Have you ever seen a Police Chief sleeping at a Crime Scene?
You might think he’s busy solving a case.
“No, no, no.”
The adjacent bathroom is Crime Scene One.
In the cramped space, five children's bodies are piled up, their heads wrapped in plastic bags, mouths pierced with Iron Wire, their poses eerie as if part of some ritual.
“The hair is particularly brutal because I remember the wire was tightly bound around the mouth,” said the speaker, frowning as if haunted by the memory of that scene, unconsciously raising a hand to touch his own mouth.
He had passed the wire through the jaw, which showed signs of decay.
“The Death Condition is quite horrific. Was it under a state of clear consciousness before death? Yan Pan, perhaps it was this condition.” One officer murmured to himself while examining the bodies, his brow furrowed and expression grave.
Incredibly, the perpetrator not only committed such inhumane acts but also recorded the entire process for his own enjoyment. Can you bear that?
Yet even so, in the end, the law could not punish him.
Strangely enough, this house later saw several daring individuals move in, but none could last more than two months before fleeing in terror.

Time of Incident: September 8, 2006,
Crime Scene: Hualien County.
Hua Dajie, who lives on Jichang Street, has been suffering greatly lately; it’s not just her—residents along the entire street are overwhelmed by the stench, unable to eat or drink. In desperation, they sniff around like dogs trying to locate the source of the foul odor that seems to emanate from this house.
The male head of this household is named Liu Zhiqin, and his wife is Lin Jenny. They have five school-aged children. The neighbors immediately rushed to knock on the door but received no response.
“Something’s wrong!” someone shouted in panic.
At that moment, everyone suddenly realized that this household seemed to have been absent for many days.
"They've been looking inside through the windows. You can see that flies are already buzzing around inside."
One neighbor tiptoed, straining to peek through the window, his face displaying a look of terror. He then covered his nose and stepped back a few paces.
The village chief quickly dialed the police and called for a locksmith. When the door was pushed open, a putrid smell rushed in like a storm. Aside from the swarming flies, there was nothing else unusual on the first floor.
The crowd trembled as they made their way to the second floor, where they began to spot a few baby flies, yet still found nothing out of the ordinary.
They continued toward the pitch-black third floor, where the stench was so overwhelming that it made it hard to keep their eyes open. Someone fumbled around until they found the light switch, revealing a tightly closed door before them.
The village chief gently pushed against it but suddenly felt it jammed.
"It got stuck after pushing just an inch or so, and it felt like something soft was blocking it, releasing an awful smell. So I told the police that there was no need to force it open anymore; just pull the door back," he said.
The village chief's face turned pale, his hand recoiling as if shocked, his voice trembling slightly.
Numerous investigators rushed to the scene for support, and the horrifying sight behind the door was finally revealed.
Thus began this terrifying and bizarre tragedy.
In a bathroom of just a few square meters, five bodies were piled up, completely covered with blankets and already in an advanced state of decomposition. Their hands were bound behind their backs, and in temperatures exceeding thirty degrees Celsius, one could only imagine what had transpired.
The five victims were three males and two females.
Upon confirmation, they were identified as the five children of Liu Zhiqin and Lin Zhenmi—the eldest being eighteen years old and just starting college, while the youngest was only ten. The forensic examination revealed that they all died from mechanical asphyxiation, with the time of death estimated to be around two days prior.
What shocked the investigators even more was the brutal method of murder.
"He used iron wire to pierce through their jaws; there was evidence of dislocation. The death condition was particularly gruesome—was it while they were still conscious? Yan Pan might be related to this situation."
The forensic expert examined the scene while speaking seriously to the assistant beside him, who was diligently taking notes, his face filled with sympathy.
This indicated that the victim had endured prolonged torment during their lifetime.
Moreover, the bathroom door and windows were sealed with tape, suggesting that the murderer possessed a strong awareness of counter-surveillance.
Suddenly, the investigator discovered that the homeowners, Liu Zhiqin and Lin Zhenmi, were not present in the house. Could they have met with misfortune as well? But where were their bodies?
Upon investigation, it was found that Liu Zhiqin owned several photography and printing companies. After years of hard work, he had accumulated debts amounting to tens of millions.
Combined with the ruthless methods employed by the killer, it was highly likely that this was a case stemming from a debt dispute.
The subsequent investigation confirmed this suspicion.
In the gap of the door, the police found two banknotes bearing distress signals from the victim. One note read "SOS," while the other indicated a kidnapping and warned that the child was in danger.
Forensic analysis confirmed that these notes were indeed written in Liu Zhiqin's handwriting.
At the same time, technicians discovered three cigarette butts in the bathroom and successfully extracted biological samples from them. DNA comparison revealed that they did not belong to Liu Zhiqin, indicating a high likelihood that they came from the murderer.
It appeared that the Liu family had been kidnapped, with five people murdered and the couple taken away. However, if the case were truly this straightforward, it would hardly qualify as Taiwan Province's most bizarre case.
