Song Feiwan was a skilled physician, and in the matter concerning Xu Xianzhi, she owed Rong Jiayi a favor. Out of both emotion and reason, she could not stand by and do nothing. 0

The assassin was definitely nearby, searching for them. The situation was urgent, and there was no time to waste! 0

Song Feiwan quickly scanned the courtyard; she had ordered the construction of a cellar for storing medicinal herbs. She opened the cellar door and pushed Rong Jiayi inside. Then, she instructed him to remove his inner clothing and tighten it around the severely bleeding area. 0

Before closing the door, she solemnly reminded him, "The cellar is ventilated. Wait here for me to come back." 0

Finally, she ordered Dongzhi to fetch some hay to cover the bloodstains on the ground before hurriedly returning to her room. 0

She exchanged a knowing glance with Dongzhi, then sat by the window and began to review accounts. Her expression remained calm as she spoke to Dongzhi, "In three days, the assistants who went to Jiangnan to purchase medicinal herbs will return via the waterways. This time they are bringing back a large quantity of herbs, so arrange for two more people to assist with their arrival." 0

Though Dongzhi felt a lingering fear, all she needed to do was agree, so she did not reveal anything amiss. 0

Song Feiwan continued discussing matters related to the shop while keeping her ears attuned to any sounds from outside. Aside from the chirping of birds and the rustling of the wind, there was nothing else. Yet she had a strong intuition that the assassin was lurking in the shadows, watching them. Any slight mistake could lead to them being attacked! 0

In such times, one must remain calm. Song Feiwan discreetly pinched her palm, making an effort to slow her racing heart. 0

After an unknown amount of time had passed, she finally set down her accounts, signaled for Dongzhi to extinguish the lamp, locked up the clinic, and boarded the carriage to leave. 0

Once they had driven out of Zhuque Street, Song Feiwan's tense body finally relaxed as she turned to Rong Jiayi and said, "Hang in there; I will bandage you up soon." 0

Uncertain of Rong Jiayi's injuries, she laid him flat on the floor of the carriage. Fearing that the assassin might pursue them, she had barely breathed a word with Dongzhi just moments ago. 0

Rong Jiayi's gaze was hazy; he was losing blood rapidly. Fortunately, out of habit, Song Feiwan always kept common medicinal supplies in her carriage and never left home without her silver needles. 0

The wheels of the carriage turned with a soft rumble as Song Feiwan knelt on one knee, signaling Dongzhi to assist her. She first wrapped several severe wounds on Rong Jiayi's body with gauze, then supplemented it with acupuncture to stop the bleeding. 0

As she focused, time seemed to fly by. When the carriage finally stopped at the Prince's residence, Song Feiwan stepped out, her hands stained with blood, and solemnly instructed, "Butler Sun, help him to a guest room, and be careful with the wound on his neck! Qiaoshou and Qiaoxin, bring more hot water over! Dongzhi, go fetch my medicine box!" 0

The servants responded promptly and busily went about their tasks. Even though they were curious about Rong Jiayi's identity, they dared not ask. Only Butler Sun glanced at him in shock while moving him. "Lord Rong? How did he get such severe injuries?!" 0

After spending considerable time, Song Feiwan finally cleaned his wounds, applied medicine, and carefully bandaged them. By then, Rong Jiayi had already fallen into a deep sleep. 0

Once she finished her work, Dongzhi finally mustered the courage to ask, "Your Highness, how is Lord Rong?" 0

Song Feiwan replied, "We'll observe him for a night; he should be fine. Some wounds are deep enough to see the bone, but fortunately, they aren't vital. The most serious one is his throat; he won't be able to speak until it heals." 0

Dongzhi let out a sigh of relief. "As long as he can speak again later, that's good." 0

Last time when he was attacked, she had wanted to ask who Lord Rong had offended. 0

Song Feiwan shook her head, indicating that she didn't know either. "Perhaps his position makes him a target for hatred." 0

Dongzhi said softly, "I hope he recovers quickly. It's getting late; you should rest now. I'll stay here and keep watch." 0
