After the case quickly gained widespread attention, the police decided to post reward notices throughout the city.
Just when everyone thought this would become an unsolved case, a man named Jin Qiang called in to say that the victim was his ex-girlfriend, Jin Xiaofeng.
He had wanted to tear apart that white floral nightgown countless times; he was all too familiar with it. Most crucially, the scar on her chin and her missing tooth matched perfectly.
The police quickly located Jin Qiang. He stated that Jin Xiaofeng worked in a massage parlor near Nanyang Road in a job that could not be openly discussed.
The two had met in 2008, and during their frequent interactions while she worked as a masseuse, they developed a romantic relationship.
However, later he felt that Jin Xiaofeng accepted all kinds of guests and did all sorts of dirty and tiring work, which Jin Qiang could never accept. Eventually, the two broke up.
"After they started dating, they continued in this profession, and I just couldn't stand it anymore, so I broke up with him," Jin Qiang said, shrugging his shoulders with a look of helplessness.
Even after their separation, the two maintained close contact. However, by the end of July, they could no longer reach Jin Xiaofeng, which made them realize that something might have happened.
Through DNA comparison with her relatives, it was confirmed that the head found in the river indeed belonged to Jin Xiaofeng.
Jin Xiaofeng was 25 years old and from Zhumadian, Henan. She worked on engineering projects away from home for long periods, but due to the nature of her work, her social relationships were quite complex.

Exhausted from the process, he took another nap.
By 10 PM, under the cover of darkness, he rode his bike to the cornfield and tossed the suitcase into it before returning to submerge his head in the Kunli River.
On August 15, with his guidance, the police successfully located the suitcase.
"The black box was already crawling with maggots, disgusting flesh flies. When we opened it, the contents were highly decomposed," one officer said, pinching his nose and struggling to suppress his nausea.
Through DNA comparison, it was confirmed that the remains belonged to Jin Xiaofeng.
