ruined, then it's ruined."
Zhou Song was a little annoyed, and his tone became serious, " He Tuo!"
"Alright, alright, stop nagging, I'll send you the schedule for this month on WeChat." He Tuo said impatiently.
Zhou Song took a look at the schedule and said, "You know your place."
"I'm going downstairs to take out the trash, I'll hang up."
Zhou Song responded with an "Hmm," then turned around and glanced at the photo on the coffee table. Suddenly, he became serious. "Master, when do you think He Tuo will get better? It would be great if you were here, then this kid wouldn't be so lost." Zhou Song sighed.
He Tuo just opened the door and saw Shen Hui lying on the ground. Perhaps it was instinct, but He Tuo put the trash on the ground and walked over to Shen Hui.
He Tuo squatted down and felt Shen Hui's breath. It was clear that the person was still alive, just unconscious.
He Tuo noticed the ID hanging around Shen Hui's neck, clearly stating "Performance Work Permit." Also, Shen Hui still had stage makeup on, obviously just like He Tuo, both being drama actors.
"It's you, Liang Shanbo," He Tuo said, looking at the work permit. He Tuo turned and went back to the room, then came out a few minutes later with a cup of brown sugar water. He walked to Shen Hui's side and slowly fed the brown sugar water into Shen Hui's mouth.
The brown sugar water slowly moisturized Shen Hui's dry throat, causing her furrowed brows to relax slightly. Before long, Shen Hui's eyelids began to tremble gently, and finally she slowly opened her eyes. She looked at He Tuo somewhat confused, as if she hadn't fully woken up yet.
"Awake now, have some brown sugar water," He Tuo said softly, offering the cup to Shen Hui's lips.
Shen Hui didn't hesitate, took the cup and started drinking, seemingly unconcerned about any potential issues. After finishing, she handed the cup back to He Tuo.
"Aren't you afraid I'll drug you?" He Tuo said with a playful tone.
Shen Hui didn't say anything, just lightly pointed to the surveillance camera not far behind.
He Tuo followed Shen Hui's finger and instantly understood her meaning, then smiled knowingly.
Shen Hui supported the ground with his hands and slowly stood up. With a "drip" sound, the door opened.
"Thank you," Shen Hui turned around and glanced at He Tuo, pointing in the direction of the door and asked, "Do you want to come in for a cup of tea?"
He Tuo gently waved his hand, indicating it was unnecessary.
Shen Hui Seeing the situation, a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, then he gently closed the door.
He Tuo He smiled at the closed door, then looked down at the empty cup in his hand, shook his head with a smile.
