The front of Ruan Huai's car was completely crumpled, and all the airbags had deployed.
Onlookers felt a tightening in their hearts at the sight of the wreckage. Given the severity of the crash, it was likely that the people inside were beyond help.
The truck driver, terrified, stumbled out of his vehicle, trembling as he realized that his life might be over.
Inside another car nearby, Sheng Yanzhou noticed the accident as well. His assistant couldn't help but feel relieved that it wasn't their vehicle involved. However, he also felt a pang of regret; with such a severe collision, he wondered if the occupants could possibly survive.
While the assistant was lost in thought, he suddenly heard his boss speak: "Get out and help."
The assistant was taken aback but quickly replied, "Yes, Mr. Sheng."
He opened the car door and approached the wrecked vehicle, joining others to pry open the door. Expecting to see a gruesome scene filled with blood, he was surprised to find that aside from being trapped and unable to move, the occupants seemed relatively unharmed.
He then moved to the back seat and was taken aback when he recognized one of the passengers. It appeared to be General Manager Ruan from Tianyuan Technology, who had recently discussed a potential collaboration with their own CEO. Although no agreement had been reached yet, the two companies maintained a friendly relationship.
It seemed that Mr. Sheng had recognized Ruan's car and had specifically asked him to assist.
At that moment, Ruan Huai was holding his head and slowly opened his eyes, recalling the impact of the crash.
"General Manager Ruan?"
Ruan Huai looked at the person before him and recognized him. "Assistant Yang? What are you doing here?"
Assistant Yang nodded in acknowledgment. "General Manager Ruan, how are you feeling? Our CEO happened to be passing by when he saw the accident and asked me to come down to help."
Ruan Huai remembered the force of the truck crashing into them and felt a lingering sense of fear; however, he soon realized that he didn't seem to be injured after all.
"I'm fine. How is my assistant? Is he hurt?"
In such a serious accident, it was nearly impossible for someone in the driver's seat not to be injured unless by some miracle.
Just then, Ruan Huai saw Assistant Yang exclaim in astonishment:
"Mr. Ruan, you are truly lucky. Your assistant is unharmed, but it seems they may have fainted from the shock. I've already called for an ambulance."
Hearing Assistant Yang's words, Ruan Huai felt a sense of wonder; it truly was a miracle. Suddenly, he remembered something and reached into his pocket, only to find it filled with talisman ash.
Ruan Huai froze, his expression revealing disbelief and shock. That was precisely where he had placed the talisman for Xiao Xi. After such a serious accident, he had emerged unscathed. The effectiveness of the talisman was the only explanation he could think of.
He recalled Assistant Yang mentioning President Sheng and suppressed his astonishment as he stepped out of the car. They were all people of the business world; since the other party had sent an assistant to help, it would be impolite not to express his gratitude.
Ruan Huai approached Sheng Yanzhou's car just as the window rolled down.
Sheng Yanzhou looked at Ruan Huai, who had not sustained any injuries, and a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. He spoke, "I won’t get out since I have difficulty walking; I hope you don’t mind, Mr. Ruan."
Ruan Huai replied, "President Sheng, you are too polite. I must thank you and your assistant for today’s incident. However, I still need to handle the aftermath of the accident. I will host a banquet in the future to express my gratitude for your kindness."
After exchanging pleasantries, Sheng Yanzhou's car departed from the scene.
