A few Agents exchanged glances, unsure of what to do.
"Let's go look at the house!" I called back.
I led the buyer on a tour of the property.
"This house is really nice; I like it a lot."
"Boss, can you lower the price a bit?"
"No problem, it's a fixed price!"
My straightforwardness surprised the buyer.
He never expected that I would directly reduce the price by a hundred thousand.
His face lit up with joy, and he quickly paid the deposit.
Once the money was in, I immediately purchased a fully renovated Large Flat in cash and moved into my new home that same day.
Lying on the sofa, I let out a long sigh of relief.
I finally had my own home.
It was a high-end lakeside property, and when I opened the window, the beautiful lake view was right there—what a delight!
Wang Meili and her son came out of the Detention Center, and the first thing they did was look for me.
But the house had already been sold.
I had moved into my new place, and they couldn’t find me at all.
In the end, the new homeowner even called me.
He said Wang Meili kept bothering him, which was very distressing for him, and asked what he should do.
I shook my head helplessly.
"I've already sold the house to you, so it won't do them any good to come after you."
"If they continue to cause trouble, just call the police."
I thought things would unfold as I expected.
But to my surprise, Wang Meili wasn't intimidated; she actually called the police herself.
I found it a bit strange.
Logically, Wang Meili, being uneducated, would resort to throwing a fit or using violence when faced with a situation like this.
Why did she choose to involve the police this time?
It soon became clear that Wang Meili intended to resolve the matter through legal means.
The police called me over.
When I arrived, before even stepping into the yard, I could hear Wang Meili and her son protesting loudly.
"This is Mai Dacheng's house! The house was sold to this kid, and we haven't seen a single penny!"
"This is an illegal transaction that infringes on our property; we must demand that he return the house and our money!"
Wang Meili's voice was loud, and she was crying; anyone who didn't know better would think she had suffered a great injustice.
"Aren't you in the Detention Center? When did you get out?" I scoffed.
Upon seeing me, Wang Meili immediately started shouting at me.
"Why didn't you notify us about selling the house? You heartless person, hand over the money!"
The police asked, "Why didn't you inform your brother before selling the house?"
I smiled slightly and replied, "I'm the only one in my family. My parents have both passed away, and my father's inheritance is all with me."
"I'm the Householder; why should I notify an outsider about selling my property?"
I took out my household registration book to show them.
"You’re talking nonsense!"
Wang Meili shouted like a madwoman, even trying to snatch the household registration book from my hands. The police officer quickly pulled her back.
"What’s all this commotion about? The household registration clearly states that this is Mr. Mai's house, and he can sell it however he wants."
"That's not true, Officer! My son is Mai Dacheng's biological child; he's just spouting lies." Wang Meili's eyes darted as she pulled out her phone.
"I have photos of our family. My son is definitely Mai Dacheng's child, and we deserve half of this house."
The police officer looked at Wang Meili with suspicion.
"Who said that having photos means you can inherit? You need evidence to prove it."
"My son is Mai Dacheng's child," Wang Meili repeated insistently.
Suddenly, her eyes widened as she stared at me.
"I know! You must have killed Mai Dacheng and then deceived us. Officer, he’s a murderer!"
