Lin Yuan shook his slightly numb hand and coldly stared at the man before him. Their bullets had both run out, and now all he needed to do was hold him off until Team Leader Zheng arrived; then the man would have no chance of escaping. At this moment, time was of the essence. 0

The man seemed to realize this too. He wiped the blood from his mouth and took a few steps back. "I'll let you go for now," he said without hesitation, turning to grab the box behind the wine cabinet and making his escape. Lin Yuan immediately pursued him. How could he possibly let him go? 0

The distance between them was not far. Lin Yuan reached out to grab the black iron box, but at that moment, the man used it as a weapon. First, he dodged Lin Yuan's hand, then swung the box toward Lin Yuan's head. With no time to react properly, Lin Yuan could only raise his hand to block it. 0

After the impact, Lin Yuan felt a bit dazed. His strength had increased, but that didn’t mean he was invincible. 0

The small door of the wine cellar swung open quickly. At that moment, the outer door was also flung open. 0

"Lin Yuan!" Zheng Rufeng's shout snapped him back to reality. Lin Yuan glanced back and quickly spoke up, "Team Leader Zheng, someone escaped inside with something!" 0

Seeing Lin Yuan still holding his head with one hand, Zheng Rufeng immediately led several officers in pursuit, while the captain looked anxious. 0

Aside from the person who had fled, there was also a woman on the ground who appeared to be dead, along with several handguns scattered about. It was safe to say that this situation was chaotic. 0

The others outside were unaware of what was happening inside and dared not approach. 0

Lin Yuan turned to the captain who remained in place and asked, "Do you know where this secret passage leads?" 0

This ship was not one that the captain was accustomed to; he only vaguely knew there was another space in the wine cellar but couldn't recall exactly where it led. "I—I—I," he stammered, racking his brain for an answer but ultimately coming up empty. "They never showed me this map. Even if they did, I probably would have forgotten by now. After all, my main job is just to steer the ship." 0

Seeing there was no useful information from him, Lin Yuan turned back toward the passageway. However, by the time he reached it, Zheng Rufeng had already regained his composure. 0

"Team Leader Zheng," Lin Yuan said urgently, "we didn't catch him; he got away." 0

Zheng Rufeng's expression was grim; no one wanted to be caught off guard at such a critical moment. "What happened?" 0

When Lin Yuan asked, a police officer nearby provided an answer. 0

"There are multiple passages inside, and once someone goes in, we lose track of them." 0

Lin Yuan had already anticipated this outcome. No matter how fast the other party ran, they were still on the ship. If there was only one passage, it would be too easy to catch up, and there was no need to waste time here. 0

"Lin Yuan, did you see his face clearly?" 0

Under the officer's gaze, Lin Yuan shook his head. The other person was just as cautious as he was, wearing a mask, and it was hard to discern the color of their hair. 0

"Still haven't caught him?" 0

When he saw some people coming out without anyone else around them, the captain's face turned pale with fear. It was he who had brought that person over; if this individual turned around and sought trouble, they still had quite a while before reaching the shore. 0

Lin Yuan approached the woman lying on the ground. 0

"It seems we need to check the surveillance again to see who got close to her; perhaps we can find some clues." 0

The ship was too large, making it difficult for them to conduct a thorough search. 0

"As long as we confirm that something is on board, we have reason to conduct strict searches on everyone entering customs; he won't be able to get in." 0

Hearing Zheng Rufeng's confident words, Lin Yuan looked at him. 0

"Kid, have a bit of faith in our customs inspection personnel; they've practically developed a pair of sharp eyes through experience." 0

Indeed, Lin Yuan felt somewhat reassured. He recalled how he had struck the other person earlier, landing a punch. 0

"Team Zheng, we can track down the person with an injury on their left cheek; I hit him earlier, and his teeth were bleeding." 0

"What do you mean?" 0

"If someone gets punched and has gunshot wounds as well, they should be swollen; I can't have gone easy on him." 0

"If I managed to make his teeth bleed with one punch, it couldn't have been light!" 0

The commotion had already attracted quite a few people; there was no stopping those from the police station who were arriving now. They weren't fools—could that noise be anything else? 0

However, the passengers on the ship still had no idea what these police officers looked like, which might deter those hiding in the shadows from acting recklessly. 0

"They might have brought more than just these two guns," Lin Yuan said. "Should I let the police bring reinforcements from the yacht?" 0

If the other party really decided to act now, they didn't know how many casualties there would be. 0

"Let them come up quietly tonight; they probably won't act." 0

From what had just happened, it seemed that the other side believed they could quickly resolve things themselves; once they realized it wasn't possible, they would flee immediately. If they truly stirred up such a commotion, there would be no escape for them. 0

Zheng Rufeng nodded as he listened but suddenly realized he might have been too compliant with Lin Yuan's suggestions. 0

Lin Yuan glanced at the man who was still lost in thought and sighed to himself, deciding to let it go. 0

On the other side, a man emerged from the walk-in closet of the suite, his body marked by gunshot wounds that required immediate attention. After rinsing the wounds with clean water, he managed to extract the bullet. The sound of the bullet clattering to the floor coincided with the creaking of the door being pushed open. 0

"Where's the stuff?" 0

The bathroom door swung open, and the man, gritting his teeth against the pain, pointed toward the nightstand. 0

As someone approached, they quickly grabbed a box and retrieved one of the bottles from a collection of red wine. However, it was clear that what was inside was not actually wine; it was merely a disguise. 0

The perimeter of the ship had already been surrounded by yachts, making escape nearly impossible. 0

"Plus, we’ve already been exposed," the newcomer said as they returned the wine bottles to their original place and sat on the bed. "Let’s just call this operation off for now." 0

The man hadn’t expected to hear such a response. He looked at the box with a hint of dissatisfaction. 0

"We’ve worked so hard for this; didn’t we decide to use the sea as our testing ground? Sacrificing our own for this opportunity is unnecessary. We’re not like those expendable pawns." 0

His words made him feel as if everything was his fault; they shouldn’t have had to bear such consequences in the first place. 0

"What about our boss?" 0

"I’ll talk to him personally later. The main purpose of coming here was to meet with that Green Serpent and confirm our cooperation, which will put everyone’s minds at ease." 0

Under this premise, everything else seemed less important. 0

The newcomer had a different perspective than others; he believed that everyone’s physical condition was roughly similar, and it didn’t matter whether this substance was kept abroad or here. 0

With that statement, the man could only nod in understanding. However, he also knew that he likely wouldn’t be able to go to sea again; it would surely be noticed. 0

Thinking about how there was someone beside him who was even more formidable than himself eased some of his guilt. With that person around, his presence or absence made little difference. 0

"Get some rest." 0
