After spending a few relatively peaceful days in the cabin, Anna, Jack, and Lisa gradually began to feel a sense of unease. Anna couldn't explain this feeling, but her intuition told her that danger was approaching.
One evening, the wind outside began to grow fierce, with dark clouds gathering and the sky quickly darkening. Anna and Lisa were preparing dinner, while Jack went out to find more food. Just then, they heard the sound of an engine in the distance.
"What's that sound?" Lisa asked nervously.
"Like vehicles, we need to be careful," Anna replied, feeling that something was wrong.
Shortly after, an armored vehicle pulled up in front of the cabin and a group of fully armed people got out. There were no rescue markings on them, instead they appeared more fierce and ruthless. The leader of the group took off his helmet, revealing a stern face.
"We are here to find someone. Has anyone seen a person named Jack?" the man asked coldly.
Anna and Lisa exchanged a glance, feeling a sense of foreboding. Just as they hesitated on how to respond, Jack emerged from the darkness.
"Jack, what's going on?" Anna asked in surprise.
"I'm sorry, Anna, I have to do this," Jack said with a cold look, completely devoid of the previous warmth and concern.
"What do you mean?" Anna felt an indescribable fear, not knowing what Jack was planning.
"I joined them, they promised to protect me and make me one of them," Jack sneered, "and you, are no longer part of my plan."
Anna felt a pang of heartbreak, unable to believe that Jack would betray them so cruelly. But she knew it was not the time to dwell, she had to protect herself and Lisa.
Three
At that moment, the people on the armored vehicle started to move, taking out weapons and attempting to capture Anna and Lisa. Anna reacted quickly, pulling Lisa to the corner of the shack, trying to find an opportunity to fight back.
"We have to run out!" Anna said in a low voice, her heart pounding, but she knew she couldn't back down.
Lisa tightly held Anna's hand, her eyes filled with fear and determination: "Together."
Just as they were about to rush out of the cabin, a strange sound suddenly came from outside. The sound was deep and eerie, as if some unknown presence was approaching.
"It's those monsters again!" Lisa exclaimed in fear. They had encountered this kind of sound before and knew what it foretold.
Four
From the shadows outside the cabin, a group of new monsters slowly emerged. These monsters looked completely different from the previous zombies, with their bodies covered in thick shells, eyes shining with red light, and moving swiftly and eerily.
"What on earth are these things?" the man at the front exclaimed, clearly having never seen such creatures before.
"They are new evolved forms, we must leave here," Anna quickly assessed, knowing that these creatures were more dangerous than the ones before.
However, these monsters seem to have a strong hostility towards humans. They quickly pounced on the crowd on the armored vehicle and launched a bloody massacre. Jack tried to escape, but was caught by one of the monsters and screamed in pain.
Anna and Lisa took the opportunity to rush out of the cabin, hiding on the side, observing this thrilling battle. They knew they had to stay calm and find an opportunity to escape.
Five
In the chaos, Anna and Lisa found a small path leading to the forest and decided to escape while the monsters and people in armored vehicles were distracted.
"Hurry, it's not safe here!" Anna pulled Lisa and quickly ran towards the narrow path.
They ran in the darkness, with Jack's screams and the monster's roars echoing in their ears. Anna's heart was filled with complex emotions - Jack's betrayal caused her pain, but she knew she had to move forward.
