Ye Ling's expression was filled with pain as she couldn't help but shout, "Dad, my mom did enough for you when she was alive. Why won't you let her go even in death? Why can't you allow her to be reborn?"
Ye Sheng's face turned pale with anger at her words, especially since this was a family disgrace that she had brought up in public. He swung his hand and coldly reprimanded, "Ling Ling, is this how I raised you? Have I taught you this for all these years?"
Did his daughter even understand the consequences of tearing down this building? Did she realize what it would mean for the Ye family and for herself?
Ye Ling covered her face but remained stubborn. Disappointment flickered across Ye Sheng's face.
"Go home and reflect on your actions. I brought a master here today; don't embarrass yourself in front of him!"
At that moment, Ye Bin also chimed in, "Yeah, sister, just listen to Dad. Don't provoke him. The master is here to help Dad solve problems; don't ruin it for him."
Ye Ling ignored her brother and immediately lifted her head, her gaze falling on the two people behind Ye Sheng.
Bai Tong introduced himself with a hint of arrogance, "I am Bai Tong, and this is my master Uncle Bai Zhu. We are both disciples of the Bai Mountain Sect."
Seeing the two of them filled Ye Ling with a wave of unease. She anxiously asked, "Dad, why did you invite them? What do you want to do to Mom?"
Ye Ling had already seen through her father's selfish nature; he only cared about himself and his interests. She didn't believe that he had brought these two from the Bai Mountain Sect to help her mother be reborn. What was he really planning?
The more she thought about it, the more frightened she became.
Ye Sheng frowned in dissatisfaction and said, "Ling Ling, you’re meddling too much. This is my arrangement; I’m not dead yet, so it’s not your place to speak."
Ye Ling shook her head vigorously.
"No, no matter what you want them to do, I won't agree," Ye Sheng said firmly. At that moment, he didn't want to waste any more time or let anyone see his family as a joke. Moreover, he wanted to resolve the issues plaguing him as soon as possible.
He had consulted numerous masters, all of whom claimed he was haunted by vengeful spirits, their resentment lingering around him. They warned that his life was short and that it was his fate; they dared not intervene nor had the ability to help. Only the Bai Mountain sect accepted his case.
He had worked hard to build his family business, and he certainly didn't want to die so soon. Turning to Bai Tong and Bai Zhu, he said, "Masters, I appreciate your help today."
Bai Tong and Bai Zhu nodded arrogantly before heading toward the building. Ye Ling felt a surge of unease and immediately stepped in front of them. "What are you planning to do?"
Bai Tong frowned in dissatisfaction. "We came at your father's invitation and have our duties to fulfill. Why are you stopping us? You wouldn't want your father to be tormented by vengeful spirits and meet his end, would you?"
Ye Ling gritted her teeth. Those vengeful spirits were her mother. If her father hadn't acted so ruthlessly, her mother wouldn't have been trapped at the bottom of the building for so long, unable to reincarnate.
"What do you intend to do about it?" she demanded.
Bai Tong's expression remained haughty. "That's none of your concern."
With that, they continued forward. Unable to stop them, Ye Ling turned to Ruan Fuxi for help. Ruan Fuxi thought that since she was already there, she couldn't just stand by and watch.
She frowned at Ye Sheng. "Mr. Ye, you've already caused enough trouble. What you're doing now is even more heartless and ungrateful. I advise you to turn back quickly and accept reality."
