Gao Tao was a boss, running a company with over a thousand employees, quite a substantial scale. He usually didn't pay much attention to the internet; he had downloaded the Shark platform merely to relax and watch beautiful streamers sing and dance.
Yesterday, he noticed that one particular stream was popular and, out of curiosity, clicked in. However, the streamer didn't show her face; it was a fortune-telling stream. He instinctively wanted to exit but happened to hear someone mention that they had won a million because of the streamer. For some inexplicable reason, he decided to stay.
At first, Gao Tao thought this was just a trickster trying to swindle money, but after listening to several people's calls, his initial skepticism began to waver. It didn’t seem fake. If it were fake, then this streamer was truly impressive—she had even managed to deceive a savvy businessman like him.
Recently, Gao Tao had been troubled by an issue that left him indecisive. After some contemplation, he decided to give the call a try.
Ruan Fuxi first glanced at his face. "What would you like to know?"
Gao Tao remained silent for a moment before saying, "I want to know about my marriage."
Although the streamer hadn’t shown her face, Gao Tao felt as if she could see right through him.
Ruan Fuxi said, "You are forty-two today and have one son and one daughter. From your features, it seems you encountered a benefactor when you were twenty. You got married at twenty-five, and since then, your career has flourished, leading you to accumulate considerable wealth. However, I see some lines at the corners of your eyes; it appears you've recently encountered temptation. Although you haven't done anything out of line yet, you're feeling torn between the newcomer and your wife, am I right?"
Gao Tao's expression changed; she had hit the nail on the head! Recently, a new secretary had joined the company—fresh out of university, attractive and tall. Every time she saw him, her eyes sparkled with admiration for him, which greatly satisfied his ego as a man.
"Does a man only love one woman his entire life?"
"When you have money, do you only think about swapping for younger and prettier ones? Do you have no conscience?"
"Your wife has been with you for so many years and has borne two children; now that there's someone new, you're starting to waver? How can you justify that?"
Gao Tao looked at the comments on the screen with an increasingly grim expression. After all these years as a boss, everyone around him had always flattered him; who dared speak to him like this?
Ruan Fuxi's voice continued: "I believe you've already thought about what I just said. Your wife is your benefactor; without her support, your career wouldn't be what it is today. I can also tell you with certainty that the newcomer you're encountering is nothing but trouble; she is entirely after your money."
After hearing Ruan Fuxi's words, Gao Tao didn't show any outward reaction but internally agreed with her assessment. He had indeed met his current wife when he was twenty; it was she who provided the dowry and support when he started his company.
Ruan Fuxi said, "If you find yourself destitute, who would be the one willing to stay by your side? You should already know the answer to that. I've looked at your face, and I have one piece of advice: those who neglect their wives will lose all wealth. Do you have any other questions?"
At that moment, Gao Tao had already made his decision.
"No."
He exited the call.
He would let the new secretary transfer to another department; he could not betray his wife.
