At five quarters past the hour of the Tiger, the city gates swung wide open, and a group of Black Knights rushed into the city. 0

As they entered Boss Sang's establishment, a faint warm light caught their attention in the darkness. Approaching closer, they discovered it was a Small Eatery, from which a rich aroma of meat wafted, enticingly filling the air. 0

It had been over ten years since he last visited, and Boss Sang had opened a Small Eatery right across from The Office of Censors. Qilang took a deep breath, savoring the overwhelming scent. "Sir, how about we grab a bite here first?" 0

The leader said nothing but tightened his grip on the reins. 0

Once inside the Small Tavern, they were greeted by a stunning young woman standing at the counter, momentarily taken aback. 0

Dressed in a dark pink coarse cloth outfit, her long black hair was casually tied back with a hairband of the same color. Her small oval face glowed with smooth skin, and her almond-shaped eyes sparkled with life. She wore no makeup, yet her natural charm was captivating. 0

As she wrote something down when they entered, she was slightly surprised to see customers so early but quickly composed herself and smiled sweetly. "Dear guests, what would you like to eat? It's a bit early right now; we only have porridge, flaky pastries, and buns available at the moment. If you want something else, it will take some time." 0

Qilang placed a small silver coin on the table. "Miss, just bring whatever you have as quickly as possible." 0

"Understood." 0

The woman turned and lifted a curtain to head into the kitchen. 0

The group looked around; this Small Eatery was quite spacious with over ten tables—clean and roomy without much decoration but showing thoughtful details in its design. For instance, the fabric art hanging on the walls, vibrant flowers blooming in the corners, and intricate carvings on the edges of tables and chairs. 0

In less than half a stick of incense's time, she emerged from the kitchen carrying a large wooden bucket in one hand and balancing about twenty porcelain bowls stacked in the other. 0

Setting everything down on the table with an easy smile, she said cheerfully, "You all must be tired from your journey; start with some Yam Porridge to settle your stomach." 0

As she spoke, she ladled out bowls for everyone. The porridge was cooked to perfection—not too thick or too thin—meant not just to fill but to whet the appetite. With one spoonful, it was nearly impossible to see any rice or yam; after stirring it slightly and letting it cool for a moment, taking a big sip revealed an indescribable comfort despite lacking any special seasoning. 0

"This porridge is quite good," Qilang nodded approvingly and casually remarked, "Miss, you have quite some strength." 0

Carrying such weight—a large bucket of porridge and over twenty bowls—was something most men would struggle with. 0

"I’m used to hard work," she replied nonchalantly. 0

Qilang's gaze swept over her hands; indeed, they bore calluses. He continued to inquire, "Are you from Jingjing?" 0

"No." 0

Noticing her willingness to engage in conversation, Qilang pressed further. "I couldn't detect any accent from outside." 0

"My master is from Jingjing." 0

Though none of the twenty-odd individuals present wore official uniforms, their martial aura felt familiar to her. 0

Knowing that the other party was probing, the woman spoke with a prepared script, quite candidly. 0

"Master? What about your family?" 0

"I don't know; I was adopted by my master." 0

"So this shop, did you open it with Master?" 0

The woman shook her head again. "My master has passed away. This house was left to me. Jingjing City is bustling, and I noticed there weren't many food shops on this street, so I decided to break through the back wall. Today is our grand opening." 0

"What a coincidence! We must be among Miss's first customers." 0

The woman smiled and nodded. She had initially planned to offer a discount, but given his probing questions, she decided against it. 0

"Qilang asked, 'Do you know why Boss Sang doesn't have a shop in this area?'" 0

The woman nodded. "It's because right across the street is The Office of Censors." 0
